  1. That's funny, I was just thinking last night before I went to bed that I've probably got enough games that I bought but haven't played yet to last me a year if need be.
  2. I know that, but if they're not going for the same kind of feel in the dialog as in Portal then it's meaningless to compare them.
  3. I mean the actual words that people say. *Edit* - How much sense would it make to talk about the wittiness of the narrative structure?
  4. What dean said (I won't be using it much). It's just the crappy LCD one. Probably the only thing I'll ever use it for will be keeping track of what time it is and changing game profiles for the programmable buttons.
  5. I get that gameplay wise it's just like Portal, but I was talking about the writing specifically. The writing is not like Portal, and it didn't seem to me like it was trying to be like Portal, so I don't get why people are criticizing it by saying it's not as witty as Portal.
  6. My keyboard finally decided to crap out on me, so I got this to replace it. $78 after a 35% off code I had from Raptr.
  7. Of course I say that and now two days later my return key is starting to go mushy...
  8. Yeah, I personally prefer V over IV, but a lot of people prefer IV and I understand why. I wish that they'd added a religious victory type to V. Maybe make it so if more than a certain percentage of the cities convert to your religion (or maybe even all of them) you win or something like that.
  9. If you're interested in multiplats I could name a bunch more. Bethesda RPGs are always going to be better on PC than on console, they've got fantastic mod support.
  10. Starcraft/Starcraft 2. Can't buy them on any of those three services, but they are available for download on Blizzard's site. Starcraft 2 is still $60 though, which is nuts considering it's been out for nearly two years. Also, at least one game from the Civilization series. I can't decide whether to recommend IV or V. I like V's hex grid and lack of unit stacking, and it's probably more new-player friendly, but IV has more complex systems and a lot of people like that. I'd also second FLD's comment about the Deus Ex Steam sale currently going on, and also agree that unless you find a really good deal on something you should probably wait for the summer sale on Steam. That'll help you fill up your library real quick, for very little dough.
  11. December 31st is Amazon's default date for "it's coming out sometime this year"
  12. Ah, okay. That I can agree with.
  13. Yeah, the reason I hadn't preordered it yet is I wanted to wait and see how long the inevitable delay is going to be.
  14. Based on the rest of that comment I think he's just (badly) saying that those aren't actually 360 graphics (since it's on OXM's site). Cause he goes on to say that he hopes they can do a good job on 360. I really really really hope that's how it is.
  15. You should be fine for RAM, unless you plan on having a lot of players. IIRC a Minecraft server requires ~75MB of RAM per active player, so even if you limit the server to 1GB of your 2GB that's still ~13 players simultaneously. Plus RAM is cheap and you could always upgrade if need be.
  16. I'll play through the new ending at least once, but at this point I've kind of lost interest in the whole game.
  17. No, I don't think it should be a crime, and I'm not sure where I stand on the civil side of it, I'm just saying that calling it a popular movement isn't justification for making it legal.
  18. Just finished Quantum Conundrum. Took about 4 hours. I liked it, though the ending was rather abrupt. I'm not sure why people had a problem with the writing; it wasn't as good as Portal, sure, but it didn't seem to me like it was trying to be like Portal.
  19. What if there was a "popular movement" to steal drunk people's wallets? Should the law then not ban that? Calling something a popular movement doesn't give it automatic legitimacy.
  20. Right, that's what they were saying yesterday, now they've changed their tune because people didn't like it.
  21. If the cable's only $3 then that makes it even more stupid, because they could easily have just included it in the package without upping the cost. For me at least it's the principle of the thing, not how much extra it costs to get the cable. Re: Mario, I agree that that game seems particularly well-suited to added levels. It's so modular to start with. Source? Everything I've read says it doesn't have an AC adapter in Europe or Japan, and that there's been no announcement about NA.
