  1. Okay, but 18+ means adults only right? The idea of any kind of government agency saying "this material is not suitable for adult consumption" is just so bizarre to me. What restrictions are placed on items that are refused classification? I don't expect you to know about the Australian system, but is there an equivalent in the UK's system?

You don't just get a 1099 or whatever from them at the end of the year?

Huh, weird. In the US if you get married you just start marking the married box when you file, and if you get divorced you just start marking the single box again.
  4. Saints Row 4 was refused classification in Australia. I thought we were done with this shit once they enacted the R18+. Isn't the point of that that it's for adults and so you've no business saying what is and isn't appropriate for them?
  5. They've said it has to be connected, but nothing they've said so far indicates that it actually has to be detecting you.

Learn something new every day. This is why I don't do tax law.
  7. I was thinking some kind of cloth flap over the camera, so I could pull it back easily in the incredibly unlikely event I wanted to use it. The mic though presents more concern for me. *Edit* - Note to self, do not google "sensory deprivation mask" at work. Or at all.
  8. Restaurants are a fantastic analogy. The ability to make food at home doesn't drive restaurants all out of business (though admittedly it's a very difficult industry to remain profitable in).
  9. Obama says that Snowden should be turned back over to the United States, and that we need to make sure "the rule of law is observed." Mr. Obama, I wouldn't think that I would have to remind you, a formal constitutional law professor, about this, but here goes: "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized." First the NDAA, now Prism, and no doubt other things I'm forgetting/never knew about to begin with, you do not get to invoke the Rule of Law in support of yourself.
  10. THAT I would be all in favor of. *Edit* - Someone should develop a little dongle that plugs into the Kinect port and just sends a fake signal of an empty, silent room, so the Xbone thinks Kinect is plugged in but it's just not picking up anything.
  11. Well at this point it doesn't have any DRM that the current gen consoles don't have, does it? At least as far as we know.
  12. Yeah, from googling you're not the only person who misheard it that way.

I didn't think the IRS pays interest on refunds. I intentionally have too much taken out of my check because I would rather not get a bill at the end of the year that I was not prepared to pay, so I always get refunds, but I've never been aware of any interest on that.
  15. That's not what Trinity says, she says Also, spoiler tags about a 14 year old movie?

@GOH: Even if they can't audit you after 3 years they should still be able to accept the money if you voluntarily offer it, shouldn't they?
  17. We have one. I've read though that it can stress cats out if you use it too much, because they can never actually catch the thing.
  18. We saw this wrestle toy at Walmart that had a cloth covering and a crinkly material inside. We thought he'd like it, but it was too expensive for what it was, so we wadded up grocery bags and put them in a sock instead. I didn't think to get the camera until he was already pretty worn out.

The idea that that is an attempt to make kids transgender, or that that is even a possible result, is patently ridiculous.

Yeah, that's weird, afaik there's no limitation on how long after the fact they can take the money, especially if you voluntarily offer it.
  21. I think we may have agreed to change his name to Zorro. My wife likes it because she thinks he looks like a fox, and zorro is Spanish for "fox", and I like it because it's Zorro.
  22. I voted for VII because it's the only one I've played for any length of time at all.
  23. We got him a rawhide stick because he's been chewing on cords and we wanted to redirect, but he seemed to have more fun spinning it on the kitchen floor. Also, my wife didn't like "Golly", so now I'm taking the tactic of just calling him Goliath to see if it'll stick.
