  1. Except it is a Square Enix game. That's like saying Call of Duty isn't an Activision game. Square Enix is more than just Final Fantasy now, get used to it.
  2. I'm gonna guess people are forgetting Square Enix don't just make Final Fantasy games.
  3. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-07-10-square-enix-current-generation-has-been-way-too-long So SE reckon that " it's the biggest mistake they've ever made," for Sony n MS to extend this gen towards 10 years. I'm unsure if it's true or not, if these companies would have shifted, if other platforms would have risen regardless of the length of this gen. Though a compelling suggestion. You have got a few developers now rocking next-gen engines, obviously trying to give a big nudge for folks at MS n Sony to get a new console out the door.
  4. I was playing the mission against Maximillion and his tank, one Ethan seems to be having issue with, and my sister turned the console off. Whether on purpose or accident I'm unsure of, but it was sure annoying. So got that level to do again probably tonight.
  5. I haven't done it for ages. I made a proper mental effort to not do it. And then no one notices anyway

    Steam

Thing is, Valve can most likely swap a lot of that all around beforehand. Also it won't be Steamworks(which most of those games don't have) it'll be the CDR, which is how most folks find about about upcoming games n HumbleBundles n such. Which is why it's confusing FFVII PC is listed as SE exclusive when it popped up in Steams database other month.
  7. Contact them and say "take it down please"? That don't work I don't know next step cos I'm unsure of US organizations. (Since "go to a lawyer" is a bit OTT)
  8. So why you in this thread? Because this was where they were discussing the film. People did the same thing when we were discussing Prometheus. http://forum.pressxordie.com/topic/789-last-ok-movie-you-saw/page__st__160#entry86861

    LGBT

http://news.cnet.com/8301-17852_3-57468221-71/google-to-governments-legalize-gay-marriage/ So Google are now going to be pushing for global marriage quality, specifically focusing on places hostile to gay marriage(well, the ones Google operate in as best I can tell). Pretty big company, pretty wide range of people they touch, could maybe nudge the right minds.
  10. So why you in this thread? Anywho just watched "Children of Men". It was a film that caught my eye when it came out but I never ended up watching it. It was on TV after that "top number ones" thing so I stuck around. My main issue would be that there's quite a bit left unexplained. I don't care for it not explaining why women are infertile, that's fine to remain unexplained. I'm meaning like why they got suddenly attacked near the start and also why Brightwall went to war the day after they arrived. Other than that, pretty good.
  11. You win: A british victory in tennis. You lose: Damned Scots.

Really? Thats the go-to flippant line at the moment. Maybe it's just me, but I understand someone can be Scottish whilst still being British.

Sure, but only when they bring pride to the rest of the isle :P

  12. Not my personal woe (well to a degree I guess it was). Was over at my aunts yesterday. She collared me to help get he photos off her android to her laptop (I had shown her how using my netbook, but when she'd gone home to do it herself the drivers wouldn't auto download). It became a bit more of a job than just "get driver, copy images over". Turns out the laptop is pretty old, rocking Vista on a 30GB HDD. With just a few hundred megs free. I ended up running ccleaner and giving it the first clean it must have had in some years, gaining it 2GBs. I mentioned about her getting a external HDD, which she does reckon she has one somewhere, so that does help. It was her daughters so it has a bunch of assignment work n software on from her, which she's not removed as she's unsure what she can remove and not. Next time I've got more hands on with it I'll probably be seeing on clearing up a bit more space, deleting unneeded files and software.

