  1. Yeah, I didn't mean there's no influence, just that criminal law is not judge-made in the US as the article implied.
  2. Slight clarification on the article: while the US does have a common law system overall, criminal law specifically is basically entirely statutory. The thing with Julian Assange and Sweden having to change his charges due to the statute of limitations interests me. In most (all?) US jurisdictions, if you are a fugitive avoiding apprehension then the statute of limitations stops counting, so since he's hiding out in an embassy the time wouldn't count. The same goes for if you are actively concealing the crime (threatening witnesses to stop them reporting it, etc).
  3. I'm saying I didn't read the article, and your comment made it sound like the only reason they were miffed was the fact that they lived in a rural area instead of the city.
  4. It's an injury from Arkham Asylum, when Croc tore him up. Some of the random thugs will comment on it occasionally.
  5. You just said they grew up in the rural life, not that they were dirt poor. Plenty of people are poor in the city too. But yes, if an accident like that caused you to grow up really poor when your birth parents were better-off, I can see being upset by that. Nothing to do with city/country though.
  6. Why is that obvious? I'd hate it if I had to live in the city.
  7. I just want Khepri's Sting. *Edit - And Gjallarhorn.
  8. I'm pretty sure it's shared world, and you can run into other players.
  9. It only works for the games that you could stream to the regular Vita, so not very many. Also, not ALL Vita games work on the PSTV, though most do. http://www.vitaplayer.co.uk/list-of-playstation-tv-compatible-games/
  10. I had something for this.
  11. I've said before that in RPGs the gear I wear is determined 25% by the stats and 75% by the appearance.
  12. Oh yeah, I didn't mean to imply it's unique to gamers or pop culture or anything, just that feeling obligated to do what is ostensibly a leisure activity seems odd.
  13. I thought this was a good place to put this: it's a video talking about the amount of pop media produced in modern western society and how, at least in certain circles, there's this expectation that you be familiar with huge portions of it: I'd like to know what people on here think about this. There are definitely things (games specifically, but also movies, TV shows, etc) that I feel kind of guilty about not having played/watched/whatever yet, but the prospect of putting in the time is just so daunting. I mean, we have a whole thread about backlogs, for God's sake.
  14. I want to go back to this: are we sure it's not mentioned in the movie? The reason I ask is because I had it in my head that he was a dolphin trainer for the military, and I never read any interviews or saw any prerelease media other than the trailers. Though it is possible I just heard that he was a SEAL, saw that they had him training the raptors, and assumed for myself that he had trained dolphins.
  15. Yes, but it's not as major (at least as far as I've seen) as it was in AC.
  16. The boots are the only part I don't mind, but I think the helmet and arms are hideous.
  17. I didn't mean that he didn't already know (which he didn't, but that was fine for the reasons you stated), what I meant was that when he went to the genetics lab and specifically asked the scientist dude was basically like "not telling, it's classified".
  18. They wouldn't even tell that dude who was running the company what it was made of.
  19. Well the Harley and Red Hood DLCs are just preorder bonuses, it makes sense that there wouldn't be much to them.
  20. I absolutely loved 3, but just found 4 boring. Blackgate was entertaining enough, if you go in with suitably low expectations.
  21. I thought they said he had experience training dolphins for the military?
  22. Yeah, it seemed weird to me that their first thing
