  1. Then/than really bugs me too. Also to/too/two (although "two" usually isn't much of a problem).
  2. lol @ "I expect the leader of the free world to go commando."
  3. lol, sorry, I wouldn't really consider myself a grammar nazi but I do have a few pet peeves, like should have/would have/could have, your/you're, there/their/they're, etc.
  4. This looks really cool: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1035580424/blackspace-plan-dig-defend-survive
  5. http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/17/bioware-announce-dragon-age-iii-inquisition/
  6. This whole race seems kind of like the Bush/Kerry race, but with the party positions reversed. You have a not-super-popular sitting president who's doing well because the other candidate simply cannot get his shit together.
  7. Interesting that it looks like the animations are high-quality enough to also be running at 60 fps. When I played Darksiders 2 even though it was running at 60 fps the animations were only at 30 fps; the effect was... interesting.
  8. From the "G" points symbol in the corner it looks like 360.
  9. Yeah we do, look at the link again, we just call it "steak sauce" instead of "brown sauce".
  10. I don't think I can stress enough how much the controller ruined it for me. I was actually quite excited for NSMBWii until I actually played it. I just can't stand holding the Wiimote sideways like that, and the shake-to-special-jump really irritated me as well. *Edit* - Sorry, wrote that hours ago and apparently forgot to hit post. I've never had much luck getting Dolphin to do well on my PC with all the prettiness of that screenshot, it always runs in slow motion for some reason even though I would think my computer should be able to handle it fine (even knowing that emulators are much harder on hardware than native games of the same quality).
  11. It also uses the tablet thing.
  12. Wipeout the gameshow is like a less funny version of Most Extreme Elimination Challenge/Takeshi's Castle. I've been playing Halo: Anniversary since I never beat it on Legendary last year. The skulls for infinite ammo, big explosions, and exploding grunts make it SIGNIFICANTLY easier. *Edit* - Except for a few parts, which they make much much harder. Or at least the big explosions/exploding grunts ones do.
  13. I'd be tempted if it was a 3D Mario rather than a NSMB game; NSMB has never really appealed to me much. Though I will admit that a significant part of that is because you have to use the Wiimote, so if they had just made it playable with the Wii U Pro Controller I would have been much more tempted. Re: Bayonetta 2: My first reaction was "Wii U exclusive? How weird." Then I found out that SEGA had dropped the franchise and was like "oh, that makes sense then." People need to calm down.
  14. That's why I said "seems like". I know rationally that it's effectively the same thing, but one makes it seem as though content is being arbitrarily withheld while the other makes it seem as though bonus content is being granted. And the manner in which something is presented cannot be entirely discounted. Think of the difference between telling a girl "Holy shit, I would love to fuck your brains out," and "Wow, you look great."
  15. At $200 I'd probably get one even considering there aren't many games right now that I want.
  16. This was not a wise purchase. It cost less than a fast food meal though, so I can't be too upset about it.
  17. This is what I think it is. If it's included on the disc but locked then it seems like the content's already there, they're just withholding it, whereas if it's actually downloaded later then it seems like an addition.
  18. Not even remotely the same. The popular Western conception of God is of a being existing outside the "regular" universe, which while we lack any evidence suggesting its existence beyond that fact there's not any specific reason to say it doesn't exist. With the teapot we know those to be man-made objects, created on Earth, which would suggest that there isn't one orbiting Mars unless we put it there; given that as far as available knowledge goes he haven't put one there we have a fairly compelling reason to believe that there is not, in fact, a teapot orbiting Mars.
  19. I thought it was old at the start of the second.
  20. Oh, since some people were asking, they've said that the WiiU will work with flash drives or external hard drives via USB, so you can connect as much storage to it as you want. Nintendo supporting universal standards and Sony requiring proprietary storage... I feel like I woke up in bizarro world.
  21. Atheism is certainly a lack of faith, but I'd argue that some people take their conviction that there is no god to such an extreme that one could say they have faith that there is no god. That's what I would call anti-theism. Someone who is certain there is no god has no more of a scientific outlook than someone who is certain that there is. The scientific outlook is to say that without evidence to show the existence of a god we will assume there is no god, but without evidence disproving god we can't actually say that one does not exist. Now I realize atheism and a scientific outlook are not the same thing, but enough atheists use "science" as an argument against god that the point must be made. The truly scientific outlook is technical agnosticism with atheistic assumptions.
  22. The coolest thing about it for me is the ability to play games on the tablet so you're not hogging the TV. But looking over the list of launch software, though impressive in terms of quantity, the only two games I'm at all interested in off it are Pikmin 3 and ZombiU. And really those not very much. *Edit* - Show me a 3D Mario and a new Zelda and we'll talk. Show me a full-fledged Pokemon game (I know it'll never happen, but a man can dream) and I'll buy it right away.
  23. It was okay, but overall just felt shoddy. Crazy repetitive too.
