I completely disagree that uptalk is acceptable in American English. It makes the speaker sound extremely insecure and unprofessional.

US laws apply to anyone operating in the US, regardless of where they're based. So if they want to block access from US users then they don't have to follow our copyright laws, but if they want the US market they have to play by our rules. Totally agree that copyright is fucked though.
