Why not use caster sugar? That way it's a bit finer and will dissolve easier than regular sugar. (technically icing sugar is even finer, but it's got a bit of anti-caking agent in so isn't as pure). Or depending on how you're making stuff you could get an absinthe spoon and get the sugar into your drink the same way you do with absinthe and pour it over a sugar cube.
  2. It's amusing, you've got all the exploits of Rogue One but this is pretty much the money shot. I like that Gareth Edwards has managed to kind of retcon himself into a film that's not much younger than he is Actually reminds me of a convo I'd had with siblings a few weeks ago (I had posted to twitter but can add more here). We're at a ..leisure complex(bowling alley, restaurants, cinema etc) and there's posters for upcoming films including "Paddington 2". Younger brother asks why there's another Paddington and I say the first must have done well enough to get a sequel. "What's a sequel". "Well it's a film that comes after the first one. You can have prequels too that come before the first one". "Like Monsters University?" "Yes". "What about Rogue One?" Anywho fun fact on the above: Peter Jackson is somewhere off to the side watching them film this shoot. (Gareth Edwards is a big Peter Jackson fan and heard his was in town. His people contacted Jacksons people to little response. On day of shooting this Gareth emailed Jackson directly "we're shooting Darth Vader scene"
  3. PS Access did a live stream of this. There's a weird sync issue of them speaking though. Also no story spoiler (they did similar with Horizon Zero Dawn and they were good there in doing stuff that's not related story but shows off mechanics n such).
  4. Yeah the Ancient One is very much along the lines of "practitioners of antiquity would call them spells, but you can call them programs that shape the source code of reality". Bear in mind that in our reality, in Earth-1218, we accept that about 80% of the universe is made up of shit we (currently) can't detect but we know is effecting loads of things. We also generally understand other dimensions to exist (though being along the lines of the "dark dimension" is quite unlikely). IMO quantum entanglement is pretty much magic but it's obviously a real and doable thing. Also worth noting the time stuff is through the Eye of Agamoto, which is shown to be the time gem. And the director has spoken on that being sort of on purpose so they don't have a comic book Eye of Agamoto that'll do everything and anything. We'll see more I guess with Thor Ragnarok given Hela is kind of a sorceress of sorts.
  5. On the LED strip front it's apparently much recommended to buy from Amazon as it's vastly cheaper there. I know there's a kind of type you can get where you buy it in lengths then cut as needed and cap it can cos of it being serial or whatever as long as you cut along the right bit it'll work as is and you just have some spare LED strip to plug in somewhere else. Your shelf otherwise doesn't much surprise
  6. Yeah there's one more. I hadn't picked up on being a Death Stranding reference but the icon for them makes much more sense (cos certainly doesn't look like a doll) and this engine is used for making Death Stranding. I had been a bit confused by them, but I don't follow Kojima enough to have gotten the reference.
  7. I found a use for the "hearts" border. Last mission spoilers. Also put my stuff in an Imgur album. Tried to order it so spoiler-ific stuff is nearer the bottom. http://imgur.com/a/43mwG
  8. Horizon Zero Dawn Yeah really enjoyed this game. Might aim to get my first platinum with this, I've got 74% of the trophies so far, I think the main ones next are to do the hunting trials and clear out the remaining corrupted areas.
  9. Firstly, I hate to break it to you but when magicians pull a rabbit out of a hat, it's not real. Secondly; Ultimately though I think you missed my main point that there's a shit ton of stuff that by most other considerations is "magical" it's just because some of it is done by a "sorcerer" it's more taken note of being "magical". The official line within the MCU with Thor, and reinforced in Doctor Strange too, is that "magic" isn't much of a thing. It's a bit of a nightmare for writing, it's why a lot of stories with magic in usually limit it (i.e "can't affect free will, can't bring back the dead").
  10. Check Full Metal Alchemists. The Elric brothers are taught their alchemy by an "ordinary housewife"(it's what she calls herself). Armstrong is shown as this big buff dude, who then is promtply torn down by his sister. Hawkeye is extremely competent soldier. And there's Winry who is a highly skilled mechanic, famed around the world(well the bit they're in) for her skills. Though I guess a big part about Izumis arc is that she's lost her womb trying to get her kid back. Envy is "sexy" but clearly shown as far more competent than many of the men and leads the homunculi for a while. But beyond the above it's just tres bien and still my top anime series. I guess Nina Tucker gets portrayed as a bitch for a bit of it.
