  1. After reading how KH3 doesn't have the Final Fantasy characters as much anymore kind of dropped my interest of ever finishing the fight. With that said, KH games for the most part got good gameplay to the point that I wondered if its gameplay should be used in a Final Fantasy title (which a form of it eventually did in FFXV). But yeah, it's a lot of hours for such a weird mash of worlds.
  2. For work I for sure can see the use for such a device at a fraction of a cost of say an iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil. It would also work out pretty well for say the second half of undergrad and into grad school. Hell, I kind of want one for myself but I'm unsure how "futureproof" it will be as in how well will it run in say 5 years or more but then again I can say the same for other traditional tablets. It also might not matter with the specs. Hmm... Can you straight up load e-books on it as well? ?
  3. http://sukeban.moe/index.php/2020/12/01/nirvana-delay-en/ Nirvana to be delayed with release date of when it's done. ? I'm sure it'll be fine but still I was hoping for it this year. Oh well.
  4. Just what I posted, a splash screen in the menu somewhere.
  5. Xuan Yuan Sword 7 For a studio who doesn't have experience with an action RPG, DOMO Studio has an alright attempt at it with this entry to a long standing series (I'm very unfamiliar with it but it has been around since 1990 and range from turn-based to MMO-like). Lots of room to improve. Combat needs to be diversified to make it less repetitive. As of right now, it's spam them to win unless the boss has some archaic mode where they can't be hurt. Lots of kiting otherwise. Basic enemies are cool but some of the more advanced ones should take some thinking to kill. With that said, there were some attempts to spice up the combat with companion skills and special moves. There's also an execution move you can do but the prompt for it is tiny and you don't get much out of it. Plus it slows the game down. The linear world is fine but level design along with traversal methods got to improve. Things do not stand out in any meaningful way so things will skip your vision. Movement is hindered by action prompts to climb or move through certain obstacles that just stops gameplay. You can't run but you can spam charge which will get you where you want to be faster. Exploration of nooks and crannies aren't typically rewarded. Story wise, it's like some okay late 80's to 90's wuxia movie. Nothing to write home about. Hell, I feel like there's quite few loose threads but it might come down to not knowing Chinese history too well (like, I know who Wang Mang is but not the details of what he did) and the history of the game series. Animation is a mix of mo-cap and not mo-cap, and oh boy do the not mo-cap stuff stands out. It's like playing Oblivion again but in higher fidelity! With that all said, I recommend this game to see what Chinese/Taiwanese devs can do. In this case, I would say it's an AA-level dev. The setting is quite pretty and the characters are pretty okay. This game takes about 19 hours to finish so if you can snag it for say ~$10 or less then maybe you should check it out. Besides, it got some of the best roundhouse kicks ever and we got a version of Watson going on: basically the NPC can teleport if you outpace them or scale something they can't. By not means a deal breaker since it's quite amusing. Like we're fighting demons and monsters so maybe don't teleport in strange places!
  6. JFC, we're really going to crowdfund a transition?
  7. The fan translations group (Geofront) for the Crossbell games is basically ignoring those releases (expected Summer of 2021, at which point all work on Crossbell would be done) since there's no guarantee that any of their work can move over to the Steam release without significant time investment that I don't think anyone of the team wants to make. Years have been spent on these two games already. They want to move on to other games or just retire and get on with life (e.g., one of the folks [Zerker] is currently in law school). Honestly they should spend their time on the wiki (a lot of the people behind both are the same [e.g., Ribose]). They have plans to be able to display information based on the games you have played (like how Tower of the Hand does it with the A Song of Ice and Fire/ Game of Thrones series). That would be an absolute boon to the fanbase who wants to fact check things but are currently scared of spoilers. Anyhow, the Joyoland-based version will suffice since it's all kosher (you can buy the game legally). Hell, the quality of the fan localizations is exceptional considering this is all fan work. I think the textures and such are even better than the Kai versions. Also has QoL improvements that best even XSEED's amazing ports of the other games.
  8. And we are done. Gonna have to keep an eye on Georgia for their senate runoffs in January. Not going to hope for anything but... Georgia turned blue.
  9. It's hitting me that it has been 4 years. Fuck me.
  10. HA↗HA↘HA↗HA↘HA↗HA↘HA↗HA↘HA↗HA↘
  11. I actually have some of the previous games but they tended towards MMO type or active-time turn based RPG. I couldn't get to them at the time when I got them since I was/still busy with other massively long turn-based RPGs. This one is more towards action RPG so I might take to this better (a la Genshin Impact). We'll see how this goes... I want to scratch the itch of wanting a wuxia-like based game. I even got a wuxia book to read!
  12. I came across the following video that helps explain the trailer for most non-Chinese people. It even helped me since I don't understand Mandarin or read Chinese. And if you guys want, you can watch the 1980's TV adaption with English subs on Youtube. All official and everything. It just has some spotty but adequate subs. Now if only I can find the Cantonese version...
  13. I've been sleeping like shit or not sleeping at all so I binged watch some classic 80's to 90's Hong Kong films. A Chinese Ghost Story 1 (plus 2 and 3) As a child, my brother and I always had A Chinese Ghost Story 3 in our rotation. This is more or less the first time I ever watched A Chinese Ghost Story 1 and 2 but I'm sure I have watched it before but the third movie is probably the most kid friendly of the three. These three are rom-com action/wuxia-ish horror movies. The first one is based on a story from basically a Chinese version of Grimms' Fairy Tales. The sequels are just to cash in on the success the first had, have actress Joey Wong be eye candy (she is/was pretty) and they works for the most part. First movie is consider one of the top of top and I have to agree. It has a small cast and stays really focused. A naïve guy in an age of strife comes across a ghost (bounded to a demon to lure people to her master) and they fall in love. Undead hijinks, demons, romance and shit proceed. I'm actually surprised that it all works! Another thing that surprised me is the John Carpenter-esk puppets and practical effects. They're a bit wonky now but they look pretty damn good. Lastly, there's Wu Ma in one of his most iconic roles: Action/wuxia bit is him exorcising demons. BUT YEAH, the story ended nice and easy but then... The second movie was made. It's decent but not anywhere like the first. It's just didn't had to be made. Yet... then the third movie happened. It's a childhood favorite and I still think it it holds up. Issue is that it's more or less the first movie. Just add an awesome monk and a younger and awesome Daoist practitioner. The third movie takes the idea of the second movie and made it work though it is a far cry from the first. Anyhow, I'm probably going to go on a wuxia binge soon.
  14. Burn the whole mountain down for that hidden dendro slime.
  15. I argue Mario 64 is harder now than back then. So many vtubers I watch get crushed by 64. The camera and controls fights against you a lot. Add in the sparse check points and you just don't have a good time with Mario 64.
  16. I really should look around Central, South American and Native American metal. Edit: This is a bit of a trip.
