https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/45708/7_The-Road-Ahead Officially canning stats, items, etc for Destiny 2. All that'll carry over is your personalisation on your Guardian (assuming they're over lvl 20 and completed Black Garden)

The shading style helps for a lot. The Wii U has loads of aliasing, especially around smaller objects. Seems they've focused a chunk on making sure Link himself looks great in both versions, which I think is fine way to do it. (though it maybe says less about the Wii U "holding up" than it does about the Switch being not much better)

Yeah looks like it'll be pretty decent on PC, though tbh I doubt I'll double dip. Also it's a rude to be all "hey, you can drive off road" given it is a lot more limited in that regard. Wonder if the PC version will have any of the like physicsy improvements they've shown off. Also given the amount invested in the engine I can see why they're pretty much making FFVII a reskin of FFXV(even if I don't really agree with that approach). In other news Kingstale is also free for all on Xbone n PS4.

Oh fuck. I opened them up back to front, damage already looked in the "oh fuck" levels, but then seeing the humans for scale against the main spillway and it's "oh....that's...not good at all".

You know what's super fun, loads of adults then proceeded to stick the carts in their mouths then be like "yup it doesn't taste nice".

Yeah if anyone wants to add me my friend code is: J3SU-SN1NT-D01TS-2OI7

Looks kinda cool, though I imagine some of the practicalities would be less cool. I know a big issue with "touch projectors", there was a keyboard that did similar some years ago, is that a keyboard has springs or rubber mesh in it, your hardwood table less so, and kinda fucks your fingers after a while. So no go on the piano app for long sessions. Also as with most projectors you want ideal lighting conditions, a sunny day is going to make it less effective. However the high price point does help push it out the realm of average consumer and lets the first users get out most of the issues. I think overall it can be a decent idea, especially for the "making a large tablet" thing. Though for much of the applications your average TV these days is a Smart TV, and stuff like cooking it's not that hard to us a tablet for recipes. It'd be awesome with projection mapping though, go qausi-iron man style and let you project an interface onto objects.

So I posted this earlier to Twitter where it was promptly garbled to hell so uploaded to Youtube. Just love how it all moves.

Yeah, from the above video he was pretty cautious, with many complaining it made for "boring viewing" in the chat. He'd noted he hadn't died in 20hrs of gameplay so far. However he met his first death when taking on a thunderjaw(?) as one of his challenges, though did okay against a...oh yeah it's in the title of the video...a stormbird. I'm only early in, picked the game up this morning, ran the install and currently in the prologue. Young Aloy is cute, though I feel her head is too big. Liking a lot of the intrigue already set up. Totally gonna go back to the cave area when I can. Done all my things for the day so going to be diving in for the rest of the evening. The long grass moves soooo prettily.

I too picked this up. I've shitty willpower atm.

PS Access stream I'm only 7 minutes in as of posting this, and the...weapon right near the start is pretty cool. Also turns out it came out today and not on Friday as I thought (turns out they had brought the release forward). I'm struggling not to head into town to pick it up. edit: looks like one of those games to tickle my "let's go exploring".

So now n then I like to get donner kebab and chips if I'm having an off day and cba. Today is one of those days. Now many moons ago a nice takeaway opened just around the corner and there stuff is godly, helped by the fact their naans are freshly made in front of you. However today they were absolutely chocka so I went to an old haunt, which I've usually avoided cos their donner kebab and chips is all over the place. Not just in quality but in how the dish it up. Usually they'll do a box for the donner meat and a box for the chips and it's up to the day of the week of the sauce is poured on on comes in a tub (which is preferred), but sometimes they'll throw both into one box (which'll usually mean less of both), and sometimes they'll forget to do the chips (which is annoying, it's like a "comes with chips or salad" thing, but if you forget to add it then they stupidly assume it's standalone but'll charge you as if it's with chips). Anyway todays "how they gonna serve it", it came in a tortilla wrap with chips. Like...why?!? total PITA (badumtish) to eat that way too. So yeah, this story explains why one takeaway had 10 people crammed in and one had me there on my tod with three tables n chairs set up with some form of optimisim.

AFAIK pretty much a thing at this point. Heavily heavily delayed and not spoken of anymore at the very least. Scalebound definitely canned. I know it's a big thing of late, especially with PS4 recently getting HZD that the Xbone is sorely lacking in big hitter exclusives atm so it's been a bit of a topic of all the previously announced games not really materialising.
-
But you're also competing with everything else. Though I think the recent trend of Feb/March games is a good time with an E3 announce.

