It does look pretty damn nice. Also vast majority of the gameplay, though it is early on here, it does come across as pretty much "Far Cry Primal: Robots" . There's towers to climb to show off map, there's hunting and gathering, and all rather foilage-ey.

What needs to make sure is that they don't like, as exampled in the above, bring out a ban and then pull back on a small element of it to make it seem like they're backing down when 95% of what they put in place is still there. And yeah I imagine part of it is to tire folks out. It sorta worked in his campaign, just had so much crazy shit, so much stuff that needed fact checking that folks kinda gave up trying to dispute it all. In US-UK news our Foreign Minister has stated UK passport holders can visit US, which I didn't entirely know was a potential issue. We weren't listed on the banned list afaik. Also nationwide protests/support going on too, been one in our city centre and twitter feed has a fair few showing, some pretty decent sized ones. Also I guess best sign:

On one hand the "muslim ban" by Trump is pretty fucking shitty (and questionable given the countries that are and aren't included and some of the interesting Trump related coincidences that pop up..) but on the other hand quite heart warming to see the response to it. Picked up a suitcase since it's a thing that I've increasingly needed over the past year. Was on sale too. Also a headlamp cos fiddling with models is a bit of a pain as my desk since the big light position means my body blocks most light on my desk, and bluetooth adaptor to use with DS4.

Dishonored 2 Did a mostly non-lethal (except I guess for the last mission where I was like "fuck it I hate witches and this isn't gonna have much long lasting impact") Emily run. Started a pretty lethal Corvo run right after (and jesus Corvo loves it, all "die traitor" this and "deserves worse" that). Just done the opening mission. big reason for a second play through is just see how the narrative changes both with Corvo and if doing a lethal run. Really enjoyable. The mansion was great, especially after I massively changed history rather than the minor bits like turning on a water pump in the past. Kinda felt a couple of emilys powers kinda sucked, though part of it is just not using some so much mainly cos it's super fiddly to swap between powers at times given you can only map 4 to the d-pad and one of them is usually going to be a weapon of sorts too. Her blink ability at times fucked me over, as it doesn't "teleport" you as such, it throws you, thus you maintain momentum which sometimes flings you off a ledge right into a group of guards. Hooray for quick save/load. Another thing they resolved from the first was that the non-lethal solutions for most of the targets usually were much crueller than if they were just killed. (holy crap I just realised they could have had the Pembletons pop up during the Dust District stuff...maybe they did and I didn't notice). Some are still sort of bad, such as essentially lobotomising Jindosh, but other non-lethals mean curing people or having them live out their fantasies. Realised my dislike for the witches is about as much as Dauds lot and hey they're about the same purpose really. My first meeting with them should go much smoother though now I know how to..take them out the equation. But yeah all pretty good and helps put Prey into my sphere of "wouldn't mind giving this is a shot". Hoping for more Dishonored probably I imagine in Morley or Tyvia given they're the two other big cities (and iirc Sokalov has gone to one of them and both have big jewels on them in the Dunwall tower continent map). I wonder what the new rats/bloodflies will be. Actually the bloodflies were much less grotesque than shown in the initial trailers. Mainly only ever see them in the honeycomb nests, rather than out of people Oh and trying to find that image, the clockwork soldier design has also changed, so now the head is more bird like rather than the initial half-mask design, though you still see the original design in the displays in the clockwork mansion. But yeah, tres bien.

Yeah this is something that annoys me about online discourse around US elections, when you're kinda shut down because you're not from the US, despite the fact the US affects everywhere. I mean, our little tiny island nation brought down the global markets over a single vote. US dollar impact nearly every conversion rate, if US starts reversing on climate change that impacts the globe, if trump decides that North Korea needs dealing with in a more permanent fashion then it's Europe that houses a chunk of the nukes. Oh god and the "you've not lived through fascism how can you not it and the impact". Europe had a good old argument on the pros and cons of fascism and tens of millions of dead people, countless destroyed towns and cities, and we decided it was a bad thing. Because we like to not repeat ourselves it gets covered a fair bit (including US role in the rise of Hitler & Mussolini through instigating the great depression and protectionism/isolationism which Trump seems to want to start off again with reduced immigration, pulling out of UN and such). You can put lipstick on a pig and call it alt-right but it's fascism at the end of the day. Yes Trump isn't Hitler, for one Hitler was much more charismatic and intelligent, but he's still taking many of the same steps that Hitler and the Nazis took in rise to power knowingly or not. Woe be the day Republicans and the "alt-right" get an actually charismatic candidate.

What we would call a "Mexican Wave" you guys apparently just call "the wave". Apparently this is because while it originated in the US and not Mexico the first time it kinda hit big outside of US was when broadcast from the FIFA World Cup...in Mexico.

Birdman The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance This has been on my list for an age. It's quite what it seems from the outside, a film that critiques the career of a post-comic book film star brilliantly casted as Micheal Keaton. The cinematography is amazing, and watching the "one shot" of it is magical and entrancing. I get the feeling if I was more into the material adapted for the play-within-a-film I'd get a lot more depth from it though the play dialogue gives you hints of its ties with the main characters inner struggles and demons. Can see why it did so well at the Oscars. Edward Norton also pretty good casting too given the Hulk stuff and the out-of-film meta on that. (Emma Stone also an ex-comic film acress too, and heck probably a few others there if I was to look).

Could be interesting, not that the trailer gives much away. Film is a "romantic sci-fi". Also people start killing themselves to get to the afterlife.
