  1. I think it depends very much on each game. Overall I would like to see more representation of demographics outside of straight white males, but that doesn't mean that every single game has to give you the option to play as something else. To say that Dishonored doesn't let you play how you want because you can't play as a girl is ridiculous. If it had been advertised as having complete character customization then they might have a point, but it wasn't.
  2. I was the top player on Raptr for a little while right after I finished, but now I've been bumped down to Dedicated. All this discussion has convinced me to start another run. I'm going to do a high-chaos one this time, and actually I didn't quite do no-kills last time, but I'm pretty sure I kept my kill count in single-digits. *Edit* - I just checked an not counting the prison level I killed fewer than 5 people. Got the cheevo for it.
  3. I totally agree that the clam plant things could go.
  4. Sinister. Throughout most of it I was thinking it was just okay, but then the end really saved it. The end was almost perfect, but then it went on a little too long and lost some of it's effectiveness. Still good though.
  5. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that for the most part the people who say Call of Duty is bad because it never changes probably aren't the same people who like Halo. Because you're right, gameplay-wise it is basically the same as the first one was, but considering I can still go back and play and enjoy the first one, which I can't do with a lot of other games from the same time that I liked just as much, I don't personally think that's a bad thing. Make sure to keep anything about the campaign in spoiler tags.
  6. I do wish there had been more missions like the party where you were infiltrating in plain sight rather than hiding in the shadows all the time. I find that kind of stuff very cool.
  7. That was pretty good. I couldn't help but read it in Yahtzee's voice. However, I will say this: I am not willing to give up on is. Yes, Coldplay is touring. The noun "Coldplay" is singular, it's a band. If you wanted to say "the members of Coldplay are touring" for some reason then yes, that's plural. Coldplay is an entity distinct from its constituent members, as are companies and governments and sports teams and whatever else, and so when talking about the entity you use singular verbs. It's funny to me that he was willing to concede "in back of" (though I'm sure it was largely tongue-in-cheek) since even as an American I cringe when I hear that. It just sounds so uneducated, like something a 5 year old would say.
  8. "Overseas" is often used as a non-literal term for "outside the US".
  9. Yeah, pretty sure my phone should be able to run that at 1080p. Kidding... mostly...
  10. Yeah, it could be a measure but it can't be the measure. I mean, a society with gender equality but that still enslaved people based on race couldn't be said to be all that progressive overall.
  11. I can't use a DS3 for any precise aiming no matter what I do to the settings, the sticks are just too loose and the deadzone is too big. *Edit* - The exception to that was KZ2 using the SIXAXIS functionality for fine aiming on the sniper rifle. That was absolutely fantastic, way better than any other controller aiming I've ever used, and I wish other shooters would do that. Vita games seem to often do something similar and I love it.
  12. Dishonored. Took me 13 hours on a semi-no-kill run. Definitely going to play it again though.
  13. You guys are really making this game tempting, though I can't bring myself to buy it this soon after launch since I missed out on the preorder incentives. I'll wait for a price drop...
  14. I just beat the game. 13 hours on a semi-no-kill run (I tried to avoid killing people, and think I killed may 6 or 7 throughout the whole game, and most of those were in the first level). I tried to be as stealthy as I could but I didn't reload every time I raised an alarm or anything, though I did reload if I got into a situation that I couldn't escape from without killing a bunch of dudes. I really liked it, and I'm actually not disappointed by the length. I'm probably going to go back and do a more violent run (I didn't even kill the main targets in this one. But yeah, I played on PC but the style I played I could easily have done on a controller because any time I got into a situation that required precise aiming I had completely fucked up and was going to reload anyway.
  15. There's a reason the phrase "fever dreams" is a thing.
  16. Okay, there's one, but you have to admit that the prime consideration was more likely getting that specific date than the day of the week.
  17. I've never heard of a major game being released on a Friday in the US so at least for those any true global releases would have to be on a Tuesday. Though really Friday does seem to make more sense.
  18. Yeah, after FLD elaborated I realized I probably read too much in to that first post. I'll probably get this game whenever it hits ~$25.
  19. I've had a couple of weird, half-lucid dreams like that recently too. Always before I've woken up within a couple seconds of realizing I'm dreaming, but over the last couple weeks I've had a couple dreams where it's like part of me knows I'm dreaming so I can change stuff in the dream at will but I still don't really no I'm dreaming so I stay asleep.
  20. I'm really liking it so far, but MAN could it use an HD texture pack. I'm tempted to say it's suffering from being on consoles, but I feel like consoles usually have higher res textures than this: Putting aside graphics though, the game is beautiful. Really digging the art style.
  21. I preordered this back in June, and it should be delivered today.
  22. Yeah, not doing simultaneous worldwide release is stupid, especially for digital products.
  23. It's pronounced "doo-uh", apparently.
  24. The Fall of Reach and what not? They were pretty alright books as far as I remember. Yeah, I'm enjoying them. Some are better than others, but that's to be expected.
  25. Man, I love me some TBS, and the persistence sounds really cool, but I'm not a big fan of games that punish you too much for failure.
