1. Pretty graphic movie about a serial killer; shot 90% in first person perspective. It was alright, but the whole time I couldn't help but think "Man, I could be crazier then this..." Is that weird?
2. I generally despise gameplay mods; especially on a first playthrough, but Stalker Complete is actually incredible. I personally didn't encounter too many bugs when I was playing vanilla, but Complete really took everything up to 11 so seamlessly that I would never play again without it. It almost feels like you're playing the same game on a better computer.
3. The funny thing is, there are so many glitches and so little punishment that at this point you'd be stupid to buy a cash card. I swear to god there is a hack now that lets you hand out up to a billion dollars to everybody in the lobby; whether they want it or not. Apparently it can happen on both consoles, but is more common on PSN since free online = less risk of losing your account. I still love the game, but fuckit; I've started duping cars. There I said it.
4. Oh there's a tattoo thread? I collect Pac-Man memorabilia. I didn't find out till later that Gabe from Penny-Arcade has the same tattoo. That's done in UV Ink; so you only see it under a black light. Just like the game; it grants wishes when it appears and will probably lead to skin cancer.
5. If you did indeed post in the right thread, you should watch Crank. It's 90 minutes of a dude just startin' shit with people because of an inane premise. It's fucking awesome. I'd also recommend Crank 2. It's 90 minutes of a dude just startin' shit with people because of a totally retarded premise. It's fucking awesome.
6. Apparently Social Club servers have been down all day. Proper source this time: http://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/200555488 . You can play but your progress won't be saved. I've read from random internet folk that people were having problems saving progress last night. Stuff like money earned during a session being lost after you logged out, same with cars you may have purchased (the money you spent on them seems to have disappeared without issue, however). RP should still be alright. But if you're playing now, don't count on anything being saved. And I definitely wouldn't buy anything expensive. (edit: The update says things are 'delayed'. This is from the same people who brought you "Yeah, we'll totally be getting your lost characters back") When I was playing last night, I also realized that with the payout nerfs there really seems to be no real benefit to having Merryweather support options in the game. I used to use backup helicopters and airstrikes quite excessively just cause it's an amusing bit of overkill and a really, really fast way to clean up. Not to mention, randoms really seem to like it when you sack a few thousand dollars from your reward to take a 20 minute mission down to 10 with a full payout for them. Now it seems like you're guaranteed to lose money on 90% of missions if you do that. I guess you can still use them to harass other players in freemode, but I'm not really into that and even if I were, Mercenaries seem to be considerably more useful and cost efficient then any other option.
7. I read that people were only getting 14k for ten waves; I don't do survival much and Rockstar hasn't officially acknowledged any of the payout nerfs but if you email support about it you get this automated response. Sorry I know it's a dumb source. On the plus side; replay button is back for missions, so that should shave off a bunch of the loading times.
8. Pacman Championship DX+. Amazing game. My favourite thing about it is that you're ranked based on your position on the leaderboards. I got it on release, unlocked every achievement and aced every level on the first day, so I didn't end up playing it much. Went back last night and found my rank on most levels had dropped to a B. This shit is unacceptable and I will have my revenge.
9. Yeah, the episode where Walter got a mech suit to deal meth in was my favourite. This game is awesome.
10. They're always leaving shit out of the patch notes. Probably because it's not directly related to the patch itself but something they can change internally (they did it with Violent Ducts without patching). I haven't been on since the patch but read about it on gtaforums and reddit while at work. Apparently they also removed lightning strikes? That's a weird one. Edit: Apparently it wasn't all the missions; just the ones that paid out decently. It still has the problem where a lot of the really, really hard missions aren't even worth the payout (Death from Above and that one where you have to steal 3 bikes from The Lost). I guess you can still sell the car from Out of Court Settlement for 20k; but that missions actual payout got nerfed, along with Mixed up with Coke, Titan of a Job, Violent Ducts (only 1.5k now? were people actually farming it for 3k?), and most others. Survival payouts were nerfed; even though they still take 30 minutes. Mixed up with Coke is really only super quick with 3-4 people who know what they're doing; and I thought people did Titan of a Job more because it's fun rather then for the payout, since it takes forever. Edit 2: payout spreadsheet was updated; https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=0ApW2YCUkxPHcdHgtV3VrNUVsOENNaDZHcVp6RXVtQVE&usp=drive_web&rm=full#gid=0
11. They cut all mission cash rewards in half? It's basically a racing game now. I'd be totally cool with it if it wasn't taking longer and longer each patch to find a proper motorcycle race lobby that wasn't on Criminal Records. I wanna do something with straightaways and turns on different angles, damnit.
