  1. http://www.gamasutra...f_Minecraft.php Gamasutra interview with Notch on some Minecraft stuff.
  2. Yeah it's the same as ME2 now, you don't get to change NPC armour. Where do you think the ME2 comparisons are coming from
  3. I'll do that now I guess Wonder if they'll respond to the site that let loose their little secret Anywho, seems the PS3 version of Portal 2 is getting Move support, or at least they've developed it. I'm unsure if it's coming in the game on launch, in a patch, or at all. http://www.eurogamer...te-move-support This may push me to getting the PS3 version. edit: Sent to Doug Lombardi (since he's down as PR) A few of our readers and myself are wondering how exactly the free PC copy works with the PS3 version of the game. Some are wondering if there will be separate achievements (assuming Steamworks integration on PS3 version gets you Steam Achievements too). Others are also wondering about the implications with trade-ins and such. Some have suggested they might want to buy the PS3 version use the Steam code to get Portal 2 on their Steam account then either trade-in the PS3 game or give to a friend. Now Steam games can't be traded, but they wonder if you'd get the game taken off your Steam account if you did trade it in. Or maybe if the friend would need to use your PSN account to play the game, Steamworks functionality being stripped if they don't. They're also wondering if they got the PS3 version and passed on the code to a PC gaming friend, with the Steam and PSN account tied would it mean in future if they get Portal 3, HL3 etc on PS3 that offered a similar deal, would the Steam version only be able to go onto the friends account? And lastly from myself only (since I've only just seen the Move news pop up) would the Move support mean the PS3 may get the Razer Hydra levels, or do they remain exclusive to Razer?
  4. We're just experimenting and testing stuff. Do not be alarmed.

Ah I should maybe remove this now. Experimentation stage is over.

  5. Oh, I didn't look at the screenshots. Looks to be a pretty game. Also I'm guessing you can get hold of guns at some point, cos one of the screens has a police officer lumbering towards you, with a insane dude lunging onto your katana (A staple of all holiday resort gift baskets)
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXLLN58qqjg Trailers and such creeping out. tbh I'm looking at it for idTech5, not really into the game myself. It might be fun, but as far as I know it's a regular FPS just with a very pretty engine under the hood. Though I have heard that it's meant to be kinda open-worldy type. So I dunno. Maybe folks want to fill me in on that.
  7. Well it shouldn't be compared on anything since this is a pre-rendered trailer and Heavy Rain is a game Like comparing the SWTOR trailers to Crysis in the visuals dept.
  8. http://www.mcvuk.com...-Island-trailer Oh I also watched the trailer with some large expectations as Kenshi had gone on in Steam chat about how it had great facial work, better than Heavy Rain. I didn't go in expecting a pre-rendered trailer....
  9. Yeah I'm kinda confused on that one too.
  10. It doesn't have campaign co-op. But it has "anarchy mode". Which seems to be some kind of Horde mode/get the most points type of deal. No idea if it's local.

The URL is...not a lie. Not what I was expecting. And some cool photos too.

Yeah there's some pretty classy images on there. I like the Bill Murray with a tash one.

  11. Well when a browser loves another browser...
  12. Firefox 5 UI concepts: http://areweprettyyet.com/5/desktopApps/ http://www.conceivablytech.com/5673/products/firefox-4-in-march-a-first-look-at-firefox-5/ I think it's kind of like Windows 7 jumplists, so sites will have specific commands in the tab and not just "close tab/pin tab/duplicate tab/new tab" etc. Same way Win 7 programs don't just have maximize/minimize/move/close.
  13. I don't know where but I've seen the version with the feet in somewhere. And it's clear he's just like sat on his ass with his arms pointed out. Looks a bit silly. And while dramatic, that shot is way too dark.
  14. Yeah, more than a needle. Got all that paperwork to file. And prison inmates are used for slave labour, so they earn their keep too.
  15. Yeah, they don't take themselves too seriously, but when they do they're good. And definitely very focused on PC. Love the all games are equal mantra too.
  16. I see your PC gamer list and raise you PArt 3 of RPs list: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/02/16/the-very-important-list-of-pc-games-part-35/
  17. You live in Canada. No one at Kotaku has ever heard of international shipping, even when you're connected by a land border. I reckon when teleportation is around kotaku will still refuse to deal with any prize winners out of the US. Eurgh on the Scribblenauts thing. Especially when they purposefully tried to make Scribblenauts do more racist things like a black man as a slave and.. what the hell did they expect for WASP? I know the acronym, but it's going to get you a wasp. It was digging for controversy that wasn't there. If there is something up in the industry or wrong with the games, like I guess the West n Zampella case or Rockstar Wives stuff, then go after it, highlight it whatever. But if there's no issue, don't try to make it into one. Especially a kids game, it's going to hit a hard wall in stirring up crap. Most of the controversy at kotaku these days, and most games press to be fair, is with the publication not in the stories they write.
  18. I think I only used the guns at the sniping bit near the end and when you had to destroy the servers.

  20. See. Folks didn't believe me (I threw that up on the Amnesia thread last week)
  21. "There is a difference between constructive criticism and barging in to set editorial policy." would be owens response, and it was for when I was unstarred (oh and that was as a response to Cyber Rat) http://kotaku.com/#!...847675:23847675 edit: (oh though that came in a couple months after I was banned though, back when they brought in cornfield)

  23. no no no. He didn't use info on my FB account to ban me. Just quoting my reaction to the ban that I posted on facebook. As for the hate, dunno. I'd imagine it'd be to do with my well structured and sourced criticism of the site. And the fact a fair few folks replied agreeing, and adding to it all. I think up until that point he was just used to the "slow news day" "how is this game news" stuff. I wonder if their recent drop in traffic (alexa now pins it at 60% drop week on week), they might adapt and change a bit. Focus a bit more on gaming news. Or at least drop the gaming facade once n for all and let themselves go. edit: They didn't say it wasn't respectful, but yeah they did make a couple comments on the "telling us how to run the site" variety. Which it wasn't. Wasn't telling anyone anything, I'm not Denton, I'm in no position. Was just some friendly advice on how to reduce folks becoming disfranchised with the site will maintaining and increase the quality off the articles and coverage they produce.
