  1. This system has now been implemented. At least for myself. After there was already stuff out for several days, then I went away for a week and it was still there I gave ultimatum that I'd wash up the stuff but if it's something that belongs to me it goes in my room for no one else to use. Was considered fair. I don't think they've realised what I own. Originally was going to just go through the entire kitchen and move out all my stuff but tbh that'll be a total PITA. Though with the bits-at-a-time approach I feel ultimately the solution for those with cash but CBA to wash will just buy things new and the problem will persist. I'll need to eventually pack all my stuff soonish anyway so I may just go through in a couple weeks time if it doesn't get better and take all my things.
  2. Yeah I completed it last night. And when he's all "you should do errands" it's less the errands in your quest log and more along the lines of "have you put the kids to bed, cleaned the dishes, done your shopping, put the bins out?". It's a bit of a long segment. Great ending to the segment though.
  3. Sunfall, or I've done pretty much all the sidequests I care to now, so about to head on in.
  4. This is pretty cool. Geurilla have up cosplay guide for Rost (and Aloy is floating around too, but due to nature of posting these things on Twitter and not like on a site or anything it's a PITA to get hold of) https://twitter.com/Guerrilla/status/839180848452808704 Gamewise I'm at the point of Sylens being all "speak now or forever hold your peace" so currently wrapping up a a few sidequests (done all the collectables and cauldrons too, maybe a few corrupted zones and bandit camps left). Had an epic fight with a Thunderjaw. It's a small touch but I love that boulders and trees get smashed up by larger beasts.
  5. Yeah, was saying with Dan and Ethan earlier on twitter that with Bioware games you may as well wait for the GOTY cos otherwise you're paying through the arse for DLC. I remember with DA:O it was cheaper for me to buy the game all over again in a GOTY bundle than it was to buy the DLC. Like a big giant F-U to early buyers. And that was the era where they did "Bioware points" *spits*
  6. http://www.metacritic.com/company/bioware?filter-options=games&num_items=30&sort_options=metascore&page=1 If anyone fancies a gander here's their "teetering on the edge" games. ME2 their highest ranked. What's kinda odd is nearly all their DLC rates terribly, but not sure if that's a quirk of metacritic and the fact most people don't review DLC.
  7. Yeah with Doctor Strange they made a point of vastly curtailing his powers/artefacts and for the most part they are quite limited. The Eye of Agamoto in the comics can pretty much do anything you want it to, but here it's specifically shown to manipulate time and only time (given it's the Time gem n all). Most of the other powers largely manipulate dimensions (in a 4th dimension set, see Miegakure). So there's the doors to the other Sanctums (and similarly the windows to various areas around the world), as well as the whole "fucking things up in New York". I'd say that the cape is the only thing kind of "magical", and given one of the artefacts is "the rod of the living tribunal", I'd say they're not artefacts made by earthly sources (the Living Tribunal being a step down from god in the MCU). Worth noting this is a cinematic universe where it is openly acknowledged that a vibranium shield "doesn't obey the laws of physics", Hulk is pulling in mass from somewhere, and Tony has developed a near infinite power source. None of these are considered "magical". If he pulled a chicken out of a hat, then that's magic.

This'd be PS4, so Twitch is the main go to.

That'd be fine with me. Any other takers?

