  1. If they downscale from say 900p to 720p for AA then it should more or less get rid of any jaggies. It's comparable to a 1440p to 1080p downscale in pixel increase (56% vs 78%). Image quality should be nice and crisp especially with Nintendo's in-house games. I'm just unsure if the tablet itself has enough power and battery to do it though. The trailer hints at the dock having quite the bit of processing juice.
  2. For it's level of resolution and beign a touch screen, if I had a fuck ton of money, a Surface Studio is kind of neat. An similar Cintiq would cost about as much.

It looks gorgeous. But yeah that price is something. Still, blew Apple out the water when they dropped the ball.

Yeah, the price was the big kicker, but it's quite fancy.

After Apple's announcement, I feel Microsoft kick beat Apple at their own game. Think about that for a moment.

  3. After some point, you just have to go all out.
  4. https://www.engadget.com/2016/10/26/lenovo-hp-and-dell-are-all-working-on-300-windows-vr-headsets/ No specs but there are a slew of $300 and above headsets coming for PC. This is probably the only real way to get the install base needed to kick off VR for gaming. In other settings I'd expect the Vive and Oculus to thrive due to performance. If this works then maybe we'll see Vive and Oculus grade headsets around that price range in say five years. VR can work but it'll take time.
  5. Hasn't it been like this with Civ games? You can't defend yourself without getting flak from all the other civs. In other news, after adjusting my CPU cooler, GPU and having the latest driver my game crashes instead of taking my computer with it. It's a good improvement.
  6. Yeah, that's why I'm ending up just wiping them out. In my current game as Scynthia I had 2-3 joint wars on me in the early game. A common enemy in all of them was Arabia and so with the third surprise war from them, I decided to cleanse them from my northern borders. Then the much larger Brazil decided to go for a round two and I wiped them out as well. Though during the course of the Brazilian war I had some musket-men rebellions because this war dragged on for so long (I refused peace like four times) and I was really low on cash. After a little bit, Sumeria decided to try me out with their capital on the border facing me. I didn't wipe them out since they had some sub-five city on some island off Pangaea. Now I manage 20+ cities which is a mess. I might just raze everything else if Norway or Britain decides to fight me. I gotta channel the steppe people somehow. I kind of wish we had Genghis Khan but I suppose Thmyris/Scynthia replaces him.
  7. I just can't get over just how many missionaries the AI can pull out and they all come in at once. If the AI was like that in old fashion war then they might pose a threat but often times they just run around a city. So far I don't think they ever took any of my cities. Judging by what they do to each other, they can but I never been on the receiving end. On a related note, I love how the AI are pretty war hungry on Emperor. On King and Prince I have to declare war to expand. The AI does it for me on Emperor. I should say that while I do nag on the AI and UI a lot, I really do love the game. The RNG on resources and starting locations can make or break a game and often times makes up some nice challenges. There's also not a lot of games that allows you to just nuke the entirety of another civilization. Kind of like this:
  8. I want to see a modern iteration of Nemesis. Have him/her be human that has personality and all that but have them devolve into mutated-Wesker, then Nemesis and then a Birkin. End with the traditional big blob they all tend to grow into as they get more damaged.
  9. What the hell is up with religion? I can easily win with the other conditions but religion is hard. The toughest part is founding one. I haven't even gotten to the point of defending and spreading it since the AI can get to the prophets way before I can and there's only five of them. Edit: After save scumming, I got one founded but I'm not sure how to defend my city. Setting off my missionaries at my own cities doesn't seem to do jack. The stats I find doesn't indicate anything happening when I do so but when other religions' missionary does so I can tell. And while I'm on not being to tell some information... \There's an XP bar. At this point I think whoever designed the UI and information display has a very large monitor with some larger scaling or they're a bit shit.
  10. 980ti. I managed to play without crashing tonight with 373.06. According to Hardware Monitor, my temperatures are fine. Everything was about 70°C-80°C with the 980ti going the highest at 81°C. So I shouldn't be overheating. Maybe some game process together with the drivers is taking out my computer and getting people stuck in the loading screen. Anyhow, with a new game I made good on my promise of murdering the person with the highest religion before they can win the game. It just involved a pretty damn landlocked Aztec that was broken through by geopolitical version of Hannibal crossing the Alps with elephants. It almost fell apart when the geopolitical hole was closed* and by some underclassed armies. Tank army with a general saved the day which led to a captured city and upgraded infantry armies with siege towers**. Swept up the other seven cities after. *A lot of mountains, water with a shifted City-State that allowed me to enter through one side of a hex... Thankfully it kicked me into Japan whom I had open borders with and who also borders the Aztec. **Somehow siege towers still work in the age of tanks and infantry.
  11. Weird. 373.06 (Oct. 5th-6th) allows me to play but it will eventually crash like so While very similar to problems with RAM, I don't get a BSOD that I get with RAM issues. In this case, my computer just restarts. 375.63 (Oct. 23th) gives me your problem. I also swear that Nvidia Experience gives out one for Oct. 19th... at this point, something is fucky. I may try 372.90 (Sept. 21st) to see if it helps with my crashes or just run with 373.06 and run a hardware monitor to see any thing strange. The only problem is that I have to check and any crashes will not generate a report...
  12. The newest driver (today's) that I got from Nvidia 's website did that to me. The previous one that I got from the Nvidia Experience on Saturday night had me freeze and crash after some turns. They both said they were for Civ VI. And yes they are different driver versions. I had to roll back to the Oct. 6th driver to get pass that screen and so far no freeze or crashes. This one was the one before it said anything about being optimized for Civ VI.
  13. I had a bomber that could use nukes and yet I didn't see it. Anyhow, next time I'll murder the religious zealots before they can get a religious victory. I easily could've won.
  14. How does the nuke work in VI? I built a thermonuclear warhead but I cannot find it to load it up or drop it on religious Japan right before their religious victory.
  15. Well, very late game Civ VI froze and crashed my computer.

