  1. In b4 FDS: It's also on 360 and PS3 (and presumably has a "Low" option on PC)
  2. If they're not passing it off on governments why put the EU flag behind the "Censored" message? Surely they've got plenty of vector purple whirlwind logos to whack on the backgrounds instead. (Though as for Australia they actually do have issues with game censorship)
  3. Hey that's two days before I celebrate my release date and I've already booked that whole week off but I'm gonna guess that that's the US date and UK will be on the 30th (friday) and I'm away that weekend for my gran's birthday. Hmm.
  4. The Incredibles babysat my younger siblings, was as good an excuse as any. Still a pretty damn good film. Just love Edna Mode. Love how stylized it all is. The CGI is noticeably dated compared to current techniques, but once again aesthetics wins out so not of it really matters.
  5. Discworld: Ankh Morpork Played it last week, only just getting around to the write up. I quite enjoyed it. We'd played Lords of Waterdeep a few days before and it felt quite a bit like that at it's core. You're each different characters with different win conditions (actually 3 of them are the same win conditions) and the aim is to meet those conditions while trying to stop others. For the most part though you'll mainly be focused on your own win conditions because those are hard enough to line up all the dominoes on without having to think of screwing over others (and many of the win conditions are parallel so screwing others is hard to do without screwing yourself). A fair bit of the charm is in the Discworld lore and how that relates to the cards you play, so wizzards tend to have "Random Events" and members of Assassins's Guild have "Assassination" options. Oh yeah, cards you draw, along with a name and a picture, have several icons at the top. You usually only play one card per turn, except where you have the green "play another" icon. They usually let you remove or add pieces(minions, houses and "trouble") to the board, except for the scrolls which are special conditions written on the card or Random Events (the star icon) which is a case of flip a random event card and follow instructions (usually roll the dice, destroy items in those zones) You each get a sort of mat too which has quick play rules on them, the rule book is really just for setting up, expanding upon the win conditions and a FAQ for a couple of the cards such as the Fools Guild (can't remove it from your hand no matter what). It's quite a nice thing to have since it means you don't really need the rulebook after the first turn and between goes you can consult the win conditions (it's in the rules that you all have to explicitly know the win conditions of all the cards to avoid a "oh I didn't know they could win that way" issue which'd ruin the mood).I'd say only major issue with it is I have no idea how Vimes is meant to win except by luck (he only wins if all the main draw deck has ran out. Since you can only play one card per turn unless you have cards that way otherwise, it's hard to force the deck to get lower, compared to being able to place specific amount of minions on the board).

    OnLive

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-03-05-after-18-months-of-silence-game-streaming-service-onlive-returns-with-cloudlift Onlive returns. Now with the streaming service of the past, and "CloudLift" which ties in with your Steam account to stream the games you own on Steam (and they'll sell Steam keys too). No longer doing individual game sales (though you keep on games if you had them previously.)
  7. http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/mar/05/south-park-stick-of-truth-game-censored-europe I'm kind of hoping a bigger stink is made about this. Basically Ubisoft have censored Stick of Truth in Europe and for some reason trying to pass it off onto the government despite (apart from Germany) them having very little to do with games ratings which is all done through PEGI which can't censor stuff (and as the article covers they'd already rated the uncut version at 18 anyway). Bit of a dick move and I don't really understand what Ubisoft expects to gain. They're knocking out a South Park game that they've censored and unless Ubisoft has some weird thing going on with politics they've nothing to gain from trying to make it look like EU is doing it.

You know without any of the above requested info I/support can't do much.

I feel bad for finding that as amusing as I do.

  11. Water would make sense given the hardware involved (which is likely what's dictated "smoke" as a power too). Fourth could likely be electricity, for old times sake.
  12. I played..I think a Resident Evil game. Does it start at like a car wreck or something and folks & dogs coming at you. Couldn't get past it, it just got put in a pile (was from a bunch of games uncle had ion a chipped console). As for MGS, played about 10 minutes of MGS4. People weren't joking about them cutscenes.

Yeah this would be after I tell the forum support dude "you know what, since submitting this ticket it's been pretty fine". Tickets open next five days, if any could maybe make note of times(including timezone)/ roughly geographical location/device/and maybe ISP then PM onto me (Or DM/Facebook/whatever method you know of getting in touch if forum is /really/ slow) and I can pass that onto the support guy and they'll potentially be able to pinpoint stuff.

See those things used to be super broke, but did get sorted with the apache move. But in general still pretty slow.

So I figured I'd make an official post though for the most part you're all pretty well aware of the current issues. Basically forum is running pretty crappy at the moment, and for the most part it is just the forum, I've not really noticed any issues with the main PXOD site. Less than two weeks back were were moved onto a different Apache service and it went well for a couple days and now it's back to past slowness again. There's an upcoming major version (Version 4.00) of the forum software which I'm hoping, since major versions tend to be a pretty much fresh install, will alleviate any issues. Until then it's unfortunately a case of crossing fingers and hoping whatever is up goes away, or holding out for the new version of the forum.
  19. According to reviews Baconrath is a solid 25/100 on metacrtic (based on one user review)

    Banished

(big image, best to right click - open in new tab) My town as of a couple days ago. So quaint and unindustrialised. I'm at about 240 citizens at the moment and have most of the trade items. Year 71. I figure my next game should go quite a bit smoothly. I really do like about this game that you learn something new each time. Very iterative. Bit like Doomsday. I now have two spin-off towns (which pretty handily eclipse my first town, especially my farmville) and two mini-villages that sit on weird spots of the map. Got Markets sorted out, and find they actually help quite a lot. Though they're pretty huge for what they do. I'm at a stage at the moment where I'm going to need to figure out how I deal with food since building farms is breaching my forester, gatherer and herb zones. And since the above image is not long after my little almost apocalypse I'm now well stocked for people making food and shit. In fact I have too many people for the jobs I have going except to make everyone mine and quarry. I think next game will likely be a much bigger map too. Also I'm half debating reviewing the game. Got a few paragraphs already written in my mind, just need Hot_Heart to keep on my back and I might have my first post of 2014 written.
  21. Visually it was a pretty great movie. But in most other areas it kinda fell a bit short.
  22. I think given they now have about 8 Marvel movies under their belt and a TV series that the brand in film is doing pretty well. It could still do with a bit of bolstering here and there, but it's nearing gold dust status to have [MARVEL] at the top of a films name. So Guardians will be in a food place, and they've more faith in their films too so marketing will be pretty pumping as the film comes nearer (it's got 6 months to go, I imagine summer is going to be pretty heavy with trailers and adverts for it. Especially given positive response so far).
