Regarding China's numbers... I believe they're about right as far as deaths goes. Main reason is the censors aren't perfect yet nothing seems to get through if their death numbers are totally removed from reality. We get things about Hong Kong and Uyghurs yet nothing. So until we hear otherwise, it's best to believe China's numbers. And USA is blowing right through it. Ugh.

You ever got around to Stardew Valley? It'd be a neat game to co-op with the Mrs (not sure if one copy can do it on one machine...).

I got peaches and coconut. Waiting for apple (just got them) and pear to grow.

Happy it didn't happen but what the fuck? But i guess I shouldn't be surprised at this point. Truth be told, I am really freaked by all the xenophobia against Asians that I fear that something like above can happen.

If I may be optimistic for my own area... I feel like California may be able to somewhat check COVID-19, the initial wave anyways. For the most part, people are heeding the shelter-in-place order. Though it will take two weeks to see the fallout of people crowding the parks and open spaces which coincides with when I return to fieldwork... That'll be fun. Overall, CA responded early to avoid a situation like that in the NY-NJ-CT Tri-State area, like shown here (death rates is probably the quickest way to comparisons since tests are so limited): With that said, NYC is home to a majority of my family and I am mentally sweating bullets. There is a high likely hood that Italian-style triage will need to take place, along with needing to beef up the numbers of HCWs so basically the Tri-State Area got to brace for impact. I'm unsure how long my Dad, stepmom, aunts, uncles and step-grandparents can last in there and it fucking sucks that I can't do squat to help them. I just have to believe that they are protecting themselves sufficiently... for like 2-4+ weeks (hell, 12-18 months...). Then of course there's other states that's probably waiting for their turn. Not sure what Florida is doing but that state can easily be our Italy... not sure how long California can hold out either since the federal response is so piss poor. Going to be a long first wave for the US that's probably going to last into May so no, we're not going to go back to normal by Easter. As for the rest of the world... best wishes. East Asia is starting to go through the second-wave so they'll be the ones to watch to see how to go about reopening and live with the virus until a vaccine is made and distributed. Western world, please, PLEASE take heed for at least this segment. No more hubris. Please...

I find New Horizons to be rather nicely paced compared to the last few AC games I had tried. Also no town full of people to start so you're slowly building up your island. Anywho, Trails to Zero is probably harder than all of Cold Steel combined. Also since you're a detective, you got to think like one for the numerous choices. This single prologue itself has more choices than whole Cold Steel games. They also matter too for points. Man, I have forgotten that Trails games can be challenging and engaging!

Everyone is saying how awesome, hell nearly perfect, Doom Eternal is... But I got ACNH, so I'm just jiving.

Outside the doom and gloom, I'm watching AirBnB and the like with great interest. It's like the only good thing to be burning right now. With that said, please start sacrificing your grandparents to save the economy. Doesn't matter if our goals was to save them. They have to go. Pawpaw had a good run. Granny Smith is too sour to keep.

Maybe my social media spheres isn't able to catch Biden out and about but where the fuck is he? I think people want to see him on video, not only through press releases. Usually being gone for about a week isn't much of a deal but things are moving rapidly. January feels like two lifetimes ago while last month feels like one. Hell, a week or two ago was a different world. So where is the presumptive Democratic nominee?
-
All stores are closing now. Probably for good. If I were to guess, all this was to extend their time so they could fulfill any last orders of Doom Eternal and ACNH. Corporate profit then fucks off while the workers in the stores likely will get sick.

No testing... Good luck metal and stay safe. On a personal note, I'm working from home for two weeks. My gut says that it'll be longer. Maybe unemployment. We will see. I REALLY want to be proven wrong.

Yeah, it's a treatment to squash the infection quickly. Not sure how well all these proposed treatments will work on the elderly. Now I have to wonder, how much do you guys trust the numbers coming out from various countries? For me, the only number I really trust is South Korea and probably Taiwan. All others I hold as suspect with some more than others. I still use their numbers to make some form of informed decision since it's all we got.
-
I think Gamestop signed their own death warrant. Reggie also isn't on the board yet so no pitchforks should be aimed at him.
-
The "Thai-cocktail" looks to be ineffective for treatment. Looks like the world over is tossing whatever seems to work and hoping something sticks. This is kind of why I'm a proponent of expecting a loooong fight.