12. Pretty sure I just got everything (including the secret out-of-map ending) in The Stanley Parable remake. It was really epic. Not as much new stuff as I had hoped for, but the changes they did make were exciting enough to make it worth playing. The new countdown ending in particular will drive you nuts. Took me about 5-6 hours; laughed throughout. Highly recommend. Play the demo too.
13. Started a new crew today just so I could do this. Then I won like, 5 sixteen man motorbike races in a row. Today was a good day. (it's open, in case you wanted the same shirt; http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/crew/mr_rogers_friends)
14. The cars that spawn on a map depend on what the highest level in the lobby is. Day 1 you couldn't even find a supercar in the hills. If anyone is level 30+ (I think) the sub and scuba boat will spawn at the dock. If you're looking to boost with 2 people these days (and I'm down!), the new trick is to do one lap races around Criminal Records. Trade wins; whoever is going to win should bet 2500 on themselves while the loser bets 100 (otherwise the bets won't go through). This also unlocks your car upgrades. You have to go back and forth or the odds will go in one persons favor and you won't make as much money. It's something like 900RP and 4k every 30 seconds. Also, Out of Court Settlement from Martin has the same payout and is just as quick as Violent Ducts, plus you can do it solo. I find missions kind of slow in general since they took away the replay button though, but apparently that's coming back in a future patch. What are your guises thoughts on the Chiliad mural? Think there's actually a jetpack in the game? Kind of a sick joke if there's not, but at the same time I feel like somebody, using hacks or otherwise, would have at least glitched it into existence by now.
15. doo doo doo doo delelelele doo doo dooooooo...
16. I just blew like, 50 grand sending Merryweather troops to kill people and watching it happen on the news. Best 50 grand I ever spent.
17. *Balanced features and grenades. Lots of grenades. Grenades everywhere. Still, overall the most balanced.
18. Slasher movies are my favourite. Chucky is batting 5/6 right now (Childs Play 3 being the only god awful movie in the series); making it probably the most consistently good slasher franchise in history. And he's never even had a reboot, which is awesome (arguable I guess. He does change genre with the times, but they've never started the story over from scratch). Doesn't really pick up until the second half, but from that point on it's insane. Especially the ending; there's like 3 different 'epilogue' scenes to it (including one after the credits) that just get crazier and crazier. And it's back to being pure horror now (the last two were more comedic than anything), which I have no strong opinion on since it suits both genre's really well.
19. Martin's missions are the only ones that give you about as much RP and cash as you'd get losing races in the same amount of time. It should get a lot better when the heist jobs and custom missions come out. Right now they're like placeholders. Oh by the way, we're all getting 500 grand for playing this month because of the launch issues (which I had none of, so I'm ecstatic about this).
20. I'm 42 and while I've noticed you get a lot more between 25-30, there really aren't a whole lot still. They do have a really shitty difficulty:reward ratio though; especially since the new patch made it so that you couldn't replay them.
21. Grand Theft Auto 5 Hotline Miami I can't really think of a worthy third. I think CoD 4 deserves a mention. The games above are like, my personal favs, but CoD 4 kind of made CoD the behemoth it is today; and for good reason.
22. http://vsrecommendedgames.wikia.com/wiki//v/%27s_Recommended_Games_Wiki /v/'s list of recommended games is one of my most favourite sites. Especially if you're looking for underrated stuff or hidden gems.
23. I need a scary game to play this halloween, but I can't stand those hide-and-seek games like Amnesia, Slenderman, and that one with the green camera. I should pick up Slaughterhouse. I've only played the original but it was pretty cool. I wonder if I can pull myself away from GTAO long enough to do that.
24. Some level 45+ missions and all the survivals give you like, 20k. And what you're buying is the colour; which can be reused on any future parachutes you get. Works like clothing; once you buy it you have it. There's a free chute on top of Mt. Chilliad still; and although I'm not there yet I assume that once you max out flying you still get the bonus that gives you a parachute everytime you get in a plane. The other day some guy was talking to his buddy in this freemode game about how he was trying to parachute off of Chilliad. I snuck up behind him in a helicopter, being careful to stay behind him so I wasn't on his radar (he wasn't very attentive). As soon as I see him jump, I fly straight underneath him and swoop up. BZZZZZZT. There's an explosion of bloody particle effects as he hits the blades. Was hilarious. I'm sure you've all figured it out by now, but you can do this through the internet on your phone. I might be down to join your guises crew if you'll have me, but I'm in a purely powerleveling crew right now so I'm gonna wait till I hit 100~125ish.
25. They're removing the RMAH. I'm actually really pissed about that. I made a bunch of money off it and I loved the game because of it. I dunno how long I can actually grind loot without the incentive. I know I'm in the minority here.
