Beat me to it.

A genre film is like a b-movie but with more ambition and quality execution. You usually see them more in film festivals then in theaters, but a lot of the stuff Sam Raimi and Wes Craven have directed could be considered genre films; Kill Bill is kind of a genre film too.

Sushi Girl. One of my favourite movies. I actually saw it at a film festivals when it first came out but I rewatched it recently cause it's on Netflix streaming now. It is to genre fans what The Avengers is to comic book fans. Be warned; it's a torture film, like Saw or Hostel, so if you can't stand to watch that kind of stuff I wouldn't bother with it. Best part about it is that some of the actors are reenacting roles that made them famous. Namely; Mark Hamill is playing a live action, R-rated Joker.

I've been locked away for days unlocking everything on Plague Inc. Been pulling late nights doing that damn zombie mission on brutal since Monday; finally got it this morning and that feeling is SO DAMN SATISFYING.

Not grabbing that infusion was my biggest regret. I couldn't stop thinking about it the whole game. The guys turn on you shortly after that anyway. Some things are just worth fighting for.

Not aesthetically. Bioshock and Deus Ex are considered spiritual sequels to System Shock. They couldn't do a direct sequel because (I think) it's EA who currently owns the rights. Ken Levine was lead designer on both Bioshock and System Shock 2 however and there are huge similarities in gameplay. System Shock 1 was designed by Doug Church, who would eventually work with Warren Spector on Deus Ex.

If you turn while using Crows it increases the area of effect too.

How I did the final battle;

The level designer gave a tip for that on his twitter today... https://twitter.com/ShawnElliott/status/318197617207156737 Play System Shock 2 co-op with me. I'm just about to start a new game and eventually I'll need somebody to kill the spiders while I sit in the corner and cry like a little girl. Plus it's literally a 1999 release.

It's probably a reused sound effect (bending metal, makes sense); but it's super weird. At the very best they might have gone through all the little things in Bioshock to try and create a subtle reference but more than likely it's prolly just dumb luck that adds to the experience quite a bit. If I were Ken Levine though, I'd be all over twitter right now taking credit for this.

I can't find the image for the life of me, but I remember when I was a little kid (prolly around 10 or so) and Lara appeared on the cover of PC Gamer in a black bikini. Bought it with my own allowance but my parents took it away almost immediately. Being the huge Tomb Raider fan that I was, I begged for like a month to get it back. They let me read it with supervision. I immediately start going though the article and at one point I'm like "Oh my god, mom! They finally have the technology to make her PONYTAIL! They say it's gonna bounce around and everything!" (this was actually a huge thing at the time; in TR 1 Lara's ponytail is tucked into her shirt because processors couldn't manage it). They let me read the magazine on my own after that. Years later my mom told me that for a while my parents thought I was gay for going on about her ponytail so much and not swooning over the cover.

I like FPS games. I play GRO on the reg (which is third person but whatever). I just expected a lot more from Bioshock Infinite. Bioshock 1 and 2 were so creative in the way you could combo weapons and I found it really disappointing that they replaced that with a pretty generic cover based system. Didn't help that the battles drag out a lot longer and for many of them you don't have the same opportunities to plan your attack and sneak around to set traps and hack turrets and such. I didn't completely hate it either; I just didn't have a great time with it.

Pretty sure that never actually happens.

EDIT: I just picked all the obvious non-violent choices cause I'm a little angel. :3

I never said it was intentional; that's just my super cool fan theory.

Interestingly enough; in explaining this I've actually realized something... Spoilers for System Shock 1/2, Bioshock's spiritual predecessor;

That was a hard post to format.

The other day my friend and I dropped our placement matches, started in bronze league, and got to platinum in about two and a half hours just doing double 7 pools.

Beyond just gaming though; if there's actually a point where you can look at a screen 'too much' there's probably a lot of people who reach that threshold these days. I mean, some people do that 8 hours a day at work and then come home and play video games. If you're one of those people I might suggest that these glasses are more or less essential. I'm really hoping Google Glass introduces a pair with this sort of lens.

I grabbed a pair of those Gunnar gaming glasses a few weeks ago cause my eyes were bothering me. I was kind of worried that they'd be a scam, given that they make some pretty outlandish claims on their website, but they're actually really great. Eye strain is gone and as a bonus I've noticed my sleeping habits have actually improved since I've started wearing them. Plus they make me look cool. Recommend.
