  1. We'd have been fine had Ethan kept his english vs english stuff in the right thread.
  2. I've got a EVE Online voucher, 75% off. Stacks with the current sale. Though act fast, both are short lived. Makes the game £1.20-ish, which is not bad for a months play. (There is of course a trial too, so maybe give the trail a spin for a couple of days first)

But cracking it also means you can't play with your friends (unless you fuck about with stuff like tunggle). I'd like to be able to play collaboratively with friends, but I'm not going to be playing with friends all the time in the game. I like playing Civ V with friends, I'm still spending 90% of my time playing on my own. It's not a multie-player game like..say Tribes or WoW is. There's no need to have it always-on.

When it hits £5 that'll be when Sim City 6 is around the corner, in which case the servers will be turning off in a few months anyway. The always-on DRM is a bother, if your internet goes down, or EA's go down, you're fucked, you can't play a game. At least a fully local game the only thing getting in the way of playing a game is if my PC is completely bust and that hurts all games no matter what.
  5. Well it's an advert, it gets you talking about "that samsung advert" n poof, it has advertised. At least it actually showed off some of the functions unlike perfume adverts which have jack all to do with anything.
  6. I think the complaint is more than not everyone has the option of a controller, so they'd rather like it if m/kb was given some proper TLC in addition to the controller support. If you already have a controller then it's chill, though it would be nice to know that a game was properly ported to your platform of choice.

Yeah requiring always-on due to the multiplayer component is balls. Especially since they stated upon announce that the MP was mostly a nice addition, not the main focus of the game. As RPS have pointed out though it's still a long way from release so enough time for Maxis/EA to get the hint and remove the requirement. Come on, even Ubisoft learnt not to be this retarded.
  8. <3 projection mapping. And this looks pretty dang sweet.

    Sim City V

    Requires always-on net connection :/
  10. Well here's a chicken bake. Which the design on the top points out that the above image isn't a chicken pasty, so probably a cheese an onion.
  11. http://drawception.com/ - we've been playing this this morning in Steam chat. kinda fun time waster.
  12. Wait, she said series 3 was terrible? Is your friend Bizarro, cos series 3 is generally considered not only the best series' of Torchwood, but a pretty strong piece of TV all around. It was the shows swan song, it was up on the axe but Children of Earth was strong enough that the show got picked up for a fourth series. (albiet by an american studio, so it kinda changes flavour a little) And yeah I guess I'll be a bit more vigilant on the spoilers.
  13. No it's a pasty. Note that the Telegraph spelt it that way too. Pastry is sub-group of things you can bake. Like shortcrust pastry(for things like quiche and pies), choux pastry(for eclairs), puff pastry(for making pastys, oh n pumping full of cream, and pie lids), etc.
  14. Well I don't know. I haven't logged in for yonks. Just a friend I have that still visits mentioned it on FB this morning. The way he worded it made it sound like io9 has it, kotaku soon. Security falls to the other services sure, but all your other services details fall onto them. Waldorf can come back in here with is tale of woe with kotaku and the tying of FB to accounts if you want.
  15. Greggs pasty. (looks to be a chicken or a cheese n onion). I'm sure we've covered this before. But yeah, huge scandal. Hot n cold pasties are at different tax rates. This is why sometimes I look at the US Politics thread n go "you guys take this stuff way too seriously".
  16. As I said on twitter: The buns are red, green n blue. But it doesn't matter which one you eat cos they all taste the same.
  17. Don't remember these being linked yet. Via Santorum: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDGORiD82rQ Via Cain:
  18. Shit just got real.
  19. It's not really even a collectors bonus. None of the games I listed as "to get you started" are CE editions.
  20. I think soundtracks cost more because they're a fan product. And like all fan collectors items and such they know the fans will pay more, so they charge them more. Do I pirate soundtracks? Well as I answered Mason last week: http://dl.dropbox.co...Stuff/maybe.PNG I don't even listen to half of it Pretty much the FFIX/FFX and Black Mages stuff (and a couple FFIV songs n some of the compilations). It's simply a case of easy to grab it all than source together from individual lists. Nobody ever uploads just one album, nope whole discography. However it's worth noting that quite a few games throw in soundtracks too which is nice. Seriously, go digging in your PC game folders. I'll get you started: Steamapps/common/dragonage(whatever edition)/bonus/soundtrack/BOOM. Steamapps/common/rockofages/original soundtrack/BOOM Steamapps/common/Witcher/soundtracks/BOOM So yeah you don't really even need to pirate them, just copy them from the games files Go digging, there's all sorts in games folders. Wallpapers too. I know it's something GOG are kinda being all "look what we do!" but they're only making it more obvious. I think other games treat it as a treasure hunt.
  21. Well you posted about it a fair while after I did it, so I'm gonna say no. In fact the time you posted about it I was drinking a point at the pub.
  22. Hey now, don't take credit for what I did I ended up reading the spoilers too and I've not even played AC:R yet let alone the DLC. I do agree, probably an IRL retcon.
  23. Mainly the games that are low are ones I'm not too interested in, or are RPGs. 3D Dot Heroes is the later, but I'll nudge it up I guess. They're scrapping the "Low Priority" anyway. Also it just updated when I checked and...AC:R up next
  24. I got LoveFilm, I'm working on my console back log. (This image is a bit outdated now mind, guess I could update it...updated) Feel free to make suggestions. (Oh some of these are added pretty much because if you added 10 new rents to your list that month you got a free credit) Pretty much any console game I've beaten the last 4-5 months has been LoveFilm (i.e FFXIII-2, Uncharted 3, LA Noire)
