  1. If that crowd is actually the kind of density we can expect to see in the final game I will be suitably impressed with its next-gen-ness.
  2. Unity confirmed with an in-engine teaser trailer: At the end it has PC DVD Rom listed among the platforms, so that's confirmed (though also expected).
  3. Now Walmart has marked their Xbone bundles down to $450. Why must you tempt me so?!

I know, it's stupid and doesn't make any sense. This is why I have a Wii U but only 3 real games for it.

I'll just derail this here and say that if one of them isn't The Wonderful 101 then you should own 4. That game looks amazing. And at least with a Wii U you have Bayonetta 2 to look forward to.

If I had the disposable income to waste on an unnecessary system, I'd get a Wii U just for those two.

They are NSMBU, Wind Waker HD and SM3DW.

  4. @TFG: This is the first I've even heard of Two Brothers... Re: Covers: I'm with Alex, I only ever print covers if I got a game used with a plain box, but even then I always wan't the actual retail cover. Although some games have pretty terrible covers that I can totally see wanting the non-retail one (but again, I'd only ever do it if I got the game with a plain cover to start with).
  5. I think the idea of having it indicate your health or whatever is kind of neat, except that the way it's positioned I can't ever see it while I'm playing so it's pointless. The only game I've played that I could actually notice the changes was in Thief how it would light up bright white if you were visible, because the change was drastic enough that I could see the change in light down at the bottom edge of my vision.
  6. Yeah, that's why, and also edit them with better software. Currently the only way to upload recorded clips is Facebook, which means that if you want to post something on Youtube you have to upload it to Facebook first and then use a Facebook ripper to download that file to your computer. That would be a hassle on its own, but Facebook also compresses the videos so they look like crap after you do that. Now you'll be able to get the raw file that the PS4 generates and copy it directly onto a computer (via USB drive) to edit and upload wherever you want, without it having gone through Facebook's compression.
  7. Yeah, the ability to transfer the files directly to USB is fantastic.
  8. Yeah, it's better than nothing, but it's a stupid requirement in the first place so the fact that they won't just remove it irritates me. Unless I'm trying to play a game that uses the motion tracking I should be able to turn that shit off.
  9. $10 is $7 above my "fuck it, I'm curious" price. I also made the mistake of looking up the HD collection, which is like $30, and makes me less interested in getting started in the first place.
  10. Splinter Cell had the advantage of nostalgia, because I'd already played and loved them when they first came out. *Edit* - I'd also point out that MGS1 is a full generation older than Splinter Cell. Maybe I'll get MGS1 when Sony releases their upscaling emulator for PS4 I'll get it then.
  11. Correction: you can only dim it. Fuck!
  12. Praise the lord Jesus they're gonna let you turn off the lightbar! That fucker was a battery hog. *Edit* - Another thing they need to add, that to me is a way bigger oversight than local file playback, is the ability to play 3D blurays.
  13. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EvXmdBGwvI At the very beginning of the video the guy doing the demo says "Ooh, loading screens in 3D", so it is stereoscopic. They would do well to make that clearer though.
  14. You're right about RE4, I forgot about that one. You're also right that I've never played Metal Gear, but that's more of a function of it seeming really daunting to a new player. I feel like if I jump in now I'll be lost, but at the same time I'm fairly confident that if I try to go back and play the old ones I won't be able to get through them because they'll be too dated in terms of gameplay. I am interested in it, and want to get into it, but it just seems so overwhelming. Like trying to jump in at Mass Effect 3 or something.
  15. Yeah, I think they peaked with the base thing in AC3. The homestead was great.
  16. Outside of JRPGs, when was the last time I said I didn't like a game? I said I liked DXHR.
  17. It's not me, it's EVERYONE ELSE who has terrible taste! In all seriousness though, whatever, if I have low standards that let me enjoy more games than other people I'm okay with that. I've long since come to terms with that "problem" with movies.
  18. Video file playback is not going to happen, it's too niche a demand and it competes with their own video service as well as Netflix/Hulu/etc. PSOne/PS2 Classics support is on the way. Folders I agree with. The interface looks nice, but it's a PITA to have to scroll through every damn game you own in one horizontal line. They should have a "Games" section like with the "TV/Video" section.
  19. The Stanley Parable. It was interesting. I know it's not really something you "beat", but I found a good number of the endings so I'm gonna put it in here anyway. It was probably the weirdest game I've played after Thirty Flights of Loving. Maybe after Antichamber too.
  20. http://kotaku.com/leaked-images-reveal-one-of-this-falls-two-assassins-1547111652 Leaked screenshots of the new AC game. Supposedly there's actually two games coming out this fall: "Unity" on PS4/Xbone and "Comet" on PS360/WiiU. I imagine that it's probably a scenario like Splinter Cell Double Agent, where they're the "same game" but rather than porting between generations they develop them separately. It seems really weird otherwise.
  21. Well even the new Oculus is only 960x1080 for each eye. I would imagine this is the same. Two 960x1080 screens = 1920x1080 in the mind of PR people.
  22. Man shut up Thief is great! good! *Edit* - To be honest, I think I enjoyed Thief more than Deus Ex, which just felt cheap and small to me. I mean Thief had kind of a similar feeling, but it not being an RPG I didn't have as high of expectations in that department. I did enjoy DXHR, but don't think it's just amazing or anything.
  23. Wow @ the previous conversation... Anyway: PS4 is finally getting the ability to offload gameplay clips and screenshots to a USB drive! Fuck yes!
  24. How lost would someone who's never played Metal Gear before be if they were to jump in at this point?
  25. The problem with the games you listed though is that they have already come out, and I have already played them, and I don't want to get the same thing again But In VR.
