  1. Impressive. Still not optimistic about the movie, though.
  2. I'm getting very excited for PAX Prime and the Protomen show that's happening afterward! Anyone else gonna be there?

  4. Heh, that looks funny. The first trailer wasn't great, but the second one had me chuckling. "You just brought a gun to a bomb fight, Officer!"
  5. Please decipher this sentence.
  6. No spoiling in the spoiler thread? I'm done with the book, so I wanna talk about it. I'll stick to early spoilers for now. You guys think Aegon's the real deal? Or do you think he's not a Targaryen? Or do you think Aegon's a 'mummer's dragon' just in the respect that Viserys was? Also, Aegon's definitely too old to be Jon Snow's twin. Not a bad theory, though. Also when This was my second favorite book in the series. After ASoS. Lots of shit happened and the whole book felt very tight. All the Jon chapters were excellent, as well as the Reek chapters. I was very satisfied with this book. The North Remembers!
  7. If I wasn't a lazy bastard, I would start a petition to change the name to 'Skyoshock'. Seems like a missed opportunity.
  8. Watched Splice... that was surprisingly unconventional.

Yeah, as far as original horror films go, it was pretty decent.

There was one scene that kind of threw me off, I won't say which one, but you know what I'm talking about.

  9. Should I reread LotR after I finish ADwD? Just the trilogy, not TH or TS.

Why not the Hobbit? Can understand skipping silmarillion.

I read the Hobbit recently, so it's fresh in my mind. It's my favorite Tolkien.

  10. So I'm not really speaking for anyone but myself here, because the controls worked for me, personally, though I would have preferred actual controls. I think, though, that if the controls are 'too hard' and aren't suiting a large group of people, and the group is large, then they don't have much merit. If a bunch of people have trouble using the game's most basic of controls, then there's something wrong with them.
  11. xsbs... recently the guy's resurfaced. Keeps blathering on about how the Yellow Pages are still useful.
  12. 85-90 degrees, bluish-grey skies, very humid. I'm glad to be leaving Bombay tomorrow and heading to Bangalore. The weather here is getting to be a bit much.
  13. **sighs** It's back! Thank god, it's back!

  14. I recently re-watched Mulan, so that. And Aladdin. I place the latter among my favorite movies of all time.
  15. I'm in India, so I've kept busy enough. I was doing India shit. My asshole is under constant attack by the food. It takes me a few months to adjust, though. This visit is a precursor to a move coming in September. I saw Cars 2, as well. Utter shit. I re-read the first Game of Thrones book.
  16. So I saw Green Lantern at midnight, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Not as good as First Class, but better than Thor. I liked it for the same reasons I liked Thor: it was a mildly campy movie that got the feel of a comic down well. I thought, however, that Green Lantern did everything Thor did, but better. Cosmic scale? Check, except GL has more than 4 or 5 sets. Good special effects? Check, except GL's special effects are some of the best I've ever seen. The difference is that Thor had pretty awful characterization and writing, but GL had none of these. It was a really solid movie, and its as good as I think they could have made it. I hope it does well at the box office so I can get my Flash movie. I need to see Gorilla Grodd on the big screen! I don't know why GL was so widely panned. I'm eager to have someone here talk about it after having seen it. There were really standout performances from Mark Strong as Sinestro and Peter Sarsgaard as hector Hammond. Some of the writing was really great, and only one line of dialogue made me frown. I don't remember which one, though. I saw it in 3D, but I saw a clip in 2D, and I can tell you that seeing this movie in 2D is like seeing AVATAR in 2D. The movie's effect is totally lost without it. It costs some extra money, but to really enjoy this movie for what it is, you should most definitely see it in 3D.
  17. DMC in HD? Yeahhhhhhh!

That's cool, but I'm not sure if I'd buy it personally. Only DMC 1 and 3 are worth a damn, and I already bought them when I bought the 5 year anniversary box set (wow, has it really been 5 years?).

Of course, DMC 1 and 3 in HD sounds incredibly sexy....

Didn't they release them on PC anyway? should be an easy convert so!

  18. Fringe in the second half of S2 and all of S3 has an overarching plot. A very thick one, in fact. If you keep watching, you'll hit it. I recommend the show.
  19. Why can't I get into chat?!

  20. The Kotaku article that infers your sexual preferences through your favorite Alien film is just hilarious.

  21. Yeah, Alexander was shit. I get it, he was gay, and Oliver Stone is a madman. Can I stop watching now?
  22. How do you know it's garbage? It seems kind of cool, and you haven't played it. No need to just say random stuff to try and prove your point.
  23. Lens Flare: The Movie a.k.a. Super 8 Hrm... I guess this movie was better than OK, but it wasn't great. The movie seemed to take all the worst parts of an 80s era Spielberg film and the worst parts of modern day Alien movies and put them together. It was executed fairly well, but the payoff did NOT match the payoff. The first half of the movie was excellent, but the second half... no. It was better than okay, but not good. So I'll stick it in this thread. Edit: Also, what the FUCK?! The thing that pissed me off the most in this movie is that Super 8 cameras CANNOT RECORD SOUND. How the FUCK could they have missed this fact when making the movie?! It's fucking ridiculous!
  24. Not LotRO, War in the North, which isn't an MMO. They covered War in the North fairly extensively in the past. Also, they covered Rift pretty well leading up to its release. I haven't seen a single Star Trek MMO news piece in... months. I know I'm defending Kotaku, but I'm just trying to be fair.
  25. I have two weeks where I will be doing absolutely NOTHING else. Should I learn how to play EVE Online?

    1. FMW

      FMW

I understand that EVE is amazingly interesting on the macro scale, but two weeks isn't nearly enough to get there. I suggest a two week fling with a different free to play MMO. EQ 2 maybe? Or Warhammer if that one's gone free to play at all.

    2. BrainHurtBoy...2

      BrainHurtBoy...2

      1. Eve's not F2P, I'd just do the trial, 2. I have no interest in then microtransactional shittiness that is F2P MMO gaming, and 3. I would just be learning to play it, I'm not expecting any quick payout. I'd pick up a sub afterward if I enjoyed myself.