  9. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-39325561 Article 50 to be tirggered on 29th. All that's left now I guess if for the rest of the EU to go "no". (not that they can, that's sort of the point of Article 50). Will of the fecking people. Trumps an ass, but he's an ass for 4 years.
  10. Not their worst as of me writing this, it's still a point above Sonic Chronicles on Metacritic. (or a couple points if you play on console, seems PC sites are a bit less forgiving)
  11. Anyone watched Iron Fist? Is it any good? I never bothered with Luke Cage as it seemed fairly straightforward fist fighty stuff and this seems about the same. Daredevil has his secret identity and catholic guilt and Jessica Jones (which I've sorta started rewatching, and I'd say is the stronger of them so far) has the whole PTSD stuff going on.
  12. Yeah I'd say that ultimately it's 'magic' in a visual way, but mostly in a Arthur C Clarke kinda way (any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic). Kinda lines up with Thors stuff about them having what we'd consider magic and science as one and the same. We've already seen Ant-Man go to the "quantum realm" and he's not what you'd consider magical, was purely through a technological means. Anyway have you seen the trousers Bruce Banner wears? This universe has had magic a lot sooner than Doctor Strange was on the scene
  13. From the reviews it generally it seems it's a game that might have held up if it came out around ME3, but given modern expectations of RPGs, writing, gameplay etc it's a bit dull, tired and subpar. Witcher 3 set a bit of a high bar. Of course this game was knocked out by their B-team, so I can understand the feeling around "it feels like it's a game that was made because someone was "we're missing a Mass Effect in our current line-up".
  14. https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2017/03/the-cia-uses-board-games-to-train-officers-and-i-got-to-play-them/ Interesting read on the use of board games in the CIA.
  15. Well GOH will be happy, Maul is dead. Not sure it's something worth wrapping in a spoiler given the Obi-Wan vs Maul fight has been touted for a while now and well we know only one of them appears in A New Hope.
  16. Kubo and the Two Strings Wanted to watch this for a while, but meddling siblings. It's pretty damn good. Really love the animation, especially knowing it's stop motion animation. Only negative with it is that it is a bit cliched, what with power of love n other elements that are a bit obvious, but I guess for a kids film it's to be expected. It otherwise was quite grown up, and quite violent at times too. It's pretty as hell. Worth giving a watch, even if the ending falls a little bit flat. The bit near the start with the origami street art is certainly a delight (though I've also seen that bit over and over and over and over again so might be biased )
  17. New trailer, comes out end of the month.
  18. Moana Watched this with my siblings, a first time watch for all of us which at least gave me a moment to be "we're all watching it at the same time, I know as much as you". First time it seemed to sink in. Anywho for the film: I quite liked it in that it's not a usual Brothers Grimm tale so new for all of us. It does refrence the usual tropes of Disney films (arguing with Moai that she's a "chieftains daughter" not a "princess"). Moai was great, I think Dwane "The Rock"* Johnson is pretty good and I think he had a very fun time on this. I liked his living tattoos, quite cute characters of their own. One pleasant surprise for me was Jermain Clement giving a very Fart-esque song number. A rather colourful film with its own non-western myths and legends that works all quite well with a nice "twist" at the end. Also like how Moai, of legend, is portrayed as a sort of self-centred villain who stole the source of life, but in actuality was (at least to his own version of events) just trying to help out Man in all he did. I guess if you're a grown up not a film to watch on your tod, but a nice film to watch with kids. *"Can you smell what Moai is cooking?" *blank looks from younger siblings*
  19. Love that he's Lance Reddick. Such a great voice. And weirdly the only VA with an in-game likeness which is a bit odd (like quite a few of the VA, especially for like side-quest givers n such, are even race swapped). Exposition wise quite a lot of it is through audio logs of the soldiers, which I think are quite well done and written though yeah can be a lot (there's like a room with all the com terminals set up and like 10 audio logs in which is a bit much). I actually prefer them to the "Apocashitstorm" logs (though I do still like those). I'm guessing that "apocashitstorm" logs are Faro, though context suggests so but tone less so. Still I'm intrigued by the story. Oh one touch I'm liking, I'd sort of noticed it with the scrappers in the earlier areas, is the glinthawks repossessing destroyed machines. Had one battle with a trio of them and one of them just up and took off with the body of its downed brother (did make it slower and easier to shoot though). If they "process" like watchers n such you can see they get these green storage packs on their back too (though not downed one to see if that rewards extra loot). Kinda like that there's an ecosystem there.
  20. Yeah, had to or I'd lose all the way back to a much earlier save (had to pack up my PS4, so no "suspended application" faux-save to help me). It's also why I found out I wasn't meant to be that far since I could then progress to a ancient ruin and find the ledges don't go all the way (yet...at least I assume, might be that just a case of not being able to see them ) But on the plus side I've a required battle out the way and a camp fire near by to teleport to when that story mission inevitably crops up. (I'm about to crash the focus network, for a clue on how far along I am)
  21. Apparently the main shtick for that is it's all shot to a beat, but hard to push through a trailer, but seems to do well enough. Fun fact: The museum/mirrors bit in John Wick 2 is set to a percussion-less version of Vivaldi's Four Seasons, with the percussion the gun shots (which means it was choreographed and edited to a fine degree) This seems to be causing a stir: Reminds a bit John Wick style actually but a female lead. Shame it goes with the "slow music" trope. And I guess "queen tunes" trope. And totally failing for a film called "Atomic Blonde" having Atomic by Blondie as the track, like WTF. And on a friendlier note a Pixar teaser
  22. http://www.androidpolice.com/2017/03/16/hands-googles-family-link-surprisingly-polished-experience/ Seems pretty cool for family members. I know that for most parents I know that controlling the kids and what they're doing on their phone is not exactly a practicality. I like that this forces the kids to ask for permissions to install apps from the parents in a fairly seemless fashion too. Though I do agree that locking out Youtube seems a weird, YT kids is a little bit toooo kid friendly imo (though once again with grown up YT you get a lot of stuff kids shouldn't really watch such as minecraft lets plays with anti-semites). Only super big issue is it's Nougat phones only, which most kids I know get hand-me-down phones so gonna be a few versions behind.
  23. I went exploring the other day and found a place I think I'm not meant to be at for a fair while (I had a cutscene forced combat with a Stormbird and got to a point where it stops providing hand holds). As far as hand holds go, definitely my biggest gripe with the game. And yeah other folks having similar issue, seems that it's pretty bad for colour blind folk since while the yellow can be identified the little pigeon shit ledges blend into nothingness against snowy mountains or orange columns. Also my fave shot so far: couple more: https://twitter.com/deanbmmv/status/839558087195430915
  24. I need to learn not to visit people and buy things cos then I'm having to figure how to rejig suitcase for the return home. From charity shops I got: - hardback War of the Worlds. A nice cover, sort of the old fashioned leatherbound style (though with the Jeff Waynes cover) - Hardback "Thief of Time", one of my fave Discworld books. - Batman Begins and Dark Knight Blu-Ray/DVD/Ultra-Violet New - 5-port USB charger with a QC3.0 charger for £7 from Aldi. Been wanting a spare QC charger and this was significantly cheaper than I'd seen on Amazon (though isn't a "known brand")
