  1. Wow, I'm gone all night and there are only like 3 new posts? What's going on?

  2. As a general principal reduction in overhead should -> reduction in sales price. That said, I don't know exactly how much less overhead there is in DD games as compared to retail, so I don't know if that reduction in price would actually matter (if it is only like $1/game then I agree it's silly to expect the price to come down).
  3. Also, I meant to come post in here when I finished Skyward Sword but I forgot: I believe Skyward Sword reinforces my reincarnation hypothesis. Inside the tags I discuss the very end of Skyward Sword, along with some earlier-in-the-game spoilers.
  4. I get this weird feeling... like something's changed...
  5. lol, Battra, I can't help but feel that you're intentionally missing the point of the thread. *Edit* - Basically it's a list of games that we enjoy SO MUCH that we continue to play them over and over again despite the fact that there is absolutely nothing new in subsequent playthroughs. Because the general, "objective" meaning of "replay value" is that you get something out of repeat playthroughs that you didn't get out of the original.
  6. My TV will pass surround sound just fine, the problem I have is that the devices recognize that they're connected to a TV that only has stereo speakers so they only send stereo sound out. The only device that does it properly is my PS3 because I can manually force it to surround sound, and then it works fine. I don't worry too much about it though, I just let the Dolby Pro Logic do its thing. It's good enough for me most of the time.
  7. One of my favorite things about my new TV was the fact that it had multiple HDMI inputs, so it significantly reduced the number of wires I had running around behind the TV. Now everything plugs into the TV with HDMI (except the Wii), and I have 1 optical audio cable running from the TV to the sound system.
  8. In seriousness though, I feel like quest NPCs should be immune from random ass shit like that. I mean, it's one thing if I kill the essential character, but it's quite another if a random world event does it. Although it might make up for it if that then puts in a dialog option for you to tell the master "I'm sorry, but a dragon ate your dog."
  9. I can't get over the perfect timing with the dragon frying the dog right after it says "things got a little... heated."
  10. Yeah, there were some serious problems with the interrogations. I actually saw a post about it recently on I think Joystiq.
  11. Yeah, with digital cables the only time quality matters is if it's so shitty it just doesn't work. Once you cross the threshold into "it works" a $5 cable works just as well as a $50 cable.
  12. I flipping loved LA Noire for $60. As for the DLC, it really depends on how much you like the game, because the DLC is just more cases.
  13. I don't really see a problem with Halo's level design. I think the worst that can be said about it is that it's often boring by today's standards,
  14. So I went to make a list of the games that I beat this year that actually came out this year. It's pretty pathetic: Skyward Sword Portal 2 Catherine LA Noire From Dust Homefront World of Keflings Stacking I'm going to blame that on the fact that I spent a solid 3 months studying for the bar and not having time to play games.
  15. I think the general consensus is that there's no replay value if subsequent playthroughs don't give you anything new as compared to your first one. It's the same every single time, but you keep playing it over and over again anyway.
  16. RESURRECT! Halo. I recently played Anniversary and loved every second of it. I can't even begin to count the number of times I played through the original version.
  17. lol, yes, and I've played some of those too. See: the top of this page.
  18. Right, and then I beat Anniversary when it came out this year. @Battra: I already played Wind Waker in preparation for Skyward Sword. And I did fucking love it.
  19. Speaking of which, I forgot to post this when I beat it on like the 18:
  20. Meh, do whatever you want. I've posted a couple of games in here that I'd beat before (though always when it was an HD remake). There aren't really rules, this is just fun to talk about/compare e-peens.
  21. Generally you're only supposed to post in here if you just beat it for the first time. But it's not like we'll ban you if you do... or will we?
  22. I found those trials quite peaceful when it's in sleepy-mode, but as soon as the guardians wake up it gets very stressful very quickly.
  23. BACKRONYM! I knew there was a word for it, I just couldn't think of what it was.
