  1. FFX the International version is only in Europe so... edit: I would guess based on the data that "International" means "not America".
  2. As noted by Lewie Procter CEX (They do used consoles, phones, games, gadgets, films etc) now have Xbox One sold for less than a PS4, and bought for less too. https://twitter.com/LewieP/status/420130044212953088
  3. @Gerbil: Here's a list of Linux games http://store.steampowered.com/browse/linux/ They should all in theory run on SteamOS, and it does include Metro Last Light. So far however there hasn't been much in the way of major publisher support and you're certainly not going to see EA games on there anytime soon. Might see Bethesda on there though since they're quite chummy with Valve. Main thing is the porting cost and effort. For Indies their games are generally much smaller, simpler and built using frameworks that support multi-OS export so not so hard to do. But big studios tend to use in-house engines and it's expensive enough support Windows alongside consoles, never mind dividing that up. It's very much a wait and see really. Valve could have a few aces up their sleeves and it is CES this week which is where they first showed their prototype last year.
  4. Actually the international version was Japan only for FFX-2. So it'll be a first for pretty much everyone. FFX tips:
  5. Yeah saw word of that a while ago (though without case). Now they just need to hope and pray that the OS they intend to run will support that parts they've chosen to put into it. Which also surely makes a BF4 benchmark moot since unless you grab yourself a copy of Windows to install, negating the "Steam machine" stuff, it'll never run it at all nevermind at 85fps.
  6. It's ion Japanese, but shouldn't stop you if you've played the game enough In general, though not helped by being in 720p if you've a PC able to run PCSX2 fine you're probably solid enough, unless you want trophies. Oh and the re-done FMVs (but they'll likely end up online eventually)
  7. It becomes a lot less impressive when you realise this can't be used to cut down a tree in a few seconds since it only cuts logs already laying down.
  8. I started playing Blood Dragon, but after a laborious set-up (in which it turned out it never quit too, which wooh free cards) I got into playing it a bit and it was fun but the aesthetics of dark colours and neon lights matched way too much of SRIV that I'd already spent 20+hrs playing this week so I moved onto the colourful Amalur. I've just arrived at the village of "this elf is clearly hurting bad, but we'll just reference the woman feet away while asking you to do a quest". Man did it need a UX designer bad though, swapping out inventory, which you get frequently, is a pretty long-winded task. Not helped by all your equipment and weapons being put in one big list.
  9. Well to be fair a part of what generally makes PC a "superior machine" is because you can pretty much hook it up with whatever controller input you wish. All the 7th gen controllers work with PC, including Kinect, and 8th gen is looking to head that way too with just Xbone being the hold-out at the moment. Most PC vs Console stuff tends to boil down to open vs closed nature of the two. You don't have much choice on what controller you want to play a console game with.
  10. I'm still using the same 360 pad, used it to beat SRIV. Simple case that while many games on PC are built for kb/m, there's a ton of console-first cross-platform games where kb/m controls are ill thought out and it just makes sense in the end to use a 360 controller and save on the bother.

I'm on the same old blu-ray drive. And now I can actually make use of it again since I've got HDMI out on this GPU (stupid HDCP)
  12. Saints Row IV. Pretty much more of the goofiness of Saints Row the Third with some nice referencing to the older games. My only major complaints with the game would be the platforming sections weren't that great (the towers are best done early on otherwise you'll have too many super powers and end up flying past all the stages) and failed some missions due to awkward physics/issues like being rammed into a wall and unable to move out of the way of the tank or "The Key" flying sky high into the water where I can't telekinesis it. Last boss mission was a bit of a drag too devolving into the usual "lets throw everything at them". There's plenty of powers, couldn't they figure a way to make use of them?

Nah, don't much bother with overclocking. And yeah an SSD is likely on the menu down the line.
  14. http://arts.nationalpost.com/2014/01/03/cultural-lessons-of-2013-thor-is-the-new-superman/ Via HotHeart. I think it's a solid sentiment. Though ultimately it boils down to MoS not being that good a film and the Marvel cinematic universe being pretty well done mainly due to Marvel really throwing themselves at it and actually owning the comics too.

Case: Corsair Carbide 300R CPU: Intel i5 4570 3.2ghz RAM: 8GB Crucial Ballistix Elite GPU: Gigabyte 760 OC Windforce MoBo: AsRock z87 Extreme3 HDD: 2 1TB WD drives, from my old PC. So far not managed to run it through it's paces, still getting drivers and such. Likely tomorrow I might have to do a re-install but it seems to be working perfectly fine. Case is great, though I'll likely end up getting something to pop into the top be it some dust filter or some extra fans cos a big ass grill just doesn't feel great to me. But given the fact I've assembled and disassembled it several times I think I've got a good hang of how well the case is going and I'll certainly be keeping it around for a while.

    Steam

Lots of large botnets around there to be able to take on services like these.
  17. I said it was grossly expensive. Also I will add anyone who goes out to buy and cook a whole chicken for the reason of making sandwiches is a nut. You use the leftover chicken from eating the whole chicken as part of a proper meal. Also on the third one: Tuna and Maize. I'm not a fan but that's mainly cos I dislike the taste of sweetcorn tinned, but am fine with corn on the cob. Just tuna sandwiches on it's own are fine though. I quite like fish food sandwiches, prawn mayo, mackerel*, tuna.
  18. Apart from being grossly expensive on making it yourself there's nothing much different between pre-made sandwich filler and the stuff you'd make at home. Though I guess cultural differences in immigration/empire building would mean I guess America likely doesn't have coronation chicken and chicken tikka sandwich fillings at all.
  19. They're like pre-mixed stuff like coronation chicken, tuna and sweetcorn, chicken tikka etc
  20. There's a potential chance just using "clammy" wrong, but it's the closest word I can think of. edit: as for sandwiches falling apart I guess if all you use is sandwich filler from the store, which tend to be mixed with mayo which also acts as a glue, do you not have like bits of chicken/chips/crisps/tomato/lettuce/fish fingers/etc falling out the other side while you're eating?
  21. Well butter is wet and bread is dry. It's a bit like the whole "how many crackers can you eat without butter" thing just not as extreme.
  22. Americans don't put butter on their bread when making a sandwich? How do you keep the filling from falling out/not making our mouth all clammy? Also how do you make any money if you don't have your bread and butter?
  23. Our lots picks written up all on the blog http://pressxordie.com/2014/01/02/my-games-of-2013-dean/ http://pressxordie.com/2014/01/02/my-games-of-2013-james/ http://pressxordie.com/2014/01/02/my-games-of-2013-gregg/ http://pressxordie.com/2014/01/02/my-games-of-2013-darrell/
