  1. I know all of that, and I do have quite a large number of digitally-purchased PC games. I'm just saying that unless there's a significant price difference, I prefer the physical copy because, as I said, I don't have the hard drive space to back up all my PC games, and so I would prefer a method of storing them that did not rely on someone else's servers.
  2. I don't have enough hard drive space to keep all my games backed up like that. And I know Valve has said that, and I'd be more inclined to trust them than most other companies, but the only real trust I'm willing to put in any company is trust that they will do whatever they perceive to be most financially beneficial to themselves.
  3. Ordinarily I'd say it's pretty bad, but it definitely fits with the retro-scifi feel of that game.
  4. I will ALWAYS choose a physical copy over a digital copy if they are comparable in price. I don't trust MS/Steam/whomever enough that they won't some day pull my media off the server, denying me access to it. If I have a physical copy then I have control over it.
  5. I DON'T! I was just curious, then she started writing these giant responses. She satisfied my curiosity with her first reply.
  6. I'm not defending shitty localizations. I was just surprised that she cared enough about the Japanese Mass Effect port specifically to go on a little mini-rant about it, given that it doesn't directly affect her. That's all. I'm not even surprised that she cares (though I realize my initial post wasn't worded properly to get my actual question across), just at how much she cares.
  7. I think it is unusual, in the sense of "most people wouldn't feel as strongly as you appear to."
  8. I never said you cared too much, just that you seem to care more than I would have expected from someone who isn't directly affected by it. I never even said that was a bad thing, just that I was surprised. Calm down.
  9. How has the snow been melting if it's so cold?
  10. GoWIII is pretty streamlined, there are a few puzzles, but nothing terrible, and they actually fit in with the story very nicely. You should really play it, it's fantastic. So what you're saying is, the reduced the number of puzzles? AKA reduced the only aspect of the game I might have enjoyed?
  11. Well here's mine: Green means I beat it, or if that term isn't appropriate, then I played it a lot. Multiple dots means I played it into the ground. Orange means I played it quite a bit, but never actually beat it. Yellow means I played it some. Blue means I played it on a console. There were some very noticeable omissions from this list. Like where the hell is Shogun: Total War?
  12. I agree. I don't really like FLUDD all that much, but really it was just as much fun as any other 3D Mario.
  13. So you seek out spoilers before playing the game? You must love the Super Spoilers thread then.
  14. Well, couldn't you just as easily ask why someone would "care enough" to purchase a collector's edition over a standard edition, period? People purchase collector's editions because they like the extra content and memorabilia. If he purchased a standard edition of the game at launch and really enjoyed it, then why is it so unusual that he would purchase a collector's edition for the OST, "making" DVD, artbook, and other stuff at a later date? Those incentives still retain their value. Their value isn't limited to the standalone value of the game itself. Right, my question is: if you want that stuff, why not just buy the collector's/limited edition right off the bat. Or, if for whatever reason you don't (too expensive or whatever) why keep the regular edition after you've bought the collectors?
  15. I liked Prototype a lot, and I didn't think the twist was stupid. Also, why do you always know the end of games before you play them?
  16. Socks all the way. Course I have bad circulation in my toes, so my feet will be cold even if it's like 80 F in the house.
  17. Yeah, I knew they were different editions, I just couldn't imagine why anyone would buy more than one. Now that I have some reasons, I must admit I'm still somewhat surprised that someone would care enough to do that.
  18. All of that would lead me to expect you to care about this much: Your next paragraph explains why you care more than that, though.
  19. Here are my 360 games: My PS3, Wii, and GCN games, and my blurays: And finally my PC games : Why do you have multiple copies of each game?
  20. This thread contains posts split from HERE. While I agree with you that it's strange and/or stupid, I must ask: why do you care? You're not Japanese. It seems like the extent of your Care would be "huh, that's weird, and kinda dumb."
  21. Do people still say that? I had to sit there for a few seconds trying to figure out wtf you meant before realizing you were referring to the time. All I could think of was the Borg.
  22. Packing stuff up to leave my parents' tomorrow, might be the last time I post until tomorrow night.
