  1. The Witcher 2, Mass Effect 1 and I'm starting Metro 2033 later today.
  2. Frozen Synapse. Also, I know this is the wrong place, but I don't want to find the other thread. I bought a Das Keyboard Ultimate Silent. I'm so excited for it!
  3. I Am Tetsuo.

  4. Tim Rogers is the most stuck-up, arrogant man in games journalism. I remember that Q&A article he did where he refused to mention the Director of FFXIII by name because he hadn't 'Earned the right' for Tim Rogers to know his name. Who does this guy think he is, some kind of Rockstar? Everything about him makes me angry as shit. Irritating fellow.
  5. Are those just rumors or have any of those been confirmed?
  6. I'll play, but you'll all make fun of me because I suck. That's how it goes, I guess.
  7. How did I not know about these guys? At least one of them is Indian American. Sounds insensitive/racist, or whatever, but it's fucking cool when a rap group that's actually TALENTED mentions Indian icons in their songs and are embraced by many people. The minority I belonged to in my youth is finally getting a voice, and making good music along the way, and that feels fucking good. Today was a grey, awful day in Seattle, but learning about Das Racist has genuinely improved my mood.
  8. WTF: I'm glad someone else is going to be buying Persona 2. I'm afraid it's going to be another 'Persona PSP', a game that was marketed as "Hey, look, more Persona!", but is really a very different, considerably more retro in style, game. The same goes for P2. Innocent Sin has a bit more polish and is a much, much better game, yes, but it's still retro, and quite a bit more difficult than P3 or P4. That said, it is by far my favorite Persona game, and my fourth favorite Shin Megami Tensei game. It's brilliant, some of the plot mechanics are great, and the entire final act of the game is fucking awesome. It has a great atmosphere, too, and you can see that this is where the Persona games really started to get their own separate personality from SMT, a trend that all started with Shin Megami Tensei ...if. /rant So I bought a few things. Space Marine: I loved this game's campaign, just unlocked the customizer in multiplayer, but it feels a little stale, already. El Shaddai: About halfway through, somewhat uninspired to keep playing. Disgaea 4: Love this so far, but it's hard to put aside some time to really sink my teeth into it, and that makes me sad. Wii Wireless Sensor Bar: For playing Dolphin games. Very useful, works much better than two candles. Street Fighter III 3rd Strike Online: A classic game, very fun, very high skill ceiling, but not very balanced and has a slightly limited variety of characters when compared to SF4. One of the best fighting games ever.
  9. So I just saw Drive. Second favorite movie of the year after Tree of Life. Very good. If I had to pick one movie from this year to recommend that got wide release, I'd pick Drive. The soundtrack was brilliant, too. Give it a listen . EDIT: Forgot to mention I normally hate Ryan Gosling (pure jealousy), but in this he did an excellent job.
  10. Okay, that boss footage was pretty damn awesome. Also, it takes place in India (a fantasy version, obviously, but still India), which is what I've been hoping for a long time. It's the only reasonable setting for a game based on Buddhism with a main character named "Asura". This game's been on my radar for a while, but I hadn't seen that footage. I'd love to see some regular, non-boss gameplay, though, to see how navigating environments works out. All in all, I'm optimistic and excited for this game.
  11. I'm really, really new. Like, I started two days ago. But we should play. All of us. Steam Chat vs XTChat would be pretty cool. I am excite.
  12. Well, you're agreeing with my ranking so far, as well, if you remove the 4 and 5 from my ranking. I wouldn't knock the last two before you read them. The ranking of 3>2>1 is pretty common, it only gets divisive when 4 and 5 come in. Again, I totally see where people that dislike the last two are coming from, I just disagree. Give them a read and decide for yourself.
  13. I preferred Let the Right One In, and I'm not sure whether Let Me In is a remake of The Right One or the original. I was just trying to articulate an alternate point of view.
  14. Would you call Peter Jackson's the Hobbit a remake of the animated Hobbit film from the 70s? No, because it's just another adaptation of the source material. Same with Let the Right One In and Let Me In.
  15. Wait, which did you buy? I think Space Marine controls pretty damn well with the kb/m. Better than a controller, in fact. If you're talking about Dead Island, I don't know.
  16. I finished Super Mario Galaxy, my Persona 3 replay, my Twilight Princess replay and I finished Donkey Kong Country Returns. All but SMG were outstanding, SMG was good, but not great. Solid platformer.
  17. Disgaea 4, ME1 and El Shaddai. I've played ME1 many times, I'm thoroughly enjoying D4, and El Shaddai I'm only an hour into. I'm very curious as to which direction El Shaddai will move in. It's very, very, very strange so far and I'm feeling a little lost.
  18. So I don't know what to think about El Shaddai. I'll put in some more hours tomorrow and give impressions.

  19. Palm, definitely. The claw seems supremely uncomfortable.
  20. The Marvel Cinemaverse movies to me seem more targeted at younger audiences than stuff like First Class, the Dark Knight, and (at this point, this is how it seems) the Amazing Spider-Man. They're good movies, often, but I go in expecting cliches and plot holes. Iron Man 1 wasn't like that, but the rest were. I dunno.
  21. http://www.vg247.com/2011/09/08/the-day-i-realised-always-on-drm-moaners-have-a-point/ Read this. Seriously. To everyone that says people constantly have internet connection. The fact of the matter is people don't even constantly have reliable connection at home, and people in many areas can be totally without Wi-Fi hotspots. You are correct. I'll revise my statement. I disagree with their attitudes, because they are hurting a portion of their fanbase.
  22. I will not be buying it, and that's a strange assumption to make, and also a slightly offensive one. And no. Blizzard is doing what they're doing because they don't want people to pirate their game, and are using a draconian form of DRM without exploring alternate solutions because most people will buy the game anyway, while fucking a segment of their fanbase, the size of which is debateable, over. That's not okay. Also, what Vargras said about QFTing.
  23. Dragons are supposed to have four legs, wyverns only have two. It's nitpicking, but mildly irritating.
  24. Dex: Book five is actually very divisive. Many absolutely loved it, others feel like Chewie, here. Most would put book 4 below book 5. The reason people don't like book four is that the three characters people love most, Jon, Dany and Tyrion, aren't featured. Many feel that those characters tie the entire narrative together, but people like me disagree and enjoy characters like Jaime, Brienne Sam Tarly and Victarion Greyjoy. What it comes down to is taste. I'd stick with the series, myself, and decide for myself. I mean, some may be worse than others, but none of them were bad.
