PSN users' personal details compromised

I'm in the exact same boat as Strangelove and Faiblesse with Arkham Asylum. Also, I tried to sign up for a Japanese PSN account a while ago, but it wouldn't let me do it in any language other than Japanese, and I can't read Japanese, so I didn't know what I was supposed to be putting in each box. -
There were on PC. PC games have had patches since I can remember. Just back in the day instead of auto-patching you had to go find it on teh wild interwebs.
-
To this day I don't understand what people see in that abomination of a Zelda game.

I tried the demo and wasn't impressed, but everyone raves about it so much that I feel obligated to try the full game. -

The US blog entry said it is for each account that was in existence prior to the outage. So you can't make a bunch of accounts now, but any you already had should be able to get games. That's assuming it works the same in US and EU. -

inFamous and Wipeout for me. And then my fiancee will get to pick two games too, so we can get four of the five. Works out well, since we already have LittleBigPlanet. -
I won't, but it is a nifty option. Come to think of it, you can play any game you want in black and white: just turn the saturation on your TV/monitor all the way down.

Most Steam users launch Steam daily, and there's a little window that pops up informing you of the deal, so little danger of missing it.

They posted a similar blog post on the US PSN blog, and that one is pretty clear that the free games are only going to be available for free download for 30 days, but if you download them within that window then you get to keep them forever. It's probably the time limit on downloading them that's causing confusion. -
Oh, they may be intending to add DX11 support with a post-release patch, but from what I've read at least at launch it's DX9 only.
-
Yeah, this looks cool, but like about $10 worth of cool.
-
You can't run it in DX11, it's DX9 only.

Infamous and Dead Nation for me so! I'd wager a LOT of people have LBP, Wipeout HD and Ratchet and Clank QFB though. How do we redeem our games? Also, I know inFamous will be one of mine, but I already have LBP and none of the others seem especially appealing. Too bad PS3 users don't get Mod Nation Racers. *Edit* - Nevermind, when I saw Wipeout I was thinking of that boat racing game, but Wipeout HD actually looks cool. -
God, I can't imagine dropping $60 on a game based on absolutely nothing but the name. That Halo Wars mistake would require that they not even glance at the back of the box.

Oh come on, you know it's ridiculous to suggest that publishing on 3 platforms makes the game cost 3 times as much to develop.
-
It shows a lack of effort going into the review though, if they're not even bothering to talk about the people who actually made the game but just the publisher. *Edit* - Just out of curiosity, since the lack of multiplayer means it doesn't really matter, but which platform did everyone get it on? I got it for PS3.

This. I don't mind multiplat games, it's just when they shaft the PC version to make it multiplat. I've been playing Dirt 2 on PC, and it's amazing, I freaking love it. It's also multiplat. I did the same with Arkham Asylum, and I have no complaints about that game. Then there's stuff like Homefront, which says "Press A to skip" during cutscenes, even when you're on PC with no controller connected. Can you imagine the bitching if they had left a message on PS3 that said "Press A to skip"? It's obvious they put absolutely no effort into the PC version, and I think PC gamers are entitled to be miffed by that, just like 360 or PS3 gamers would be in a similar situation.

To further add to that: often console games are up on torrent sites a week or two before launch, but PC games almost always take several days *after* launch before a working copy goes up.

Maybe it was just a weirdness for me then, cause I've bought several things through PSN. -
That used to happen to me at The Old Country, so I got in the habit of doing a ctrl+c any time I write anything long.
-
Yeah, it smells like BS to me.

I did it on the only PS3 I've ever owned... I tried to sign in and it was like "you need to change your password, we sent an e-mail to the e-mail address linked to this account". Got that e-mail about 15 minutes later. -
... I didn't vote for Super Mario World. I hope that's just a mis-type and not a mis-count.
-
I agree with this 100%. And like I said earlier, almost every PC game that you could conceivably want to use a controller with has the option to do so. Even FPS. *shudder*

Yeah, I'm hoping the store will be back in time for me to get my LA Noire bonus content on Tuesday.
