  1. Just Cause 2 Duke Nukem 3D (probably like the 10th platform I've bought it on) Civ 5 Gold (I'm not big on the Civ series but Ethan plays it like, 24/7 so it's probably good) Surgeon Simulator
  2. You gotta wonder how often typical friendly voice chat in games like Grand Theft Auto or Payday will set off NSA warning bells.
  3. I have a hard time trusting people who have played Eve. Some seriously shady shit goes on there. Bioshock is five bucks. I much prefer the first to the third for having probably the best gunplay I've ever seen in a game and cool water effects. Hotline Miami costs quite a few peanuts less then it usually does; and it's fucking awesome.
  4. Lucius is either gonna be one of the funniest or one of the spookiest games you'll ever play; depending on how demented you are. Was surprised I hadn't really heard too much about it before coming across it randomly on YouTube one day (under the well deserved title of "weirdest game over ever"). Now I realize that it's probably due to a plethora of bugs and some slack game design in certain aspects, but the premise is sweet enough that it's all worth it. Basically it's a cross between Hitman's gameplay and the plot of The Omen. You play as the six year old spawn of Satan and have to systematically kill everyone who lives with you in this big mansion, and make it look like an accident. All the while you have to do simple chores like cleaning your room and getting to bed on time so everybody stays under the impression that you're a good little boy. If they decide to go forth and turn this game into a franchise, they should totally just skip Lucius II and go straight to Lucius III. Y'know, the one where Lucius becomes president of the USA. I would play the shit out of that.
  5. The value of a dollar is different for everyone; I know that it means a lot more to a 12 year old then somebody my age. Two of the games I bought went on flash sale twenty minutes later. Guess how many fucks I gave. No, really, guess.
  6. Only you could take issue with a Steam sale, FDS.
  7. That time of year again. Oh, I forgot Hotline Miami. Cart kept resetting cause I was taking so long and I forgot to put it back in. Good thing I looked at my own post. Hoping Tomb Raider, Kerbals, and Serious Sam get better sales throughout the week so I can add those too.
  8. If "X-Box" had made it on that list it still would have been cringe worthy. We just grow accustomed the stupid names we give shit. I mean, Nintendo has a console that is literally named after piss and nobody bats an eye.
  9. I'm getting too far in this game to fuck up my character; Can somebody tell me what the point of leveling the attack skill in Dust: An Elysian Tail is? Or should I just avoid it? I know it does more damage but that's pointless considering you get more xp for hitting guys more times.
  10. Is it just the Europe stuff that you didn't hear about, or are you unfamiliar with the whole PRISM/Snowden/Leaked documents thing? It's like, a pretty big deal. I'm kinda surprised somebody could just miss the whole thing.
  11. I picked up Furamasa while it was on steam sale. It's decent; a bit on the easy side so far though. The skills are complete garbage (leveling up is actually detrimental to your XP gain? wtf?), but the combat is fun enough so far. Filled out this collection as well, which I'm probably not touching till I have a lot of time and little to play someday... which is looking like it might be next year.
  12. It's kinda bullshit then that their little infographic rewords it to make it sound free for everybody.
  13. Backing up the indie support theory... http://blogs.unity3d.com/2013/06/27/build-conference/ Unity will be developing tools for XBone; and they'll be available for free to licensed Unity Pro users. Normally it costs $1500 to get a licence to use Unity on a platform other than PC, so I imagine Microsoft offered them a pretty sweet deal for the partnership.
  14. To add to that; when the top comment is along the lines of "looks like I'm in that part of youtube again".
  15. My point was that you're going to lose money because people aren't paying for the game; whether it's comes directly through steam or not is irrelevant. Just because a game is on steam with DRM doesn't mean it can't be pirated (actually it means it will 100% definitely be pirated); I listed a bunch of examples a few posts up. XBL is no different, except it has a much smaller pirate community because you have to jump through all kinds of hoops to get pirated games working. You have to find someone who can mod your console and take a risk at either getting banned or not being able to access any online features. Plus you need a DVD burner and optical drives are becoming less common.
  16. - Google "(name of the game) torrent" or "(name of the game) download"; whichever you prefer.. - Download. They come from what's commonly known as 'scene' groups. They can come from anybody, but Scene groups usually build a reputation on having less buggy releases and clean installs, so they're usually more trusted in the pirating community. These individuals operate at a huge risk for little gain and largely do it because they believe that major media publishers are profiteering off old media formats when better distribution methods exist that eliminate the middleman and help bring more profits to the artist. Some of the most popular ones for games include; ReLOADED FLT SKiDROW iMARS
  17. It'll actually pull a shitload of indie developers over. The way it currently stands, you can release a game on Steam and get robbed by pirates, or you can release a game on XBL and get robbed by Microsoft (on top of an estimated $40,000 to release an upgrade, the developer rarely gets to decide the price of their XBL content). I don't think this is so much XBone related as it is a long overdue change in policy. People have been complaining about this for a while. Pretty sure it's a big reason why Jonathan Blow's new game is supposed to be PS4 and PC exclusive.
  18. True, but I'm still of the opinion that when you reboot a franchise within 2 years of the old one ending you're just begging for more money. I'm actually more excited about the Justice League Dark movie that Del Toro wants to do. It's got Swamp Thing and shit.
  19. Nah, I don't think that was ever the plan. At this point, DC pretty much have no plan, as far as I can tell. They might try to make this one the first pillar of building something but there's absolutely no hint of that in the movie. It is actually the plan; http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0974015/ http://screenrant.com/justice-league-movie-release-date-2015/ But they're going to reboot Batman (I know, rite ) and use a different one than Nolan's.
  20. Yes, that's all correct. Use full cover only and move one direction at a time. Don't move everybody, every turn; instead keep half your guys on overwatch and push with the other half. This way if you run into a dude you'll at least have a chance to take a shot at him. People will die; it will be total bullshit when they do, but it's doable. It will get quite a bit easier after you get some better armor and laser weapons.
  21. Sega died a hero; Microsoft has lived long enough to see itself become the villain. Is that really gonna be enough to drive sales to a profitable margin though? I think people are really underestimating the power of word of mouth. Just because a person doesn't play a whole lot of video games, chances are they probably know at least one person who knows the scene that they'll talk about it with. I honestly think about 95% of my friends have consulted me before buying a console. If somebody tells me they're buying an X-Box next gen, damn sure I'll be droppin some knowledge on them. Also; I'm surprised nobody has brought up the Amazon poll yet; http://www.ibtimes.com/ps4-gamers-strongly-prefer-ps4-xbox-one-according-amazon-poll-photo-1307919 Basically Amazon put a poll up on Facebook asking people what console they would get. 30k for PS4; 1.6k for X-Box. Being an online poll though; it doesn't mean much. Reddit or 4chan might have had some influence on it (I have no idea).
