I noticed this while trying to find a star system to jump to: there are four classes of stars to go to. I think now I have a goal besides getting to the center. @TCP Yeah, I misunderstood it. Kind of easy to if you just deal with one after another in a span of 6 hours. I kind of got the hint of just three alien races in a monolith though. Edit: And if I don't get a refund, I guess I wouldn't even be mad.

@Dean: That is a really good summary. Storage space is my main gripe right now. I'm pretty much tied to trading outposts. There's very little reason to horde anything else than fuel for your things. I guess you can horde gold though... Another thing for me is the language. You'll learn an alien language through your stay in a star system but all that progress means nothing once you jump outside of said star system. You'll start from scratch. Doesn't really matter though since you can guess most things. Lastly... stop spamming milestones in my face. Let me play the game. Like seriously, why are there so many things that slow your gameplay down like hold to select (Maybe due to there isn't much purpose to anything I guess...)? But of course it doesn't apply to landing a ship. A simple press can do. Like sure, this game's concept has potential but this is the release version at $60.

Now that I ordered new parts, I just realized that I actually never replaced the Mobo, RAM and CPU so I don't know how my Windows installation will take it. I know for a new GPU you need to remove previous drivers. I assume it's the same thing for the other parts? Maybe reinstalling Windows will be better? My startup times has increased ever since I upgraded to Windows 10 so it might be a good excuse to give a reinstall a try and wipe everything on my OS drive.

I'm giving a more of a go with some of the recommended fixes. Works better for sure. The only reason why I'm here right now is that Steam beta client got an update and booted me from the game which is in effect alt-tab out of the game. Thankfully I just got out of my ship not too long ago so things saved.

I have the GOG version. It still has the hitching every couple seconds as I walk around. If it was just some occasional hitching then fine. As it is right now, why should I deal with this at a $60 price tag? I'm sure new driver (it's coming) and updates will help but it'll take sometime before the game is up to shape.

I'm actually returning it. I liked the content but the performance is just bad.

Well they got a small update out that (from what I can tell) reset the options I've selected but at least it fixed having M+KB prompts on some stuff and controller prompts on other stuff.

From the look of my Steam popup, you should've taken a screenshot for each crash. You might've gotten like ten shots.

This might have to do with more with my computer but game hangs more and chugs more than any games I've played recently. I suspect it is due to the procedural generation. That might not be playing well with my 6 GB of RAM (surprised that that is below the minimum) and my older i7 950 (I suspect this is mostly the culprit). Maybe putting the game on my SD will help?

I can't help but feel that this fan project is a missed opportunity at a Not-Pokemon game in the spirit of how Stardew Valley is to Harvest Moon. Still, a lot of creativity has gone into it and it looks polished. I'm impressed.

Seems like Bryan Lee O'Malley wants to get the game back in purchasable form... I would love that and it being on Steam or something.

I totally forgot about that but if I recall this will be the closest the PC gets to a Monster Hunter game. I'm totally looking forward to it and hoping that the port doesn't suck. Little King Story that just came out on Steam has a horrible port so: worry Also I guess I can add one more to the list: Earth Defense Force 4.1. I don't think I need to say anything about this than I've clocked in over 200 hours since launch. It's one of my favorite games, period.

Maybe I should play a new Pokemon game. I'm one of those old timers who only ever played the first few (e.g., Red and Blue). I just can't shake my distaste for stuff like the Alola forms. I just feel overwhelm I guess?

I would love to play TLG but I'm not getting a PS4 for just that. Upgrading my old but trusty PC comes before getting a PS4. Maybe I will play it on one of my brothers' PS4 when I got visit.

For a more popular culture focus. TED talk with some caveats like say "Do we really know what gene(s) causes XYZ?". You know, I feel bad for any potential long-lived children or grandchildren of ours. They will be living in and cleaning up our climatic mess. Sure they could engineer the hell out of the problem but you're essentially telling them to dip their toes in directed terraforming. Then again they potentially won't have to deal with cancer and other fucked up diseases. It's a fair trade...
