  1. Yeah, the cell processor will be a bitch but it'll be done. With that said, is it safe to say that the PS4 would be easier to emulate? Parts wise, it is normal.
  2. PS3's emulation baby steps. It'll happen sooner or later (Soonest might be about five years) and it'll be a good day
  3. Randy's a geologist. I must see an anally violated geologist.
  4. Regarding mana... it seems to be just items that can refill it. No way that by level nine that I won't find at least one add on that refill my mana. It is kind of making me a mis-classed mage who does mostly warrior things. Anyways... I freaking love the Cartman chants during the overworld (lack of better term) theme.
  5. Maybe I should worry that the doors in a section of the house are all mis-aligned and won't close without a pull up.

If the problems are the hinges, and this is usually the problem with doors, the fix is cheap. Pound toothpicks or chopsticks (latter is better) in the screw holes. Then, re-screw in the hinges to the wall. The hard part is putting the door back up, which you need a buddy to help. The real cost is for beer and pizza to say thank you for the help.

If it's all the doors in a whole section though it's probably something to do with the foundation being out of level.

After taking a look, I'm thinking it might be the roof... nobody lives in the converted garage so it should be find even if it comes down... On a side note, when I first moved in, another door in the house was a little off but it fixed itself.

  7. Regarding the assets and the potential ease of porting it. This might be the start of a really cool thing since Matt and Trey (And company) can get away with a lot more with games than a cable show. Episodic content from them could also be a thing during the show's off-season. The only thing I would worry about is the gameplay aspect. What South Park Studios can do is make great (hit or miss) content but it might not translate well to games. Back to the game... I'm kind of disappointed in how the general layout of the town is. I don't even think it is the same from the TV show's OP. I was hoping it wouldn't be that linear. I suppose it makes sense though because South Park is in a valley somewhere in Colorado. Still, I'm kind of disappointed. Now I got to ask... did you guys make yourselves as Douchbag or someone totally random? It is fantastic to have Butters give you a backpat to heal you up. I got to say though... I expect stuff to happen to my avatar as I progress through the game that will make me regret making myself as the Douchbag.
  8. General impressions... god damn am I disarmed by the fact that it feels like South Park. Due to the art style, the cut scenes and gameplay merges together well. Humor wise, well it is South Park. So far I have walked in on a naked chick and a guy masturbating under some sheets. Then there is Al Gore. God, I hope GRRM shows up, just because. Gameplay wise, it does keep you on your toes since getting those "criticals" are quite key in winning battles easily. So don't be like me playing this game while on Nyquil... even normal is proving a challenge. All other times though, I would suspect that hardcore would be your go to difficulty. Now for some shortcomings... I noticed how quickly dialogs can come back up again. First one was with Cartman's mom. It can be quite prevalent if you button mash through the game so it may affect your immersion. Not much you can do about this though... Another immersion breaking thing is the general RPG trope of looting a home without the adults or anybody really questioning you. Not even when you are rummaging through their house (Like with Butters'). It might be intentional though so I'm just waiting for the point when someone will call me out on this bullshit. Someone got to or else I'll be disappointed. UI... yeah, its a console game I feel. Haven't tried it much with mouse and keyboard but I'll do that tomorrow after the Quil wears off. Related with UI... the options menu is good enough. Graphic wise, there isn't much that you can change and that is fine considering the game. All the sound bars should be there. And the Quil is strong... enough general impressions for now.
  9. Pretty much. For $45 I'll bite. Even if it somehow sucks, I'll just go watch some South Park to sooth the pain. Besides, this will be the first South Park thing I officially bought. Finally after more than a decade worth of entertainment. Edit: Also Zombie Chef. Children, what is going on!? Whats with the Nazi Zombie Cows!?
  10. Well yeah, Snake Eater is the best one. MGS1 is the beginning (More or less). it worked for sure back in the 90's and it was wonderful. MGS2.... is an improvement but it is more of the same. MGS3 is awesome. MGS4 is a love song to MGS fans. Now MGSV... oh man. It has the potential to blow MGS3 out. That is what I am hoping.

