Yeah, it seemed to me like the only reason that game exists is so they can say "Resistance is on the Vita", not because they actually wanted to make a good game for the Vita.

Have you played the demo for Burning Skies? I've read that it's not very good and the demo did nothing to dispossess me of that notion.

Yeah, that does seem like a pretty good analogy. Maybe it will end up like marijuana then: the authorities trying to crack down on it with no hope of stopping it, but never changing their ways.

Not SOL, you just have to buy a power cable separately. That way they can lie and say it's only $199 instead of $220 or whatever.

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/06/22/blizzard-declares-diablo-starter-edition-snafu-unintended/ So now Blizzard is saying the Starter Edition limitation is unintended, and was a consequence of these other, lesser restrictions. I think they did it on purpose and after the backlash they started backpedaling, kind of like EA with that iOS Rock Band thing a while ago. These restrictions don't seem too bad, except the inability to share loot.

From http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/22/new-3ds-coming-to-us-august-19-for-199-99/ This is completely fucking ridiculous.

I have a G5 for gaming, but my regular keyboard is some shitty ViewSonic thing I got 7 years ago for $11. Still works perfectly, so I'd say it was a good investment. *Edit* - Come to think of it, it's the only part still remaining from the first PC I built from scratch.

Nah, I imagine they'll look back on it like we look on the Wild West: somewhat romantically, but ultimately glad that Law was established.

You can play WoL offline, you just can't unlock achievements. It does require a one-time activation the first time you play, but it's not a constant thing, or even an every-time-you-play thing.

I'm looking forward to AC3: Liberation. That game is actually what sold me on getting a Vita (and then my impatience sold me on getting it now instead of in October).

Or they might have been wrong. Beyond is the only pending game on her IMDb page.

She's not in The Last of Us.

Maybe it's got something kinda like Gary's Mod.

I really need to clean off my desk. *Edit* - lest you should think that thing on the right monitor is a giant penis, it's the Mythbusters making a tower of soap by bubbling methane up through soapy water.

I do worry what it might do to food prices.
-
I got it, haven't had a chance to play it yet.

I think the only reason a lot of PC games aren't suited for consoles is the lack of kb/m support. There's no reason not to play console games on a PC though, unless it's a REALLY shitty port, since as soon as you've got the game booted and a pad in your hand it doesn't matter what box it's running on.

Oh man, I used to watch Lupin the Third on Adult Swim back in high school/college.

See I actually prefer having digital copies. They're often nearly perfect, and I'm anal about not damaging books to the point where I feel like I can barely touch them. For reading comics digitally I quite like my Nook Tablet. The screen is a little small if that's your primary purpose, a 10-inch screen would be nicer (like an iPad, as much as I hate Apple). 10 inches feels too big to me for most regular books though if comics aren't your primary consideration, and I really like the 7 inch Nook Tablet screen for that.

Well and I'd totally understand waiting a while on HotS to make sure it doesn't have any hidden issues before diving in.

Support rep says What a load of crap.

I don't see why console games shouldn't be on PC. We have game pads.
-
By "my game" do you mean Diablo 3? If so I don't see the logic in refusing to get game X that doesn't do anything wrong because of game Y which does a lot of things wrong, even if they're published by the same company. And by "this bullshit" I meant anything to do with requiring a constant connection, I won't get HotS if it has that.

http://www.cnn.com/2012/06/21/politics/senate-farm-bill/index.html So the Senate passed a bill that overhauls farm supports. I only know what's in that article, but in principle replacing direct subsidies with crop insurance seems like a good way to go, and $24 billion in savings is nothing to sneeze at. I wish it had elaborated more on the changes to food stamps though.

I really hope Heart of the Swarm doesn't have to deal with this bullshit.
