Stopped after chapter 2. Gonna now give DAII demo a whirl now it's fixed then Dino D-Day. So don't worry, it shall be acquired for cash at some point. It's an enjoyable game, looks to have decent replayability. I'll grab it in the summer pile.

I'm not saying "who doesn't have HL2" just who in the intervening 4 years since it's release, hasn't got Episode 2 by now if they have HL2 already. I'd imagine most got HL2 in OB, which nets you the two episodes as well anyway.

hah! wow. It looks like Deus Ex I acquired it this morning. Actually looks pretty damn nice, not had any errors up to now. But yeah I heard a few folks with PC issues.
-
They did say they hoped for the new site to replace the mobile site. ....for all the folks with phones larger than 10" inches running on a constant wi-fi connection.
-
Yeah, few of us are kind of curious on that. How many folks have HL2, but not Episode 2 (not really a question since yesterday I checked steam and 78 have HL2 n 68 have Episode 2 (out of 97)) You'd of thought if they were making one HL2 game for sale, they'd do them all. Doesn't make much sense to only do one. Not many folks to take advantage of that.

Just booted up the UK one, and yeah, it's latest news is "6.15PM" on the iPad 2. It's got Crecentes note as the next one when that should be a fair way down the page. Hah totally forgot I had APB turned off when going to the new site. DA2 picture for a Minecraft advert. Also very tasty image their Bash, front page a guy with half his head missing. I'm sure jsut the kind of thing I want to see after a bowl of rice krispies. Anyway checking the blog roll page, there's half a dozen pages missing. Seems they've killed it off. This is my image I grabbed yesterday Here is another readers. They did the math, including White space, the front page had 45% of it dedicated to showing adverts.

Wait...what?

Jon got it in one. The Utah Teapot. One of the first 3D models. Spread about because the guy who made it released the data set. And since in those days it was hard and modellers were lazy, it was easier to use his data than make their own. Also the geometry made/makes it handy for testing textures and lighting set-ups (it's self-shadowing, got curves, etc) so it's a pre-made object included in most 3D packages. Just thought I'd share this: "Illusion Mage" 3D software. Only $47 with free lifetime updates. A saving of nearly $7,500 over buying Maya Complete. http://computeranimations.org./ Here's the UI: Here's Blenders UI Here's another UI shot right from the Illusion Mage site: They're not really hiding it are they Heres Blenders word on it: http://www.blender.o...anding-blender/

Probably another 20-30 hrs. I like to be pretty thorough with these things. Also I don't tend to go on the most linear route. (and some of that is me idling with it alt-tabbed)

Check their site over the coming week. There's only 1000 keys so I guess entry requirements may be pretty stringent. http://www.dinodday.com/

Do folks want an event for this sometimes in the next week or so. Anyone know of any servers with semi-decent ping and mostly empty? If we know who is swinging by we can decide if a US or EU server would be best.

http://www.moddb.com/mods/dino-d-day A commercial release of this is coming end of March. A limited beta at the start. Mod is still free, I'm gonna check it out.

http://torrentfreak.com/crysis-2-leak-fails-to-result-in-massive-download-fest-110213/ It's pretty old, only recently come across it. I wonder if this article is what spurred EG's recent look back on the HL2 source code leak, since that gets a mention in this article with how it affected it diddly squat. 12million diddly squats in fact. Though they also comment leaks aren't a huge issue "unless they’re terrible games of course." I'm maybe a glass half empty guy on this situation but I wouldn't say folks aren't picking this up because they want to support Crytek n throw their weight behind the devs, but because the words "Developer build" are pretty scary and while folks may be up for cracking a game, they may not be comfortable that they'd know how to get a developer build working. Probably think it requires programming skills. (Though torrent freak do briefly touch on that possibility at the end)

Same here, only I'd rather not wait so long to get back into it. Would be great to finish the game while the first 20 hours are still fresh in memory. I'm hoping that playing Dead Money will make me want to keep on playing. For some reason, the part of the main story where I stopped just seemed more like work than fun... Well it's not really my choice on waiting. I was hoping to finish over Xmas cos now it's the run up to the end of year/uni. 100hr long RPG's are off the cards at the moment.
-
What was the system before that? Also I don't much care on the current stuff anyway since this is my final year in Uni, £3000~ all the way baby. Do find them a bit dickheadish to look on students to help bridge the economic woes. I guess being an Etonian Cameron thinks the £9000 fee is a bargain. Can pick up diplomas at a Poundland store.

You used * twice, but only had one at the end... Regarding current console piracy I guess we'll have to see what happens with the PS3. The 360 has piracy but it's not yet cracked, just a disc drive tweak (which it's amazing how no one wants to get "homebrew" on the 360 ever since they found the FW on the 360 could be flashed ). But the PS3 is cracked, and that means not only can disc games be pirated, but the DLC and DD games can be too. And since devs are banking on those I reckon they won't look too kindly on it then. Hear of it. We have a similar service called Lovefilm which my housemate has (As name suggests it's more like Netflix, but does do the games stuff on the side. Very little is recent mind) Thing is that's only for console games. Great and all but no good for benchmarking your rigs capabilities on a game, or see what kind of port it's like.
-
I didn't finish over Xmas and I feel I won't get back on it until summer now. Which hopefully by then most/all of the DLC will be out, and will hit the Steam Summer Sale.

Sindo is American. Unless you have a pretty heavily focused definition of "native English speaker" Also you guys should of learnt by now. You're wasting your time.

Maybe not the best thread for it, but expand on the Indian thing a bit. I'm well aware there's a lot of the VFX houses down south are Indian owned, but not much cared for wanting to know why. Now I'm curious.

But torrents are for pirates! Yeah I wish more would use the torrent network. Still they want that whole 1million thing, and numbers on torrents aren't too easy to track over direct downloads. Their bandwidth I guess. (srsly, 1million downloads at 1.8GB each is shy of 2,000TB of data. 1.7petabytes. Crazy amounts) I'm bobbing between 140-180kb/s. I can wait 3hrs.

Oh the 8 basic stories are: http://writing.wikin...plots/i_6c7bnp/ Though there's an alternative seven: Man vs. Man Man vs. Nature Man vs. Himself Man vs. God Man vs. Society Man caught in the Middle Man & Woman As for distribution I'm talking Netflix, day one release. It would rape cinemas, but I reckon they'd see a huge upswing revenue. If folks want the big screen, large sound, expensive popcorn experience, they go the cinema. They want it at home, they get it at home. I wouldn't say like a Netflix pass wouldn't include that cost. More liek a one off fee, like renting films as they are now. Just like £10, day one. Just they'd have to get over their hump on folks recording it. But folks do that in cinemas now, so not like it's an issue.
