  1. Came by it again: https://twitter.com/XboxSupport2/status/345219980146655233
  2. The open world still strikes me as a bit weird still since it's essentially a racing game. It was a lot more fun beating times in the little challenges then it was playing the story. In open world racing games that I've played (admittedly not many), the world served little purpose other then to get to your next track. I feel like they'd need to change the gameplay an awful lot to make the open world worthwhile. Definitely looking forward to it though.
  3. The problem I have with trailers where the hero is performing a bunch of cool acrobatic maneuvers is that the game often ends up being some plain old first or third person shooter. If this actually plays like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater but with shotguns and zombies then fuck yes I'm in.
  4. I believe they don't go down in price because they sell consistently. You don't have big first week sales on Nintendo games, but it'll sell just as well a year later as it did when it came out. I think it was Mario Kart DS or something like that that was in the top 10 in sales for almost a year but never actually hit first place. Nintendo isn't one to name names or start shit, but if your company is talking used games sales right now you are most definitely referencing Microsoft's folly; whether that be directly or indirectly. They could have stopped the article at "Nintendo games don't get traded in as much", but it becomes "Nintendo games don't get traded in because they're better".
  5. The power button is back in. I was reading about that earlier and some X-Box guy tweeted that there will be a power button, but I can't remember who it was that tweeted that. Also; it seems Nintendo is kind of taking shots at Microsoft in their own ultra polite Nintendo kind of way... http://www.polygon.com/2013/6/13/4426338/nintendo-if-youre-worried-about-used-game-sales-make-better-games
  6. He looks like he's embarrassed to have to be the one doing the interview in the first place. And also a bit like Bob Odenkirk.
  7. Smash Brothers and Killer is Dead in addition to that is more than enough reason for me; on top of Monster Hunter already being on there. X just kind of gave me the nudge I needed but I think I've decided on my first console this gen. No one feature or game should ever sell a console; but Nintendo has had a pretty awesome E3 overall.
  8. I guess I should share the trailer then... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6Q4ld4uqcY Looks fucking awesome but needs a more metal-er soundtrack.
  9. Are we just gonna gloss over the fact that Nintendo announced a Xenoblade successor where you pilot a mech and punch dinosaurs in their stupid fucking faces?
  10. It didn't occur to me because every year I try it, and every year I think I've got the job done, and then the next year another bill comes in. It's been going on since my X-Box RRoD'd, which was only 2 years ago, so without all the hyperbole this will be the third time I've attempted it. The removal process is actually total bullshit; I can confirm that beyond the shadow of a doubt.
  11. God-fucking-speed, my friend. I've been trying to do this for years myself. And thanks for the guide Atom.
  12. This is the only clean joke I know... Edit: This is the cleanest joke I know... There's this bus driver en route to Seseme Street. On the way he sees these two fat twin sisters standing at a bus stop so he pulls over. and goes; "Hey! Going to Seseme Street? What are your names?" "My name is Patty" says the one sister "And my name is Patty, too!" says the other sister So they get on. Ten minutes later bus driver sees this slightly retarded looking kid at a stop so he pulls over. and goes; "Hey! Going to Seseme Street? What's your name?" "My name is Ross and I'm special!" Says the slightly retarded looking kid So the bus driver helps him take his seat and carries on down the road. About twenty minutes later as they're coming around the countryside the bus driver sees this real redneck spitting tobacco at the foot of the bus stop sign so he pulls over and goes; "Hey! Going to Seseme Street? What's your name?" "My name is Cletus; Cletus Chee! Hyuk!" So the bus driver lets him on and carries on his way. For the most part it was a pretty uneventful trip from then on, except for one point about halfway through when one of the Patties screamed "EWW! That guy keeps playing with his feet!". Finally they all arrive safely at Seseme Street. The exhausted bus driver opens the doors and watches everyone depart, then parks the bus at a station about a mile down the road. With his day finished, he crosses his arms around the wheel, sets his head to rest on them, lets out a deep sigh and says;
  13. I hear this is a really good series. Now if somebody would be so kind as to explain it to me it would be much appreciated. I haven't been this overwhelmed by a game since XCOM was spelled with a hyphen.
  14. I can't even remember the last time an original game from a major publisher did much more than break even, let alone have Battlefield sales. If that's the standard it's set way too high. I think Mirror's Edge 2 would be a fucking huge success if they don't wait too long.
  15. I just watched Pontypool and really enjoyed it. It's all about these people who are at a radio station doing a show when people start turning into these faux-zombie things. It's pretty creepy considering you don't really see the "zombies" all that much for the first 3/4s of the movie and most of the scariest bits are auditory stuff; them getting phonecalls and whatnot.
  16. Business mechanics; especially in open world games and RPGs. The whole sell for half price mechanic is getting a little tired. We should be able to do things like buy wholesale or take items long distances and sell them at higher prices in areas where there is more demand. Remember how awesome it was slinging coke in Chinatown wars?
  17. I really hope they bring back the gay hitmen at some point; but I've been hoping that for 4 seasons now. I think they've just kind of put all their gay material into Ray, who I don't think was one of the main characters yet at that point in the series. Still my favourite episode.
  18. I just bought 3 booster packs (essentially XP boosts with some added items and cash) for Uncharted Waters Online. They're 70% off this week and I'm debating buying 6 more before that sale ends. I'm probably crazy for doing so seeing as how I've yet to even complete the games 100 hour tutorial.
  19. Because I misread that 'master race' thing the first time through; I just wanna say I hate Zerg players in any StarCraft community who are all high and mighty because their race was underpowered two goddamn years ago.
  20. Super fucking stupid fact: Because of some weird copyright stuff, if there were ever another Killer Instinct game it would have to be developed by Rare/Microsoft and published by Nintendo. It's prolly not gonna happen. "I designed the machine to detect acts of terror but it sees everything. Violent crimes involving ordinary people; people like you. Crimes the government considered.... irrelevant."
  21. Bring back disc changers.

I'm just trying to remember the last time I listened to a CD.

  22. "My couch pulls out, but I don't" "Are you free tonight or is it gonna cost me?" "On a scale of one to ten how old are you?" *falls right into Hell*
  23. http://www.google.com/finance?q=NYSE:SNE Sony's stock rose 10% today. Ouch. (If you're curious, Microsofts went down slightly but not by a significant amount). Oh, and about the 'more powerful over time' comment; would anybody even have a source more reliable then Reddit; or know if they actually said something along those lines during the presentation? The only way I can see them even remotely accomplishing this is if they're talking about driver updates.
  24. I just got in from work and didn't get to see the presentation; seems like every article is detailing specific features when all I want are the Cliff Notes. Can somebody clear up two things for me? - There are mandatory installs on every game, right? Is the 500GB model the only model and will that be enough? - One of the bullet points in the Reddit thread reads "Due to its cloud computing capabilities, the XBOX One can become more powerful over time." That's quite vague and I'm not sure I buy it. Anyone know the details behind this claim? To be honest I can't say I'm surprised that a lot of what they've unveiled so far hasn't been especially oriented towards gamers. I mean, even today it's not uncommon for a household television set to have a half dozen electronic boxes attached to it, each with their own individual remotes and connections. Meanwhile everything we used to carry in our pockets has been condensed into a single smartphone. Wouldn't surprise me if in a few generations they stopped releasing consoles altogether and started releasing TV's that support games.
