I just keep thinking: what if instead of digitally they had sent in a special forces team to do the same thing in person, would it have been an act of war? I can't decide.
-
Yeah, after I wrote that I decided I agree.
-
It's not just releasing secrets though, they've also been destroying computer records (wiping hard drives after they steal all the data) and disrupting company operations. It's more like if French agents stole the scripts, burned everything else, and then hung around to interfere with Shakespeare afterward.
-
Just analogizing to old-timey pre-digital espionage, which is typically not considered an act of war in the same way that a direct attempt to do damage is. As far as who did it, I obviously have no real information about that, that's just my guess.
-
Seriously? Why do you care?
-
My guess is they have more specific information that they're not releasing. Anyway, I view it as an actual attack in the sense of attempting to do violence/damage, rather than the more intelligence-gathering type attacks you referenced. The fact that it's a cyber attack does not automatically change that. *Edit* - I am sure they weren't trying to start a war (or at least a re-escalation of the "current" war that exists on paper), but I do view it as an act that would justify a military response. That said, I think such a military response would be a colossally terrible idea.

So jelly. I wish I reliably had people to play with.

Well this is good: http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/12/22/us-sony-cybersecurity-usa-idUSKBN0JX1MH20141222?utm_source=twitter Also, Obama says it wasn't an act of war. I disagree with that, but can understand not wanting to get involved in rhetoric that could lead toward a re-initiation of military hostilities on the Korean peninsula.

I think part of it is that prior to launch people were excited for Rage and expecting it to be the Next Big Thing, so compared to that it was a little bit of a letdown. Wolfenstein, otoh, I don't think anyone was expecting to be good, so when it was people were surprised and pleased.
-
That is as it should be.
-
There's actually an explanation for why that's not the case later on.
-
Probably, just seems odd.

Does anyone know what those two characters just before the credits say?

I actually had the checkpoint problem a couple times, but I usually don't quit in the middle of a level so it wasn't a big deal for me.

So, as an apology to everyone who bought the MCC for its horrific multiplayer problems, anyone who played the game while connected to Xbox Live between launch and yesterday will receive a free month of XBL Gold, an exclusive in game nameplate and avatar, and, more excitingly, the ODST campaign ported to Xbox One. http://news.xbox.com/2014/12/games-halo-thank-you-to-our-fans This is especially awesome for me since the problems were all with multiplayer and I don't give two shits about multiplayer so I was unaffected, but get the bonus anyway.

It's so weird that the official one can't make a direct bluetooth connection.

Yeah, Burial at Sea Ep 1 is so so, but Ep 2 is amazing, and you need to play Ep 1 first obviously.

Were they hot?

4th Annual PXOD Secret Santa Wishlists

Just in case it affects anyone, Steam has locked gifting between some regions. Here's a reddit post that lists the restrictions: http://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/2pjdwm/psa_all_games_are_getting_region_locked/ Regions/currencies not affected US$ CAD$ £ € There are a couple others unaffected, but I know those are going to be the big ones here. -
Is it actually spelled differently in the UK, or is it still "Defense"? Just curious.
-
Yeah, "auto" just means it automatically runs at whatever framerate it can, while 30 fps lock locks it to 30. That option would be for people whose machines can't get up to 60 and don't like the stutter that comes from running at in-between rates.

I noticed last night that Team America shot way up on the list of "Popular on Netflix".