@GOH: I'd feel having a wired USB pad would sort of negate the bluetooth nature of Mister Jacks issue, he could just plug it in with a wire (Which is what I normally do). @MJ: Not super sure on that one. I'll be honest I've only had a bluetooth dongle for a few weeks (see above) and my main beef so far is that cos my PC and PS4 are pretty much next to each other, it'll turn me PS4 on if I try and sync with my PC. So yeah I find it easier to plug in first, then have it go over bluetooth. I do get a few lag warnings now n then (though that's through DS4Windows since you can set that to flash red if you get controller lag, not sure Steam supports that. Likely not given there's no universal controller settings screen. At best it seems you can only change the lightbar colour).

Given Nintendos excellent track record, why is "I'll get BotW digitally" even something entering peoples minds? I get they're slightly improving their "whoops your console is dead all your games are gone" policy with the Switch but like daaamn I'd still avoid them like the plague.

More games being announced and launched within a 6 month or so period. Fallout 4 wasn't a great game but its marketing was pretty well done and not overly protracted. Especially in the face of Square (who are terrible of late at the "announce a game that's not due for another 10 years") and Last Guardian. Shadow of War looks to be going down a similar route, and I'd guess the new AC game too (which isn't announced yet, but likely due for launch in November...which atm is 7 months away). Though obviously don't do a Nintendo and have loads of info still due to come out *looks at watch* a few dozen hours before launch. There is a period that's too short I guess it's getting easier now with more publishers not using E3 as a big announce event (which due to time you can't really announce anything that's due for the Oct/Nov release cycle as that is a bit short, so you'd have to announce more than 12 months ahead). Instead you've got likes of Bethesda with quakecon, Nintendo with their Directs. Square started doing "directs" too (though err..as noted they're pretty shit at this still love you square but srsly), and stuff like PAX and Gamescon also used as announce events, and PAX has (afaik) three events a year which helps spread things around.

Yeah been recommending Arrival to geek club as a pretty decent "hard" sci-fi film. Anywho it's 1:40AM and I just got in from a late night preview showing of Logan. (edit: And then got kinda tired and so used bullet points to expand later then went to bed) So it's good. Not I think, great, but it's good and solid and it's certainly a Wolverine film. Also it's a 15 rating over here, not an 18 so there's that. Pretty much all my thoughts I guess I should wrap up in spoilers. But for none spoilerness: - There's no stinger so don't hang around after the "Logan" title appears. - I think an adaption that included more of the not-fox-licenses characters from the comic it would have been significantly worse (world is not ready for incestuous Mark Ruffalo) - the inclusion of an in-universe x-men comic is pretty great. - Patrick Stewart is fucking amazing in this. He's the doddery old grandad that's succumbing to alzhiemers that's both endearing and sad. So onwards to spoilerville (and there's some that aren't so obvious from the trailers so don't peak) Anyway, it's pretty damn solid and far superior to Apocalypse. Not quite worthy of beating X-2 but it's up there. Heck I'd say it's worth going to see some of Patrick Stewart. And obligatory (if you've been under a rock the last week) Longest interview ever (love that Mcavoy and Stewart sit the same way too)

Ethans post from September is literally the last post on Xbox prior to mine. I guess "game announced at launch gets cancelled" isn't much worth posting about. I was kinda excited for a bit more Crackdown but that was announced like...2-3 years ago? I kinda like the newer "announce a game like 5 months before launch" we got with Fallout 4 and now Mordor. in fact...

I guess they're Church of Universal Truth? (one of the main baddies in the new comic release of GotG. They're connected with Magus too, which is the bad version of Adam Warlock...which the lass in gold is his sort of "sister"). Also damn it's gonna be pretty. Weird trailer editing for the "except her" bit though.

If you guys get a cut don't you stick on a Band-Aidtm? I think we're allowed our Hoovertm. IIRC the French for tissue is Kleenextm. And of course herointm instead of diamorphine. Oh and para-acetylaminophenol known as paracetamol over here and acetminophen over there. Both names derived from different parts of the chemical name. Anywho Wiki has a decent list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_generic_and_genericized_trademarks Both US and UK have trademark terms for adhesive tape but ours is sellotape and yours is scotch tape. Though we also call it "sticky tape" too. Huh, also looking at that list in Brazil it's "Durex" (which'd be condoms over here not sticky tape).

I remember reading about this an age ago.

http://news.xbox.com/2017/02/28/introducing-xbox-game-pass/ MS doing a Netflix style gaming subscription. I doubt you'll see any recent releases on there, sort of a more extended version of their Games With Gold I'd guess.

I've not played the game, but someone on twitter suggested Mafia III would have done well with it. And yeah, folks are like "but it takes a while to develop a game", and yeah 3 years later these are on their second and everyone else is nowhere to be seen with anything similar. Like...what about say Ghost Recon Wildlands maybe having it?