  14. Prompted by the survey I just took for ASUS for my purchase... In ways I feel like I jumped the gun on the T100 (I'm liking it) when I look at the other products in the Transformer line. There are the relatively beastly (In size) T300LA and TX300. They're the bigger and badder brothers to the T100. Imagine snapping off the screen from your laptop. Kind of big, too big but I can see the appeal. Not for me though. Then there is the odd TX201LA. It has a dual OS of Windows 8 while in laptop mode and then Android 4.3 while in tablet. It confused me when I saw this while taking the survey but this is when it gets interesting (to me)... you can use both separate. You can hook up and/or perhaps stream your Windows 8 system to a monitor. I know plenty of professors who hook up their laptops to a separate monitor in their offices and I know that they need to read tons of papers (for research) and junk. If they can pull off doing their regular desktop stuff while having a freedom of reading a paper on a tablet on what is one device then man, I think they might like it. As you can see and imagine, I could see myself getting the TX201LA. It is the most intriguing of the bunch and it would seal all the niches I could have computer wise. Work computer, laptop and tablet. My T100 is that too (It got HDMI out) but the TX201LA takes it a step further with two usable devices in one. Give me the option of replacing the HDD (For Windows 8) for a SSD before or after purchase and I'll be sold on the concept. I'm sure at this point it'll be sodding expensive so I hope this concept doesn't die so it may improve and evolve. With that all said, I suppose you can look at my T100 as a glorified netbook since profile wise it is one. Specs wise, not really. Its a snappy little machine. For the record, I loath netbooks. This is what the netbooks from the early to mid 2000s should of been like but only now technology has finally caught up. I'm liking this 2-in-1 concept a lot. Recently in class my professor couldn't make enough copies of a handout for everyone. No problem for me since I downloaded the electronic copy while in laptop mode (for ease of access via typing), popped out the screen and rotated the screen so the handout will be in portrait view at easily readable resolution. It fulfilled it purpose then and when I had no other computer to use to type up a paper. Success. Motherfucker I am happy.

  18. $20 for the digital version of MGSV on the PS3? I guess that kind of changes my tune.

Ethan, I kind of consider them the same thing. Part 1, part 2 sort of deal.

Yeah Ground Zeroes is just as much Metal Gear Solid V as The Phantom Pain is.

I haven't really been following it, but from my understanding Ground Zeroes is a prologue, while The Phantom Pain is more of a full-sized game.

    Banished

Banished took the #1 spot on Steam yesterday, the 23rd (Beating out the long standing DayZ and Rust), before losing it to Thief today (24th). Pretty damn good I say. One thing I got to comment on. While it may not be fair since they're not the same thing but Banished pulled off a far more compelling agent system than SimCity. You can see wheres the resources are going by tracking the town folks. You also can track a person as they age, go to work, change jobs and then die. On the job front, you can see the same person at that job for quite a long time. If that person do move on to another job, they get replaced by a similar aged person thus keeping the illusion alive. Another thing is that they all pretty much live in their own houses. Case in point... I tracked this teacher starting from age 50. She was a crusty old teacher, living alone in this one house. I checked back later to see she aged to 70 and still going. I went back again when she was at 80 and she switched to an herbalist. The teacher who replaced her was about the same age. Not to say that it is perfect but it forms quite a good illusion and that is really all you need. Now about that 80 something years old miner...

Ehhh... It's a reasonable assumption. They carry out frequent A/B testing (which you will end up with the bad thing time to time). Their algorithms can also negatively hit sites that "should" be in the search results too. Also they make money on adverts.

      Faiblesse Des Sens

What you're describing isn't "on purpose" though. The issue is if Google is "maiming" their product so it is terrible. That's clearly not their intent nor is that the intent for basically any piece of software ever with the exception of Modern Warfare 2.

My gripes mainly centers on terrain view, which I use a lot. You want to look up a place? Want to click on a name? We'll zoom in (A HUGE gripe for me) for you and turn back to map view. If you want to switch back to terrain view we'll wipe whatever pins you got.

You used to be able to play around with it so much easier and I swear Google Maps as a whole was snappier. My user satisfaction has been dropping for a while now. It went from "Oh, okay." to "What the f...

You can leave it be on 1x without too much problem. One year on 1x is actually kind of long. The same time I played my current town to year 50, my 1x town on my T100 is only up to like 10. I'm super bummed that there is no soil quality. He took it out. I can see why but I don't see why it couldn't be an option for the masochists like me. One for the reasons for him taking it out is that it was a shit ton of work to manage compared to say hunting and gathering. It should be that way when you realize just how many times civilizations has collapsed because of fields not being tended to properly (Our global one isn't doing much better...). The degradation is slow but steady. It should be an option for "hard" mode. As a gamer, it is nice to have options. For him turning into a bug killing mode, I'm fine with that. I wouldn't be surprised if he is burnt out. Anyways. Expansion (Nomads especially) without having enough food will do this. It was really poorly timed but I survived since I had fields that I could throw everybody at to create the surplus. You got to remember, this is a communist society where everybody gets an equal share thus collapsing the system if spread too thin... Also a fire nearly did my town in. I have since expanded to two other sub-towns with some more on the way. I'm just laying out the grid during the winter... Next post I'll post about some of my grips and wishes for the game. I love it but as with the no soil quality thing, of course it could of gone at it better.
  22. I haven't watched it but it is pretty hilarious. I wonder how many people are going to force them to spend hours trying to look for Mew under the truck. It also will be fun to see what they use the Master ball on.
