  1. So how did she end up with it for free? I'm confused. @Cyber Rat: Haha, I'd play it with you, but I suck terribly. I got it for my fiancee cause she loves it.
  2. How does EA gimp the PC version? I heard people complaining about how slow the aiming is, but it was crazy slow on console too.
  3. Actually I was playing it on a PS2. Didn't have a PS3 at the time. The HD collections aren't upscaled though, they're actually rendered at 1080p. And I tried an emulator for SotC, but it would only run at 10 fps, no matter what settings I had it on. My brother had the same problem. Apparently PCSX2 doesn't get along as well with Ico games as it does with some other games. Never tried Ico though.
  4. And resolution can make a big difference. For instance, when I played Ico on the PS2 I played it on an HDTV, but half the time I still couldn't tell wtf was going on cause it was so pixelated and the camera views were from so far out. A resolution increase will fix problems like that.
  5. My fiancee spent the night playing her new copy of BlazBlue Calamity Trigger that just arrived in the mail, so we didn't do our special night. <.< We're doing it tonight though.
  6. Just got it in the mail, and apparently it's actually a brand-new, factory-sealed copy, not just the "excellent" used copy they marked it as.
  7. My fiancee played it at my friend's house and really liked it, so I bought it for like $10 used.
  8. Here, maybe my really pathetic attempt at a visual explanation might help : And yes, this is a problem with console games, PCs don't care about this kind of stuff You mean they default to it being side-by-side, and won't let you stack them instead? That's weird and would irritate me too, but I don't play much couch multi except Halo, and Halo's stacked.
  9. http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/13/study-ps3-has-highest-percentage-of-online-systems-in-u-s/ As of last April PS3 has 78% online, 360 has 73%. So it's not as low as I thought, but that 25% of users still isn't anything to sneeze at.
  10. I think that was always a silly assertion with the PC games though. By the time Half Life 2 was coming out, sure there were a lot of people without internet, but most PC gamers had internet access. Consoles, on the other hand, are more of a "casual" market than the PC, and so it's not so much that people don't have the internet at all as that they don't have their console hooked up. It's probably less of an issue with the PS3 though than it would be with the 360, since PS3 has built-in WiFi.
  11. Well yeah, calling it a legend was an exaggeration to say the least. But I was hoping it would be this thing that would always be in "active development" and yet never actually come out.
  12. That'll lose them a lot of sales though, I think. It's a lot more common for people to not have their consoles hooked up to the network than for people to not have their computer hooked up.
  13. It can only check if the key has been used though if you're connecting to the net. Thus my comment about it not mattering as long as you keep it offline.
  14. I marked FPS, though I'm not really sure I should have. I don't like most FPSs very much, but there are a few I REALLY REALLY love. Enough that it's more than "I just like this one game."
  15. Are you just trying to seem deep, or do you actually mean something by that post?
  16. I disagree with your last statement, and submit that "just" and "fair" are in fact synonyms.
  17. I'm still pissed that they're actually releasing it. I wanted it to stay in dev-hell forever, as this legend.
  18. Your terminology confuses me. Do you mean you like the 2 sub-screens of local MP to be on top of each other or beside each other?
  19. There's a book? I watched the anime. I'm planning on giving Dead Space 1 a replay this weekend to remind myself wtf happened (and cause I impulse-bought it on a Steam sale and haven't played it on PC yet).
  20. Since it was in the jailbreak thread I figured we were talking about piracy. As for used games, it still doesn't kill that market completely. Again, it only kills the online-play market, but for a lot of games that doesn't really matter.
  21. Because it doesn't stop piracy. AT MOST it will stop online pirated play. But you can still pirate as long as you don't let the PS3 connect to the net, cause then there's no way for it to check the key. People will make keygens.
  22. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. 1080p film grain....
  23. Also "carry-out". In the US "take away" means what information you get out of a situation, or what the core point was. For example, "The take away from that after school special was that drugs are bad."
