  1. http://www.hejibits.com/comics/fiery-fumble/ I'm to understand this is a thing (obviously not the end part, but the whole "let's put that back in my pack" part)
  2. Ah. So being threatening then? (Would probably explain it being "assault and battery", but not like legaldom is known for being succinct)
  3. Doesn't aggravated assault require...assault?
  4. Okay I kinda lied on what I've been listening to. But this one isn't on purpose, it has just been playing in the back of my mind for the last few days solid. Not even Hotline Miami has wiped it out.
  5. See part of me is thinking there has to be some bigger picture. Especially with the second one, 20 years for discharging a gun in warning with no one harmed or killed seems really weird.
  6. What evidence otherwise? as far as I'm to understand this only affects jailbroken devices and so far has had no false positives (which would make it super terrible, such as that game making tool on Steam writing over everyones images with a skull n crossbones logo despite legitimately owning it).
  7. They're only nitpicky because hotheart asked for nitpicky. As I said in the last comment the only one that majorly got to me was the end part. Partly because it was super cliche (heck a most of the film was).
  8. @TME: Well sure there's a time it's okay to casually mention stuff. Most folks have already stated in the year+ realm, and a tad longer for some of the really out their stuff. Haven't said anything there's an indefinite/infinite period of time, in fact quite the opposite given I pointed out I put it into the forum rules to be 2 years, which I reckon is a time most would be fine with. The solution I guess is for folks to not be dicks about it. Always seems a good solution to many things. The price point is a slightly different matter somewhat unrelated given, as mentioned, and even more so given the period of gaming time were in at this very moment, not always, or needing to be, £40 a pop. Anyway it's kinda funny your response to Tenshi then being much the same with your "waa movie theaters" (Movie theaters are also only about a 1/5 of the cost). Oh on other places that are hard to get from, the official trailer of FFX HD spoiled a pivotal twist of the story. Sure it's a 10 year old game, but not everyone has played it.
  9. Jailbroken apps don't work differently...except when they do.
  10. Oh you want more? They just didn't bother me as much as the one I highlighted. I guess because that was at the end and harder to be brushed away by the films continuing action.
  11. Except they did program it to work differently on jailbroken devices, that's the point of this topic. Are you sure it's not you that's missed the point (given you've been so adamant to argue in this thread you've argued with Ethan at least twice when aiming for me)?
  12. I don't think it will, it hasn't even gone onto basic drop. I think with it having 38studios listed as publisher (though I swear EA did it, maybe just on consoles) and they're defunct it might not be in Steam's realm to issue a price drop on it or get in contact with anyone to ask if they'd be up with a price drop on it (Though where is the money going to if that's the case?)
  13. Pacific Rim (courtesy of my "boss"). Much like Superman it's a film with big mech suits fighting big godzilla things and that's what I went in expecting and that's what I got. Though I'll admit there was a slight bit of me expecting just a little something extra and special the way some folks had been hyping this up, and that was lacking. For the most part it was cliche and predictable. Anywho, I had to google Charlie Hunnam (due to housemates recent sunny Netflix viewing I knew of the other Charlie, conveniently also called Charlie in real life) and turns out he's the main guy. He was a bit poop, but hooray for supporting cast. Though..owen harper man. What was that? At least he maintained that throughout the film. The cinematography hower was fucking atrocious. Even more so given they had a reference point for how to shoot it. Not once did they think "hey, our film will have folks inside a robotic suit, can we think of any recent films with that we could maybe see how they managed to show both the interior and exterior action in a reasonable manner?". It was all over the place, cutting way too fast and zooming in too close or on random splashes to get any sense of what's going on and hey suddenly part of the suit is missing. For a film that primarily focused around the fights it was pretty badly handled.
  14. now it does.
  15. Maritan picked me up Metro Last Light, which once I pointed out my Pc might be a bit on low-end at the moment for that I then got System Shock thrown my way with "well this should run surely?" Metal Caveman grabbed me Skyrim: Hearthfire.
  16. A New Vegas-ish fan film. I've not watched it through mind, just bits n bobs. Gonna find time to sit down n watch it later, but getting quite a bit of praise for the quality.
  17. As far as seeing spoilers, there's plenty of social networks where it's a jumble of much of everything and can be hard to avoid unmarked spoilers. You don't necessarily have to dive right into a post titled "Game that came out two days ago and what I think" to be spoiled. And a fair chunk of his post on the elitism inherent with spoilers is kind of being proved here. On the luxury side of things, game don't necessarily have to cost that much (and increasingly with DLC and all that lot the price is going up even more).
  18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUq5leMN7eo The Man of Steel soundtrack. Not actually been listening to much tunes of late, likely because I tend to listen to tunes when walking about town and given I've been purposefully avoiding heat of late that hasn't happened much. I've a feeling Hotline Miami is going to cycle into my playlist in the future.
  19. Thanks to the Market and Trading cards I'm slowly building up a tidy little piggybank with which to splash out on either a small bit of DLC or a random small heavily discounted game. So far got £2.82.

    Terrible Jokes

Saw a cheap TV being sold at Argos with the sign "Volume stuck on full". I though "can't turn that down!". @MJ:Just kinda realised the idea of small talk with deliveryman is kinda weird, not even sure where you'd wedge it in in here. Kinda just open door, confirm name, get food, and close door again.
  21. I know they programmed it to not work on a jailbroken device as a form of DRM, as already covered the "oh it must be an anti-piracy thing" was my first post on this matter. And the fact the phones are jailbroken is exactly why the game doesn't work, it even says in the pop up "the gun don't work on jailbroken devices". So yes, it doesn't work because it's a jailbroken device, how can you be this ignorant?

    Broken Age

Nah he's an investor, has this "Dracogen" company to invest through. Notch is the one that comes under "rich superfan" designation (though obviously had at one point been in talks to fund Psychonauts 2) The problem with KS is so far it's just rewards, nothing promised. And there's certainly no obligation for the rewards to be products either. Even on a project scale I'm not sure how it would work if the project is unsuccessful. Assumedly you'd have spent the backing money and been unable to get off the ground with your project, so what money will be used to refund the backers?
  23. I don't think the expectation is to keep hold of spoilers for years after release, maybe a few months is always nice (and certainly not within a couple of days, before even launched to rest of the world, as our favourites gaming site did with Arkham City). And it's not necessarily the issue of the spoilers themselves but the reaction around them to people who haven't played the games immediately. Games being a luxury as an absolute truth is likely a matter for another thread though. @Tenshi: eloquently stated counter discussion. I guess another discussion on the topic (I was tired so didn't throw this section in): How long till spoilers are accepted as common knowledge or not needing to be protected any longer. For example as it stands on here story spoilers are in a two year range.
  24. The official trailer. So this one is unlikely to get taken down.
  25. I know your point is that you don't reckon it's legal. I just think it's a bit of an extreme viewpoint of advertising laws. As it has been 6 years since the iPhone came out and so far no legal action has been taken with regards to apps to show if they work with jailbroken phones or not I would lean in the direction of it not being something Apple are required to do. I'll be honest, kinda assumed iPads were included in the "you're allowed to jailbreak it" camp. So you learn something new.
