    Yeah, I guess what I was really trying to say is that "metro" isn't a generic American term. The generic term in America is subway. If any specific system has a different name than that, it's more of a proper noun, like the El in Chicago.

    I just checked my shelf, and the only games that don't have a logo on the spine are published by Nintendo.

    Well Chicago's is the El cause large portions of it aren't subways, they're elevated above ground. I didn't mean though that no one in America uses the term "metro", just that that's not a general American term.

    I'm working on Starcraft II's campaign right now. I started it back when the game came out, but then I got distracted by other games and mostly have only been playing SC2's multiplayer with my friends, but now that I'm back into the singleplayer I'm liking it a lot. They were a lot more creative with objectives and level design than they were in the first game.

    Yeah, basically all I ever hear about GTAIV is how it's so bad compared to the other games in the series.

    I don't hate it, I'm just a little miffed with Bioware because they decided to go more action-oriented with it, which basically entails throwing out everything I liked about DA1.

    I think I like the PS3 one better, which is sad because I'll probably get the 360 one. Unless there's no NA release, then I'll import the PS3 one cause the PS3 isn't region locked.

      haha, I know right? I ordered it like 5 days before it got hacked, but it only got here today. Hackers didn't damage anything though, thankfully, created new characters rather than fucking with my ones I already had.

      They're pretty much a dead giveaway since they all say something about my "WoW account". Thing is, I don't play WoW. That sifts them out pretty well.

    School hasn't started yet, so I'm still on Christmas break. I start classes again on Jan 21. On topic: Marked off Greed Corp and Splosion Man. I got a good distance into both of them, and I'm just not really enjoying them anymore. Gonna tackle Starcraft II now.

    FINALLY beat Shadow Complex. I beat it in 5 hours and 30 minutes, and it took me like a week. I blame the MNC people for tearing me away, and my IRL friends for making me play Starcraft with them. Now to decide what to play next...

    I will definitely grant you that the art was both bland and ugly, though I thought the visuals for the different powers were cool. But I was actually replying to Dean's post about having to look up wtf happened after he beat it.

    I know all of that, and I do have quite a large number of digitally-purchased PC games. I'm just saying that unless there's a significant price difference, I prefer the physical copy because, as I said, I don't have the hard drive space to back up all my PC games, and so I would prefer a method of storing them that did not rely on someone else's servers.

    I don't have enough hard drive space to keep all my games backed up like that. And I know Valve has said that, and I'd be more inclined to trust them than most other companies, but the only real trust I'm willing to put in any company is trust that they will do whatever they perceive to be most financially beneficial to themselves.

    Ordinarily I'd say it's pretty bad, but it definitely fits with the retro-scifi feel of that game.

    I will ALWAYS choose a physical copy over a digital copy if they are comparable in price. I don't trust MS/Steam/whomever enough that they won't some day pull my media off the server, denying me access to it. If I have a physical copy then I have control over it.

    I'm not defending shitty localizations. I was just surprised that she cared enough about the Japanese Mass Effect port specifically to go on a little mini-rant about it, given that it doesn't directly affect her. That's all. I'm not even surprised that she cares (though I realize my initial post wasn't worded properly to get my actual question across), just at how much she cares.
