  1. Okay, whatever, all I'm saying is that if you give me dialog choices then don't make the cutscene character directly contradict my approach 3 seconds later. Either don't give me the choices, make the character's attitude in cutscenes change based on them, or make the cutscenes such that they work well with any choices.
  2. I actually have the k400 for my HTPC. The first set of batteries are still going strong like 6 months in, but I don't use it just a ton, I have an actual remote I use most of the time.
  3. Yes, it does reflect your choices in the ending, but until the final cutscene they have absolutely no effect.
  4. What kind of stuff would it be able to reuse that would lessen the CPU/GPU load, other than not having to store more stuff in memory? Honest question.
  5. No, telling me a story without choices would have been fine. What bugged me was how they gave me choices but then didn't reflect them at all. It created really bad ludonarrative dissonance. If in every single cutscene Vincent is going to be all then don't give me the option to act the complete opposite of that when I'm in control. Don't let me, through dialog choices, scream from the rooftops If they don't want to give me choices that's fine, but if they do give me choices then those choices need to be reflected, or at the very least not completely contradicted, when the character is in a cutscene.
  6. I wish that game had been a lot more down to earth, and that cutscene-Vincent would have actually altered his behavior based on player-Vincent's actions.
  7. That police car at 1:09 might be the coolest future car I have ever seen.
  8. Yeah, everything I've gotten from them that I've actually paid money for was a Steam key.
  9. I've bought a few things from them, but not a whole lot.
  10. If it were on a service I used all the time anyway, like Steam, then it would basically be a discount because the credit would just replace money I was going to end up spending anyway, but yeah on GMG it's not really the same.
  11. With Bioshock: Infinite (NA) preorders on GMG you do have the option of a $15 GMG credit that will be added to your account at the game's launch though. Which is roughly equivalent of a 25% discount, kinda.
  12. Yeah, I saw the disclaimer, I was just confirming that it doesn't work in the US. GMG one doesn't work either. Says I have no appropriate titles in my basket.
  13. It's showing as $59.99 on that link for me.
  14. Not strictly a board game, but it's tabletop so I figure close enough: Mobile Frame Zero. Saw it on Penny-Arcade. It's basically like a tactical strategy game played with collectible miniatures, but instead of having to buy the miniatures you build your own out of Legos or whatever the fuck you want, so it doesn't cost your entire life savings to get into. I may have to try it if my wife has any interest whatsoever. My sister and her boyfriend might be good too.
  15. In Prototype 2 I don't think I ever ran into a part that was frustrating in the same way that some of the Prototype 1 parts were.
  16. New video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbOhc2Czcc4 I wish marketing departments would actually put the interesting parts of games in their trailers, rather than make everything look like a generic beat-em-up.
  17. Yeah, I've always had a negative view of Acer, but that's probably mostly because the bulk of my experience with Acer is from the laptops my high school had in the library, which were shitty as hell, and I'm sure they just bought the absolute cheapest/crappiest model they could find.
  18. Software doesn't bother me, I always wipe and reinstall windows first thing on any manufacturer-built computer anyway.
  19. Is it generally agreed that Dells are crappy? I ask because I've always had good luck with them.
  20. Short of outright fraud I don't see backers getting too far in lawsuits against Kickstarter projects.
  21. Oh, sorry, missed that bit of your writeup and didn't read the actual link. *Edit* - Don't think of it like a console, think of it more like a standard, like Bluray or whatever. There's certain requirements that the device has to meet to be branded a Steambox, but as long as they meet those requirements (and maybe pay a royalty?) anyone can do it, just like how you can buy a Sony or Philips or Toshiba bluray player.
  22. I agree with that except I haven't played The Unfinished Swan.
