  1. I want a Kindle, but I'm holding out to see if v2 of the Fire has storage expansion slots.
  2. Verticle speed is controlled by your framerate? In what universe does that makes sense?
  3. Joystiq gave it a 4.5/5. Said that lying within it is the best Zelda game of all time, but that at some parts it's covered up by needless filler. Said even without the filler it would have been 25-30 hours, and the brilliance still has plenty of time to shine through. That was the only negative comment they had about the entire game.
  4. Skyrim has completely destroyed this forum's activity. Now how am I supposed to kill time?

I bought Skyrim but all it does is crash my PC so it looks like I'm in the same boat as you.

I bought Skyrim but it makes me so dizzy. So I can't play either! But I really want to!

I bought Skyrim on PC and FUH SHO RAH

  5. Yeah but in Fable you weren't really crafting, they were just minigames to get money. The fact that a sword was produced was simply a visual flourish, it wasn't a real sword in the world and it didn't actually affect anything at all. And if they're going to have it so you can still be attacked while in a convo then they REALLY shouldn't have made it so that NPCs can interrupt you while in combat. There should also be some kind of handling of the situation where you get attacked while in a convo, instead of everyone just pretending like nothing's happening. ("Hold that thought while I deal with the guy who just hit me in the face with an axe...")
  6. I can't help but feel this is appropriate.
  7. I was this close to downvoting that...
  8. @Rocky: the video from the GT review was the 360 version of the game, so of course there are low-res textures.
  9. Maybe it uses Bink in the intro splash screens? Or the credits or something?
  10. The closest thing to a launch day deal I ever see is that sometimes Steam will give you 10% off for a preorder, or Amazon will give you a $10 or $20 Amazon credit (which admittedly for me is as good as just knocking the price down that much since I shop on Amazon all the time). Of course, I live in a small town, so if I want to shop for games anywhere other than Walmart I have to drive an hour to Wichita. And even that isn't big (~300k people), so my only options there are Walmart, Best Buy, and Gamestop. I've never seen a mom and pop store that sells games.
  11. I voted for "maybe one day" because I don't feel the need to get it immediately and I feel like that kind of encompasses "once the price drops" *Edit* - I'd say at a glance Red Dead looked better, but that's because 90% of the game was open desert. It's not that the engine was doing a better job, it's that the stuff it was rendering is easier to make look good. *Edit 2* - Waiting for it to drop in price might not be such a good plan, as Oblivion is still $20 for the GOTY, and $25 for the mega-super-GOTY.
  12. And here I've been thinking how Skyrim looks shit tons better than any of their other games...
  13. Sequels not explaining wtf happened in the games that came before. Even if I played the game before, odds are it's been a while. Forgive me if I can't remember all the details of its needlessly convoluted plot, I still don't want to be left completely lost. Even if it's just an option on the main menu to watch a video that quickly recaps what happened in the previous game, please give me something.
  14. That's something I think lots of games could do better at: explaining wtf happened in the previous games.
  15. I love how my mind automatically reads that in an Elcor voice.
  16. (Italics added) OMG HANNAR CONFIRMED AS PLAYABLE IN COOP! Seriously though, there's a p good Q&A with Jesse Houston on the Bioware Blog.
  17. But with disc copies of Steamworks titles you get the best of both worlds. Lose the disc? You've still got it registered on Steam and can download it. Steam flakes out? You still have the disc version. And if I lose them or they break then I would feel entirely justified in pirating a replacement copy. Also I've never lost or broken a game disc.
  18. They're not worth $60 to me, but I can see if you're someone who plays the multiplayer constantly all year until the next one comes out then $60 for a year's worth of entertainment isn't too bad.
  19. Yeah, nothing wrong with incantations, maybe it's just something about the name "Shouts" that bothers me. I guess I should just be glad they didn't try to go all EndWar on us and have us actually scream into a microphone to use them. *Edit - Now that I think about it, that actually might have been kinda cool...
  20. Oh yeah, I don't have a problem with the magicky aspect of it, I just think the idea of you screaming a word in dragon language to make something happen is kind of dumb. If they'd just called it "dragon magic" and had it just be something that you can do, I'd have been fine with it (even though that's kind of a boring name).
  21. I'm gonna say it: the whole "shouts" thing? Kinda dumb.
  22. I feel basically the same as Strangelove. I logged in to Home when I first got my PS3 to see what it was about, went "huh" and never logged in again. I have no interest in it, and don't even know what it would need to get me interested.
  23. One of the rumors has it launching in 2012, but I don't see that happening. If it launched in 2012 it would have to launch around holiday, and they already have Halo 4 launching on the 360 holiday 2012. I really doubt they'd launch the 720 right around the same time they're launching a Halo game on the 360.
