What has physics ever done for us anyway? *Edit* - Conservation of momentum is well-established enough that I'm fairly confident they'll at some point work out that it's not actually violating it, they just don't at the moment understand it well enough.

There's two kinds of multiplayer: in one they equalize everyone's stats so level and equipment bonuses don't matter, and in the other they don't do that so people of higher level are just more powerful.

Most of the time I'm okay with language evolving (which is not to say that every common mistake becomes correct just because it's common), but this one specifically really bothers me because it's "evolved" to mean the exact opposite of what it really means. It essentially makes the word useless.

Contrast specifically probably wound up in good shape, because that game had some pretty serious issues that likely would have impacted sales.

Yeah, but the deals are eating away at first month sakes too. I would have bought Rogue Legacy except I know it'll probably be free or cheap in a couple months, so that's a sale they lost.

That was ODST's Firefight that we were playing that was so laggy, right? I played Destiny with Chronixal and there was no noticeable lag or latency for either of us. It was amazing. I'm sure a big part of it is that the world is actually running on dedicated servers, whereas with Firefight one of the party members was hosting. But based on my experience with it so far the biggest problem will be the time difference, no real technical issues.

Unfortunate for devs, awesome for me. Probably working out fairly well for Sony too for the moment, though they may change their minds later when they're less concerned about boosting installed base.

Yeah, a better strategy for Nintendo would have been to release it on Wii U first to boost sales, and then 3DS a few months later. As it is the 3DS version is going to cannibalize sales of the Wii U version, meaning it also cannibalizes any incentive to get a Wii U. They should have done the same thing with MK8.

Yeah, that's part of it too: it feels just like Halo to me, but with less interesting encounter design and a progression mechanic (which I really really like), so I don't see how Halo could feel floaty but this doesn't.
