  1. Well, games which have dead online make all their online achievements like that. Yeah, I know they're trying to generate interest for the online component ... but did they honestly think people would be playing Fracture more than a month after it came out? I am Bad Company! is one of the biggest examples of 'no way you can get it legit'. One of the 120 (!) awards you need is to get 50 boat 'road' kills (which usually means running someone over who's swimming). Those NEVER EVER EVER happen except for the rarest of circumstances. It should've been 1 kill if anything, definitely not 50 ...
  2. You guys are getting mixed messages. The only thing they're disabling for the Cerberus Network are the daily news updates that show up in the main menu. They said there will be a few more before a piece of DLC sometime, and before the launch of ME3. None of the content is being taken down. Anyways, as for the topic at hand, I'm not really feeling EA's project thingy. Mainly because I'm a used game buyer, and secondly because all the versions of it I've encountered sucked. At least do something actually worthwhile, not the bare minimum.
  3. So Microsoft just fixed the achievements for the Dark Void DLC ... 11 months after it came out. Now to go find a copy ... at least I know it will be cheap
  4. Two things. First, you can knife the same friends 5 times and get the achievement. You can't do it in a private match (I don't believe you can do any of the BC2 achievements, and most online achievements, that way). And second, you need to be on opposite teams. BUT, if you join a friend's game and get put on their side, there's a trick you can do to switch sides. Make sure the other team has empty slots, then remember one of the gamertags on that team. Go to the Guide > Friends > Recent Players, find that person, and choose 'Join Session in Progress' from their profile, Voila, you're on the other team.
  5. Wii Gamecube (I might have given it to someone ... still, I own a Wii, so duct taped Gamecubes etc.) DS Lite (Suffered from the early 'faulty hinges' problem, so it's now partially held together by white duct tape - two random duct tape references!) Xbox 360 Annnnnd ... that's it. Previously owned a Gameboy Colour, Gameboy Advance SP, and an SNES.
  6. I think the ME2 cover is bad for a few reasons ... namely the colouring, the stupid poses, and fugly default Shep. The Collector's Edition art is sweet ... then you find out it's only on a flimsy cardboard holding box (the actual tin case also has default Shep on it. BLEH)
  7. Annnnd the first day back to school was awful. YAY

  8. Kinda looks like Animal Crossing ... don't think it is, I'mma guess that anyways.
  9. Okay, how about this: You can change your mind as much as you want, but I will only count your last guess. I will completely ignore anything else you may have posted before that, even if the correct answer is among them. Sounds good to me.
  10. Maybe more like ... 3 titles or something before you respond to it? 1 seems kinda unfair too, it might come to you right after you post or something.
  11. Funny enough, that damn window reminded me of Timesplitters 2, couldn't remember the guns in that game though.
  12. Dragon's Lair 3D: Return to the Lair
  13. This thread is now about pizza. Living in Canada, you end up in a sort of middle-ground. We keep the u's in our words, but we share a bunch of slang/expressions with the US (and of course we've got some of our own ).
  14. I always see people say one or the other is better, and I don't really understand that. It really depends on the game ... I don't hate either one off the bat, it's how it's implemented on a case-by-case basis that matters for me. Same goes for things like saving points vs. saving anywhere. I can only imagine how lame Dead Rising would be with regenerating health and saving anywhere. And other games I like the regenerating health, or a mix of the two that they've implemented.
  15. I still had fun with the part as well, mostly cause after a few runs, I got to the end and shot the gnome into some bushes. I got out of the car, scrambled for a few seconds trying to find it, grabbed it and ran to the end - and I survived with exactly 1 health left
  16. Picked up Enslaved, Fist of the North Star, and Splinter Cell: Conviction for $40 total. Gotta love getting a good deal.
  17. Little Rocket Man is my favourite achievement ever. Had tons of fun with that one, way better without consulting a guide or getting tips.
  18. Mass Effect 2 totally belongs on this list (I can do it too! ) Tons of praise for taking one step forward, one step back.
  19. Trials HD ... I see nothing but love for that game, I think it's a piece of junk. At least I got it and the DLC on sale.
  20. I remember thinking Mile High Club would be difficult after hearing so many people say it was as such. Then I actually went and did it, got in on my second try. Same goes for 'Don't Get Cocky, Kid', now that I think about it 7 Day Survivor looks daunting ... but besides making the time for it, it's incredibly easy. Run around with your Mega Buster, kill some psychos, get a bunch of good healing items, sit in a corner and heal yourself when you get to very low health, repeat. The 'Saint' achievement for saving 50 survivors is MUCH harder IMO - you have to deal with the shitty survivor AI, plus you have to be very efficient with your time. Anyways ... the hardest achievements for me: In terms of skill (maybe patience) - All Hail The Splode King (Complete the Single Player game in Hardcore mode) in Splosion Man - You have to do a perfect no-death run in each and every level Aperture Science (Earn gold medals on all Portal challenges) in The Orange Box - The 'least portals' ones are easy, all the rest are a pain in the ass. Call of Duty: WaW on Veteran - SO MANY GRENADES The aformentioned Saint achievement in Dead Rising ... by extension, getting all the achievements in that game is a fairly big challenge In terms of time/dedication - Getting all online awards, and getting 10002 online kills in Bad Company 1 - Some of the awards are just way to counter-intuitive to how the game plays. So in other words, lots of boosting! 10th Prestige in Call of Duty: WaW - Just lots and lots and lots of playing - about 300 hours. As for ones I don't have ... how bout all those stupid online achievements in GTA4? Just annoying as hell.
  21. After hearing people talk about it every other day, I started up a new Mass Effect 2 file. Female Infiltrator (insert joke here), but besides that still a Paragon. I just don't like playing Renegade in ME. I also really don't like what some things default to if you don't carry over a save from the first game (I did play multiple characters in the first, but for some reason only my main is available for import). Letting the Council, Wrex, and some Feros colonists die, for example. Also, Infiltrator is kind of meh, I definitely like Soldier better.
  22. Alpha Protocol (I'm gonna answer with this a lot, aren't I) Blade Kitten Dark Void Too Human Tales of Symphonia 2 There's probably more, these are just off the top of my head.
  23. The Metroid Prime trilogy (the series as a whole, but these especially) have some absolutely awesome bosses. They all feel well-designed and have a good level on intricacy for whatever part of the game you're at. More than most games, I found they really emphasized the sense of reward and advancement - getting that last shot in and seeing the post-battle cutscene start up always felt awesome.
  24. I was super excited for this. Loved Legend, Anniversary, even Underworld. Looks great, sounds like a neat direction for the series, I was totally pumped. Then I heard they're adding multiplayer. For fuck's sakes ... GoL was fine ... it was clearly a spin-off. But I don't want multiplayer anywhere near the core franchise.
  25. Damn you, Doom Dragon from Golden Sun 2. Just so impossibly hard. I grinded for hours on end, took forever just to get a few levels. Still couldn't win. I had to play the entire god damn game again, so I could use the import feature to get better items + the incredibly broken secret summon before I could finally finish that son of a bitch.
