Alright, so chapter 7 of Valkyria Chronicles kicked my ass, now I'm discouraged and looking for a new game to play. I'd wanted to play Gods and Kings today but when Steam says June 18 apparently it actually means 12:00 AM on June 19.

That might be my favorite thing ever.

You can play Mario Kart Wii with a Gamecube controller, making it actually fun.

TBH, I thought it was retarded that they even made MNR 1 instead of a LBP kart game from the very moment they announced it. You already have this established Play/Create/Share brand, why would you try to make essentially the same thing in a kart game and not use that license?

Haven't played this game yet (waiting for my replacement Vita since I plan to reformat my memory card and so don't want to start now) but from general experience that kind of thing is the hardest to decide. Is it just crap now and I need to upgrade it, or will it always be crap and will upgrading be a waste of points?

Yeah, that's part of what made it so weird: the adult voices of the actual TLA characters were just fine, so why was this one so crappy, given that it wasn't even the same person?

I was mad that it was on the PSP because I didn't have a PSP. Now it's not listed as compatible with Vita, and supposedly you can put it on the Vita if you buy it on the PS3 and transfer it, but I'm not inclined to test and end up with a wasted purchase if it doesn't work.

I've also been working on Valkyria Chronicles this weekend. And somehow my wife forgot we had LBP2 (got it with the Move bundle) and so now that she's realized it she's been wanting to play that with me a lot.

Huh, everything I've read says they are... Anyway, I would like to learn to play an instrument, broaden my horizons and all that. I've tried guitar but I just can't stick with it, I think I'd be a lot more likely to if my training can be in game form. I know that it's only two-octave and so can't train me entirely to play on a full keyboard, but I figure it can give me enough of the basics that I'll be able to move to the full thing and not just be completely overwhelmed/discouraged by how much work it will take to learn it.

Great game. My mom really likes it. Also, played The Resistance with my wife, sisters and parents Wednesday night, everyone really enjoyed it. We're going to try it again on Sunday with the extended family so we can see if it's different with 10 people (after a few games we got too good at reading each other with just six).

I'm reasonably convinced it's a marketing decision and inclined to believe the devs when they say it's not representative of the game. I did notice in the E3 demo that while Connor was fighting Redcoats, when he was talking to that American officer the officer was like "yay, help us take out these British" and Connor was basically like "fuck you, I only care about the Templar."