    Apple

http://news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-57468103-37/apple-bows-out-of-program-for-environment-minded-products/ Apple are pulling out a environmentally friendly certification system (their current devices do suck a fair bit on the recycling front). Thing is, apparently many companies, unis n US gov't require'prefer to buy "EPEAT" certified gear. So could lead to a decrease in profits. maybe.
  14. Woops, forgot about that part. Right upgraded to Donator, just need you to PM a title you'd like.
  15. And due to combined efforts of Vecha n Fuki, Charmander takes the lead. BOOO!!!
  16. 1. My general recommendation for starting is FFX. The battle system is simple, the rock-paper-scissor mechanic easy to understand (it's orange, hit it with water, it's shelled hit it with Auron, it's fast hit it with Tidus, flying hit it with Wakka, so on), and it's recent enough that it doesn't look like total trash. It's also the game PCSX2 was made for (mainly cos FFX asks specific things from PS2 and its emulators, so if it runs other games will work too) so it runs pretty much perfect on it. 2. The numbers on EU store are the true numbers. It was US that had stuff like IV released as FFII, we didn't get FF until FFVII, by which points the numbering was all sorted out. (Which does mean people voting FFII might be voting FFIV) 3. If you're looking to pick up something in the EU FF PSN sale, I'd suggest IX. It's the better looking of the bunch (the last PSone FF, so had all their skill) and the story is all rather nice and it has a fair few references to the previous games of the series. ATB version is pretty much standard (but can be slow), levelling up is nice n simple (equip items, learn skills off them. Game limits what items you get as game progresses so there's little need/point to grinding). Oh and I like the game so I'm hugely biased. 4. As an aside FFXII is great if you're wanting a bit more modern take. The reaction to FFXII is pretty much what led to FFXIII. People didn't like the SP MMO type gameplay, the real time battles, the wide open areas etc. But I think it's a great one to progress too after "introduction" FF is played. Though it's also a good jump on from FFXIII. Fun to see the differences between X n earlier FFs, what FFXII changed up, and what FFXIII ended up as a compromise/response.
  17. We had whale n chips (this is my mums photo/portion though, hence skimp amount of chips)
  18. Yeah I'm not quite getting the delay on FFX HD since it seems to be a fairly trivial process. Plenty studios have managed to knock out multi-game HD collections, yet SE are struggling with one game? p.s FFX HD thread http://forum.pressxordie.com/topic/1508-final-fantasy-x-hd-remake/
  19. My Wildfire is nowhere near high end, wasn't when I got it and certainly isn't now
  20. Faiblesse, I've been looking through most of the android phones on the market for the past month or so. I could tell you the specs of a dozen phones with my eyes closed. I know the specs on the Advance, didn't need you repeating them . I'm well aware of the differences between the phones, and also that older high end stuff can beat out newer mid range. And I'm not changing tiers, not live I'm going from a Nexus to a Galaxy Y or something.

I've had a few run ins with them before, and the joy of em bringing around my phone on Monday.

  21. Red Faction: Armageddon Lacking the sort of sandbox/playground of Guerrilla kinda sucks. But weapons are pretty much all there n fun to play around with, though there does end up with a fair bit of reliance on the infinite ammo of the magnet gun. Oh there's a few stages that are a pain in the butt, mainly the "on rails" type segments. Though there's also bits that are kick ass, mainly the ones where you're in a mech suit/plane/walker n thus equipped with high health, n turrets n rocket launchers/death rays/stuff. Decent rental though I'm not sure I'd recommend a purchase beyond £5. Oh and it's a project $10 type game, so the "blow everything up n get high scores" mode is locked to "demo mode" (and maybe the MP, didn't check on that)
  22. It's more recent than the SII, only 6 months old. Any more recent and we're looking at the SIII, which is a fair bit out my price range I get it on Monday, gonna see how it plays. If not fine with the stock included* I'll throw it back Virgins way n grab a SII from either Carphone/Phones4U or Tesco. Which means either on Orange, O2 or T-Mobile, but all at same price. T-mobile SII at Tesco provides more data, so may pop through there. Clubcard points too I think. Main reason for sticking with Virgin is I get to keep my unlimited data and I know what their service is like. But hopping across means getting the SII, which is a decent phone, has ICS n custom rom support, and for about same price as current tariff, just with a bit less than I get atm (lose the unlimited data for one. I don't much care for texts n calls though) *since there's a fair chance the phone may end up without ICS or custom ROMs
  23. No in relation to AC3 things. I think the kid bit was picked upon because it seemed so stupid. And it was something much safer to pick up on that the implication that the brits were the only one waterboarding n doing home invasions. But you'd have to ask Thursday on that one, he's the one that picked upon the kid part. I'm focusing on the overall lack of AvT shown instead just focusing on "brits were dicks, and that's all you'll be killing" in the marketing.
