  1. I'd roll my eyes too but I mostly play FPS on my Xbox. I'll roll my eyes cause I'm not much of a shooter fan either (outside of Halo, which admittedly is a really big plus for Xbox) but I still like my Xbox.
  2. I imagine that's especially true on PS3. The DS3's analog sticks blow for shooters. I mean, I hate the sticks generally, but they make shooters unplayable. So, to make this post about your birthday present less negative: I'm glad you're enjoying your alternate control mechanism.
  3. Alright, so with Hydrophobia: Prophecy coming out soon I thought I'd move this thread over to multiplat, rename it a bit and give it a bump. It looks like there are a lot of awesome improvements for Prophecy over vanilla Hydrophobia, and even over Pure. I'm trying to figure out if those improvements will ever see their way to XBLA though. If not I'm going to be a little upset with DarkEnergy. I bought the XBLA version when it was on sale a while ago but haven't gotten around to playing it yet. Apparently though Prophecy changes the backstory and the ending and such. I don't feel like I'm entitled to all the additional content necessarily, but the changes to the backstory and ending seem like something that will affect how the rest of the games in the series play out. *Edit* - Well I asked DarkEnergy about it on Twitter, and they said they're trying to bring the Prophecy updates to the XBLA version, but it's early in their discussions with MS and they're not sure if it's going to work out or not. At least now I know that if it doesn't come to XBLA it's not DarkEnergy's fault.
  4. Agreed. I spent 12 hours on it. That's more than a lot of $60 games.
  5. Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare I'd forgotten how much I loved RDR. I want more of it.
  6. I also like Desmond/the modern story component. I liked Ezio too, but I am ready to move on, this just makes it feel like the story is stagnating, even if they keep improving the gameplay (I agree Brotherhood was the best so far). And I don't mean that as "they're not developing the story anymore" so much as I mean the manner in which they're developing it is stagnating, which is going to make people lose interest. As for the multiplayer, I thought it was a terribly flawed execution of a wonderful idea. I haven't played it since a few weeks after launch though, so it's possible a lot of the issues I experienced have gotten better.
  7. Yeah, no kidding. I went to the Borders clearance sale here, and even when the blurays were 50% off they were STILL ludicrously overpriced.
  8. I went PS3 because I don't anticipate I'll get anywhere close to all the achievements/trophies, and I don't want to mess up my ratio on 360. This news just vindicates my decision.
  9. Bioware's Christina Norman: http://twitter.com/#!/truffle/status/66325265936171008 So on that note I'm going to join HotChops in the optimistic camp.
  10. Yeah, if I understand the news about that correctly, the reason it uses less power is because they can pack them tighter, which means less wiring running between transistors. In a chip most of the power consumption is due to resistance on the wires between the transistors, so if they can use less wire that means less resistance and lower power usage.
  11. I don't see what PS3 consumers have to do with it being more pro-RPG. PS3 has plenty of brotastic games, and is home of the single most brotastic game ever made: God of War.
  12. This makes me a sad panda. I loved AC2 and I liked Brotherhood even more, but I am fucking sick of Ezio! It's time to move on.
  13. Fucking wonderful. Sony breach, so I switch to LastPass with unique, secure passwords to everything. Now Laspass isn't working so I can't log in to ANYTHING. FML

LastPass. I actually thought about using it, since I have a lot of passwords.

But then I realized that would be stupid. >_<

It's like putting all your eggs in one basket, and that doesn't really sit well with me.

Yeah, according to LastPass based on the amount of data transferred they can't have gotten more than the master password/e-mail list, and I've already reset my master password.

  14. Yeah, that makes me nervous too. The sad thing is, no matter how bad they fuck it up, I'm so invested in the ME series at this point that I won't be able to just skip it. At most I'll be able to wait for a small price drop/Amazon sale. Here's hoping it's not what it sounds like though. From what Bioware folks have been saying they really took to heart the "it's not RPG enough" criticism of ME2, so I would hope they wouldn't then backtrack on that. Guess we'll see at E3.
  15. What I learned ITT: Apparently Half Life 2 is the creepiest game ever made.
  16. Hahaha, that reminds me of this guy I know, his last name is Freeman. Well it freaked him the fuck out when he started Half-Life 2 and He hadn't played Half Life 1, and didn't know the main character was named Freeman.
  17. It's a good idea though, maybe I'll do that later.
  18. Are you saying you're lazy or very forgetful, Ethan? I played it several times, so while I remember all the parts I don't remember what I did at each part on any given playthrough, especially my first playthrough, which is the one I would consider the "real" one for the purposes of this thread.
  19. I added spoiler tags. I doubt anyone will care, but some people are crazy about spoilers.
  20. This isn't a video game, but the way the girl in The Ring moves creeps me the fuck out. As far as video games go, the thing that creeped me out the most that I can think of is the -zombies? I don't even know what to call them- from Deadly Premonition. Not actually the zombies themselves, but the sounds they make, especially the ones that moan "Don't want to die...." as they're evaporating into the ground. Quite unsettling to me.
  21. I bet even the iso one would help you learn to interpret the ASCII though.
  22. OMG! Those graphics patches look like they might make it actually comprehensible!
  23. Yeah, I wish I could remember what I did during my playthrough...
  24. Just occurred to me that if Dead Space counts as a zombie game then that's my favorite zombie game ever.