Take the report and the Twitter thread as you will... it basically applies to the UK and other countries (non)responses as well.

Trails from Zero Finally got time and the right mindset to start (Soju got better). The first hour in the intro dungeon is quite a bit better than CS1's. I would describe the experience as tighter. Part of it is that we're starting with four characters rather than eight characters so they all have time to shine. Not sure if I can compare CS3's intro but having a reduced class size in that helped. Sky's intro for sure took a bit to get going but pacing there was actually solid. Sky's intro basically had to build the world that has now spanned 8-9 games. So yeah, I am highly looking forward to really getting into this! I've waited for so long. And yeah, CS3 is on hold for now.
-
Now that Soju is better, I am kind of thinking a bit more clearly now. I hope. Man, if my dog made me feel like that, I can only imagine my love ones or if I ever had a kid... But yeah, long haul truck drivers along with our grocery and related stores are holding this country together. Make no mistake, our food supply is fine so there never really was a need for hording food items. Though, to be fair, I have come to the acceptance that this is going to be a far far longer problem than it should've been. Hell, it's probably setting forth a paradigm shift that will be as big if not bigger than 9/11 or the Great Recession (my only living references). We'll see. We got to weather this shit first. Bernie, Biden, Trump or whoever, it doesn't really matter. Got to get through this. One thing for certain though... there is no normal to get back to.

Election hijinks and COVID-19 has nothing on dealing with and worrying about a sick pet. With that said, my dog is getting better after almost a week of diarrhea hell. I'm so relieved.

Ah, well, hope it turns out well. Anyhow, I seriously think there's a construction industry blind spot to all this social isolation and things like that. While each crew may not be that big or interact with other people but the workers can travel far for work and they are stuck in hotels. There's a possibility that the virus can spread around at the hotel, at work, at lunch/dinner and when people head home. For example, I just traveled about 200 miles to a hotel so I can work. I'm expected to work so I am at work since you know, need to pay bills and maintain employment for health benefits. Thing is I came from a hot spot. So I potentially spreading the virus without being sick. I hope I am not but eh*... But for this work trip, I opt to make my dinner in my room so I don't directly spread it to the community. One thing to note is that home for some people can be much more than 200 miles and may involve small and/or isolated communities. I feel like I should voice my concerns to say my state representative or something to maybe shut this all down... Potentially putting MANY people out of work. I think it has to be a government mandate to shut this all down even though multiple parties can shut it down, no one wants to be the one that does it. Though, maybe I should look at this in a different way: long haul truck drivers. In many ways they similar but also much more mobile. They are keeping many things going... Blah. Maybe I should stop thinking. * I HATE the idea that I can be potentially spreading COVID-19. One big reason is that I am Chinese-American and I hate to validate any racist beliefs in any way.

Me and Ethan was lamenting about it on Twitter. It's honestly kind of driving me up the wall. I'm doing my best so I don't inadvertently ice my grandma but she's sometimes goes out to ride the bus in a Californian hot spot. I guess what will come will come. Problem for Future Me. Problems for Future Me... exponential curves are haunting me.

You know, my work requires a lot of travel. I feel like I should just not work but clients are expecting us to be monitoring and my family needs all the money we can get before the hammer comes down. I'm so conflicted and feels powerless by being tugged by two polar opposite necessities. I have bought stuff to make noodle soups in my hotel room so I can limit contact with people and well... limit contact with potential irrational and/or total racist asses. This is tiring. Edit: Also, Ethan, I hope that trial went on?

Looking at the numbers, Italy's is just plain alarming. Hospitals got slammed and wow. Very stark contrast to say Taiwan (screened everyone and took swift action on the get-go) or South Korea (emergency measures then punched down the curve). Of course, you can never be sure if officials are not tweaking the numbers however they can. In the US, it absolutely has happened and I have heard of similar things elsewhere in say certain EU member states. Of course, you got to wonder about China's numbers. With that said, even with grains of salt, you got to take the numbers given out as mostly real. Too many countries to try to compare and contrasts that it's to the point that it's not healthy to do so. Either way, statistics says that the next 1-3 weeks and beyond will be fun.
