  1. www.ea.com/news/whats-coming-in-origin-90 Origin 9.0 incoming. With floating friensd list, resizable library icons and reworked menu. I think we can get a good idea of the feedback they've had the past year.

    Steam

    store.steampowered.com/app/22380/?snr=1_702_4_ Buy it!
  3. All my prices are in dollars (cos that's what comixology uses)

Gta3, final fantasy 3, need for speed, mass effect and assassins creed are already on android. As is Dungeon Defenders, it's downloading in background as I type. As is OnLive which expands the range considerably (oh and the app asks for a controller too, so there. ya go on that front). Given EAs active front on mobile games I imagine a battlefield game isn't far off, and there's probably a FIFA too that I've ignored. The rest should/could be simple enough to port. When I get to a pc I'll throw in a bunch of links.

PSA: don't bother with the Civilization Collection. Just get Civ V for quarter the packs price, that's likely all you'll play anyway. Oh and for folks who have a habit of buying me things on steam: I keep my wishlist fleshed out due to steam doing competitions. Quite often I don't wholly care for what's on there (especially as by now I own pretty much all the games I like on steam). Though it is ordered, you can click ndrag them (then hit "save") in order of preference.
  6. Sparked by P4's post in "games you bought", what good (and child friendly preferably) board game apps are there on Android?
  7. www.slashfilm.com/guardians-galaxy-thor-dark-world-captain-america-winter-soldier-titles-announced-marvel-comiccon-2012/ (Via Dan) @dan: heh, had a further look. $25 for volumes, $3.99 for current issues, and yeah $99 a pop for older issues. At least for walking dead. Rest are all over the place, some are $3 for even old copies, some are 99ยข throughout, some even more though I think their book length ones.
  8. You're doing the Steam Summer sale wrong Cowboy.
  9. Been reading Superman Red Son. I do like the what-ifs/Elseworlds (one of my first was KAL, when he's in medieval times). Also grabbed that Comixology (it was featured) and goddamn they are pricey. $3.99 a pop for a single copy of walking dead? That's near $400(first hit is free) for the full series to date. You can get a proper book for double the price of a single issue on there. No fucking wonder comics are struggling if stuff like Comixology represents their digital strategy
  10. Swear I've mentioned it before.
  11. My sister had it and I played her copy a fair bit, so had never had a huge reason to own it myself, but thought I may as well hop along. GOTY edition too so few extras here n there (I assume)
  12. Eleven hates me edit: Cheap enough that the DRM doesn't matter so much. I'd been looking at it since the E3 showing.
  13. Also Oh n Star Trek 2 is expected this weekend.
  14. I don't think I could do motion capture. Hate doing green screen as it is, never mind doing it in a leotard with bobbles all over myself.
  15. And they'll likely get cheaper faster too. Double bonus is established mature digital market means bigger devs might not dilly dally on spitting out new engines while waiting on next gen. Especially Epic with Unreal.

The controller is to have a touchscreen built in, though not quite like Wii U size I'd imagine. However I think you could potentially use another phone or tablet as a controller. Can already do as such for Windows over wi-fi.
  17. http://db.tt/B0HjOtFH For my sisters birthday. The other two died (illness maybe, not sure on second. Maybe died from the loss). So two female replacements; Eliza and Rapunzel. Only one bought by me mind.

Kickstarter is several years old already.
  19. blog.greenmangaming.com/2012/07/green-man-gaming-winter-sale/?utm_source=social Few deals on GMG.
  20. Welcome to the world of not being a nit picky bastard while grabbing stock photos off the web. In fact looking at the image that I assume you're talking of being GB it looks pretty much exact same as my phone does atm.

Yeah I've seen a few folks forget it's KickSTARTER (not KickAdvertising..) so of course the project we see now is going to be barebones. I think a part of the backlash is from "eww phone games", which is stupid given the reason people go "eww phone games" in the first place is a lack of buttons n controllers which this solve. Oh and even without something like this on the market to prompt it as I pointed out to duke yesterday there are a fair few android games with controller support already: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1542820 People also seem to be thinking it's meant to be wanting to take on PS3, 360 and their next-gen equivalents. The $99 launch price n smartphone guts should spell out the obvious there. Though it is aiming to take on the high price of entry both owning and developing for these consoles have.
  22. Got meself a Galaxy Note. I was going to post in here earlier, I apologise for the confusion in the Status post, but the image wasn't working just showing the "broken image" icon (I assume a bug in Android Chrome). It's pretty sweet. Few quirks here n there as part of Touchwiz I'll have to get used to for a while (until CM9/10 is stable on Note). My god is the screen fucking sweet. Few scaling quirks in a couple apps though. For example I use Reddit is Fun and the Action bar on it shows less buttons than it did on my 3" Wildfire. But other than that great. Currently copying across a film to test it out for that (wasn't really something I'd been able to do before). ICS is nice too. Oh a cool addition is that I gave it a boot up and it asked which network I was on, and the choices being T-mobile n Virgin. I'm on Virgin atm(got a couple days and it ends then I can PAC code my number across) so I'm currently on my old sim, while I had been thinking I'd be on my wildfire for a few extra days when out n about. So that was handy. Currently hopping between keyboards too (though a nice handy feature is when typing I get an option pop up in the shade to quickly swap keyboards. So atm I'm popping between Swiftkey when in portrait n Hacker Keyboard (a replica of a full PC keyboard) in landscape as n when the situation requires. Will be swapping between a few apps as I find once that play nice with ICS n the Note. Oh n here's the forum on the Note in Chrome: Chrome has a nice thing where if you tap on a spot that could be one of a couple of links it makes a pop-up magnified area so you can click the one you want. So it's perfectly usable this far zoomed out. I'll probably throw something up on my blog in the coming weeks.

Community colleges seem more like (in the attitude they're both spoken of with) seem closer to our ex-Polytechnics. "low end" universities, not as good as established like Oxford, Cambridge, Durham etc which would seem like your Ivy League(p.s what are those, I think there's another. Brown or something?), oh and cheaper too (living costs not uni costs cos as established they're limited by gov't. ) Actually: How is tuition dealt with at Oxbridge?