Add in early mid game. I have a feeling it's the Nvidia driver. I marathon this on the first day with no problems but now two crashes...

Well then I might wait to install the new driver...

The new driver doesn't even allow me to load up a game. I'm moving back to the one before Civ VI came out.

  16. Can a handful of musket-men defeat the horde of sword wielding, warmongering, maniacs? Let's find out in Kongo-India War 2. Yes, they started the first war.
  17. If those ports are anything to go on... an optional add-on disc drive could work. Of course there's the issue of hardware compatibility between the Wii U and the Switch. If they can over that hump then we can relive the SNES days with multiple add-ons for NES cartridges, disc or floppies... I even recall a Gameboy one. Shit was kind of insane when you think about it. And one more thing: Can Nintendo get their heads out of their asses and finally come out with a true Nintendo account so online can be effortless? A man can dream...
  18. People are reporting to seeing some frame drops with Zelda when they switched from docked to mobile. Perhaps it takes a moment for the performance to stabilize at 720p or the mobile hardware is actually having trouble keeping up performance at even 720p.
  19. Yeah, I just found that map. Making a mishmash of iconic western/near-western locations works too.
  20. So we got Wyoming. Only state I can think of mashing together bisons, ranching, nice nature and oil. There is also the option of Colorado but I don't think many people would've liked to cross the Front Ranges to head out further west until the railroad crossed it. Hell, I don't recall that route in Oregon Trails... anyhow here, I'll do it:
  21. That controller looks kind of uncomfortable, especially when separated. Other than that, show me 2-3 games (Zelda and Mario) at launch and a couple within the year of launch and I may be game. Western third-party support would be nice and crucial for success outside Japan. It also would be nice if Nintendo encourage some Japanese third-party devs to release outside Japan. The stuff on Steam shows that the audience can be around. Just got to start out with a large install base at launch then feed us ever few months. Not sure of the source but here's Nintendo's partners for the Switch. Please understand, Nintendo, you got to keep these guys around.
  22. Make America Great Again! You can see it in my avatar. It's Trump's slogan for his campaign. SAD.
  23. Might be my last game for a long while. Edit: Got my key and into my Steam library.
  24. http://www.macgamestore.com/product/6241/Sid-Meiers-Civilization-VI/ Civ VI 20% off so $47.99. Keys are NOT out yet so no preloading or anything. They should be out by Friday since I think people with Macs have trouble preloading so they don't release keys beforehand anymore to stop it. I should note that this is the Mac store but it shouldn't matter they're all go through Steam that activates the same version as Windows. Edit: It's dead now.
  25. I totally forgot that I have a 3DS XL that can play Sun and Moon... the only problem is this game is gimped by the joy stick. I can't spin in place easily! Maybe it's easier with the newer models... but seriously, check this shit out. GOTY material.
