  1. You can check your vault from the website from any PC, or even your phone.
  2. Now that I finished Dragon Age 2 I'm working on Company of Heroes 2. On the third mission, and really liking it so far. Also this: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=157290597
  3. But then he wouldn't be FDS if he said it nicely.
  4. Okay, yeah, looking back on your comments I must have made them more extreme in my head somehow. You were just saying you didn't think you'd be able to sell it, but somehow I read it as you saying you can't distribute it at all. I specifically picked that example because I thought it seemed like a grey area.
  5. Free or just discounted?
  6. In US statutory interpretation, at least, (I have no idea whether this is the case in the UK or not) the presumption is that every provision of the law is in the law because it means something. If it didn't mean anything it wouldn't be in the law. So the presumption is against interpreting sections of laws to have no applicability, to be meaningless. However, under your interpretation that the material cannot be distributed under any circumstances, the exception Thursday quoted has no meaning, which is a disfavored interpretation.
  7. Religious groups/charities often "sell" videos or whatever for a nominal fee. I'm talking about a situation where I say "I will send a copy of this to anyone who wants it, as long as you pay for the cost of postage and the actual disc/packaging itself." I'm not even talking about covering overhead, which is where stuff like Hollywood accounting comes in. *Edit* - Dean, if it were your way what is even the point about having the section allowing distribution if it's not for a business or reward? If all distribution is a business and none can ever fall into that category, why even have it in the law? That would be like writing a law that says "You can't kill people unless they're already dead, in which case it's okay."
  8. Yeah, that interpretation would seem to erase the entire exception.
  9. Not saying it's right, just that it's better than barring all distribution. Doesn't entirely suppress the viewpoint, just the commercialization of it. Question: what if I charge for the game/movie/whatever, but am doing it as a nonprofit, and the charges are solely to cover the costs of producing/distributing it? That would seem to me to be neither supplied for a reward nor in the furtherance of a business, but I am obviously not well-versed on UK law.
  10. Wait, weren't you the one saying that this wasn't big enough for public beheadings? Or do you just mean you disliked Mattrick regardless?
  11. I'm glad they dropped the 3 from Inquisition. This one should have been just like Dragon Age: Champion or something. *Edit* - As far as art style goes I liked DA:O better, but really the only thing that bothered me was that the Qunari looked so much different than they did in DA:O. Also that everyone kept pronouncing "Qun" like "queue", rather than the hard k sound used in DA:O, "koon".
  12. It's also due to foreshortening because the camera is closer to your upper body than it is to your legs.
  13. So Saturday came and went, was there anything revealed? *Edit* - I know Half Life 3 wasn't, but was there anything else this could have been referring to?
  14. Playing DA2 and Zorro was climbing around behind my computer, me praying he didn't turn it off. Beat the game, not two minutes later he turns the computer off. Thanks for waiting, at least.

Cats are also substantially less destructive, and a shit ton quieter too.

      A "shit ton" queiter?

My wife's cat's incessant whiney meow is more annoying than any of my past dogs', "RUFF I THINK I HEAR SOMETHING MASTER!"

Though...still love the cat as much as my dogs.

I think it is futile to try to say one is "better" than the other...they don't have specs.

Cats are better and your opinion is wrong!

  15. Dragon Age 2. I actually really liked it. I don't necessarily feel like it should have had a 2 on the end, and maybe the negative reception made me have lower expectations and react more positively, but I really enjoyed it. Sure it would have been nice to not reuse so many locations, but the game itself was fun and while the story wasn't as epic as other Bioware RPGs I thought it was good.
  16. Well that certainly makes it seem less oppressiony...
  17. I didn't mean "it is literally impossible to require that for the game," I mean they won't do it. Most games developed for consoles only use the base equipment that everyone has. I would expect The Cloud ™ to be used on the Xbone similarly to how Kinect was used on the 360: most games that use it at all will just have small little additions that aren't required for the game to function. This is especially true because multiplats won't be able to use the features on the PS4.
  18. Here's the thing though: if the console no longer requires a connection then developers cannot develop based on the capabilities of the cloud, because they can't assume that the console will be connected to the cloud. Even if the cloud were this magical land that computes everything amazingly with no latency, they can't assume people have access to it.
  19. As I understand it the issue with patching on 360 wasn't that they charged at all, it was that they charged an exorbitant amount. Sony might charge but if they do it must be less because devs are only complaining about MS's charges.
  20. No, I don't mean it's hard to tell that it looks nicer than PS3, but it's hard to tell like just how nice the textures and AA and stuff are because the compression artifacts hide it. *Edit* - As far as the actual content goes, the effects from the earthbender enemies look cool.
  21. The compression in that video isn't that great, so even in 1080p on Youtube it's hard to see how nice the graphics are.
  22. It's been a long time since I played it, but I seem to remember the last level of WoL being somewhat frantic without actually being difficult.
  23. Stuff like the controller keyboard. The 2.5mm plug just plugs in to the middle one, where stuff like the chat pad takes up all three plugs.
  24. 3.5 and 2.5mm. The 360's port is actually 2.5mm, the same as the ones on most flip phones/cordless home phones. You can actually use an old flip phone headset on the 360 with no problem.
