  2. Yeah, if you out in anything else he asks if you want to be Douchebag, and if you say no he just pretends you said yes anyway.
  3. I'm fine with CGI trailers for first announcements.
  4. Matt and Trey said they had never considered the layout of the town until Obsidian started asking them about it, so you're right that it's not the same as the show, because the show never had a consistent layout. This is a 'canon' layout though.
  5. I can see why the somewhat scripted traversal design would bother people, but it just doesn't bother me.
  6. I've heard mention of performance problems in the console versions. Nothing terribly specific though.
  7. RPS in their review was whining about the lack of display options. I assumed they meant you couldn't change the resolution, but no, you can, they meant that it doesn't have all the other fancy graphics toggles. It's fucking South Park, it's a bunch of goddamned sprites, why do you need graphics toggles?
  8. How are you guys getting it for $45 at GMG? It's showing up as $60 for me, with the 20% of voucher bringing it down to $48.
  9. Electricity makes sense, but it seems really similar to neon. I agree that water is pretty likely. We saw cement/stone enemies in the gameplay preview, maybe that will be the fourth one?
  10. I read the books, but it wasn't my wife. I can't remember who it was that recommended them.
  11. Still playing Thief. Got 11 hours under my belt now, and my initial impressions hold up: it's exactly what I wanted/hoped for. Really my only complaint is that it doesn't have as much personality as something like Dishonored. One thing I really like about it is that while going around the city you'll overheard people talking about loot hidden in this place or that, and it doesn't put a marker on your map or anything, you just have to pay attention to what they say and figure it out yourself. Similarly in missions you may find say a scrap of paper saying that the combination to a safe is hidden is such and such a place, and the game just expects you to remember that on your own, rather than making a note of it for you (other than that piece of paper being in your inventory) or putting up a waypoint.
  12. Yeah, it's amazing. I love being able to be in the main room with my wife while still playing video games but not hogging the TV. I played probably half of AC4 that way, and while in the first person sections I could tell there was some latency it was not enough to affect the game. I wouldn't want to play anything super twitchy with it, like Killzone or Geometry Wars or anything, but for your typical action game it's fantastic.
  13. It seems like Raptr is getting progressively shittier. Any other good sites that actually track the amount of time you play?

      Oh awesome!

Still doesn't fix their gamercard being ugly though. :(

Sucks that you'll have to enter time manually, but I already do that on Raptr anyway for Playstation/Nintendo games.

The guy is pretty responsive on Twitter, could maybe hit him up about the gamercard. Does sound like he's working on some designey updates of late (making it mobile friendly was todays task)

  14. I'm perfectly willing to take the blame if that's what you want to do, but for the record the only MGS I've played is like an hour of MGS2, so I'm pretty sure it wasn't actually me.
  15. Despite what first graders say, implied meanings do matter.
  16. I'm not saying put more effort into it, I'm saying don't go out of your way to be a dick. In your first post the same point could have been made just as well without calling me stupid, and in the second one it could have been made just as well without the first sentence.
  17. People who spell it "poseur". It's just French for "one who poses" anyway, which is exactly what "poser" means.
  18. @FLD: I haven't played the game for like 9 years, I can't remember it very specifically beyond that I hated it and really general reasons why. You're kind of right though, in that my second comment was intended in more of a teasing way rather than actually seriously. *Edit* - @FDS: And you being an asshole doesn't make you right. You not having issues proves there must not be any, obviously. *Edit 2* - And just to be clear, the escort mission thing was the nail in the coffin, not the sole (or even main) reason I didn't like it.
  19. It's not nice to call people stupid, especially when you insist on reading too much into what they say. I have played games with good escort missions before, this was not one of them. I had no end of trouble with Ashley getting herself killed stupidly.
  20. It's been slow as balls for me today.
  21. Thief. I'm about 3 hours in, just finished the "second" mission (third if you count the prologue), and so far it's exactly what I was expecting/hoping for. My only issues so far is that their FXAA/TXAA implementation isn't as good as it could be, so there's more aliasing on certain near-ground objects than I would like, and for some reason it seems to have performance issues in cutscenes (even the prerendered ones, oddly enough... probably loading in the background or something is causing it).