  11. I wouldn't say the Oseram are any more advanced than the Carja. They're more adept at modifying machines, but their metal work seems quite crude compare to the likes what would be needed to build large elevators and such. Anywho for the rest: Okay spoilerville
  12. Vantage points have a purple floating eye marker over them. Also storywise, I'd kinda like to know why/how the Carja do seem significantly more advanced than the Nora and Banuk. My only guess would be they maybe started out with more people, which'd free folks up for development. Like it's cool the Carja are in that position, but I currently can't figure out how. Otherwise given what I'm to understand of the timeline, the Nora are pretty spot-on development-wise.
  13. Yeah, as noted in my other comment this game kinda sucks on the "decent rewards" thing. Be cooler if you had outfits, weapons, or like...Gold Modifications. I traded in all the vault items to the collectibles guy and I got the usual resource & modifications box that contained also a sock. Which was unique reward but it's also only there to be sold to merchants for 100 shards.
  14. I was originally going to put this into the TV thread then I noticed that it's "Original Film" pops up for a split second so I guess it's going here. And I'm wondering how they plan on fitting it all into a 2hr-ish movie. And as is common, and will lead to the usual articles on the matter, it's being made with western actors (pretty sure that's London Eye in there so might even be set in UK). Thing is if they made it with new characters in a new story they'd kinda gloss over a lot of those issues, it's established that other Shinigami drop their books down now n then. You'd have reason to be set in not-Japan and for why they're cramming in a 60 episode series into a two hour movie.
  15. My main issues on handinling the flowers was in most cases they're usually around some kind of hunting ground. But I find if you get close enough and scan around for the flower then do a mad dash you can be in and out. The Banuk stuff it's mainly an issue of finding that first foot hold, very similar to the Vantages.
  16. It's breaking news but a policeman has been stabbed and someone shot at Parliament and Westminster Bridge (they're next to each other). http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-39355940
  17. https://blog.eu.playstation.com/2017/03/22/big-savings-start-today-on-playstation-exclusives/ Pretty big sale of PS Exclusives on the PS Store. Though to note is this is the EU blog so may not apply to NA.
  18. The future is here. What I think is actually quite interesting from this (aside from the 3 years of engineering and development) is that even knowing that the dart board is actively helping you score a bullseye (which incidentally isn't the best place to go) people are still excited that they did.
  19. Honestly this is a great watch if mainly because due to its release on World Poetry Day it's in rhyme.
  20. "past that bit"? I'm just needing it for getting a Rattler pouch upgrade. I've not bothered with the lodge stuff, I guess I maybe should dive into them if you get weapons. They decent? It's one of my other bummers about the game is that all the quests just reward you with experience and one of the rando-pack of bits (and decent story and gameplay sure). Be nice to have more meaningful rewards from quests. I was one short for the ancient armour, broke down and googled their locations and turns out I've been feet away from one but didn't look up. So now to climb all the way back up the Faro building. Hooray! In other news: Faro is a giant jerk face. Someone ran the math and he's 4 years old atm so feel free to punch any 4 year olds called "Ted" in the face.
  21. I felt I did quite well here. Would have been cooler if I took out the Redeye as it shot at me, but only stunned it. I also had to do this all over again, though with less grace, because after hitting "Share" to save this I then fell off that ravine. Which I've a similar video on that I think I'll throw up here tomorrow. In story news I've been to the "cracked mountain" and been vastly expositioned to, gonna wait until I complete before I throw out all my thoughts on the story (loving it atm). I've a feeling I'm nearing the end. Also cos of the recent patch I've finally completed the "Robbing the Rich" quest Guerilla are pretty great with patches, they're obviously listening to a lot of community feedback (they've also implemented a "buy multiple" item which is kinda useful early on). Oh one thing is changing "item distribution" which I think means that it should be easier to get some of the bits you need for upgrades and purchases. Ever since I've needed a rat bone I've not come across a single rat. :/
