Here's a side-by-side of the PS4 and PS3 versions: Watch it full screen at 1080p to be able to see the differences the best. It's obviously just a straight port, but it's nice that they're at least using higher res textures. Also, the PS4 version runs at native 1080p, whereas the PS3 runs at 720p. PS4 looks equivalent to the PC version of AC3 on high settings. By far the most noticeable difference is on the background objects, particularly the ocean and the wood railing. Anyway, I know this isn't a good look at what we can expect from native next-gen games, but I thought it was interesting nonetheless. Presumably the Xbone/360 comparison would be very similar.

Once you got it working with x360ce did it register R2/L2 as analog or are they still digital?

Does the GCPD have a bad signal? The only ones I've noticed are the objective marker ones, and those I don't really think of as actually existing in the world.

I've been having an easier time with the knife enemies in this one than I did in City. Can't say for sure why. Ground takedowns are definitely fucked up though.

The thing that bugged me about First Class is that they kinda half treated it as a reboot, but not really. So it's ostensibly in the same timeline as X1-3, but there are all these continuity problems with that. Even if for no other reason that is enough justification to me that they should have made it a reboot.

I thought that too at first, but people the Penguin and the Hatter are clearly already established at this point, so that kinda shoots that explanation out of the water. Hell, even Black Mask is weirder than just some regular mobster. If it had been about the first weird criminals showing up and taking over from people like the Falcones then it would have made a lot more sense.

Yeah, I just played for two hours and I almost always get an A or B rating in combat, so even if the rhythm's different at least for me it's not objectively harder.
