  1. I like the fact if you're writing AI software to write AI software you must surely know your future job prospects are a bit fucked Also I guess it depends on the kind of "AI". Like I guess joe bloggs on the street AI is like Skynet, Data, etc. But to businesses and such it's more along the lines of Watson. So not really artificial sentient life but more an intelligence that can sift through shit tons of data. They're more akin to video game AI than sci-fi AI.
  2. Young Han Solo as a concept is kinda "meh". Young Han Solo as a film with the current IMDB listing however is quite oooh. edit: Directors: Lord & Miller (of Lego Movie, Jump Street, Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs) Writer: Jon & Lawrence Kasdan (of the good Star Wars films) Alden Ehrenreich as Solo Woody Harrelson as his mentor Donald Glover as Lando Emelia Clarke as something.
  3. In red! http://www.starwars.com/news/the-official-title-for-star-wars-episode-viii-revealed But yeah, seems to be going with the themes from the shows that it isn't literally just Sith and Jedi (as of RotJ the Sith are officially ended).
  4. For context: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-38714047 Best remark I saw on it was: "Corbyn is right to question the effectiveness of Trident. It's no good if you expect something to go left then it suddenly veers to the right and crashes".
  5. Recently released deleted scene from the Mortis arc with Revan and Bane shown as influencing The Son. Lucas vetoed it though since in his mind only those from the light side can live after death. Though we are shown here that Qui Gin Jon can appear due to Mortis very strong force connection so could possibly suggest that's what's at play. Though personally I think it kinda works better that The Son is working on his own, since he represents the dark side. Be weird to have it that he's pushing Anakin toward becoming Vader at the behest of Bane and Revans force ghosts.
  6. Hey this is the US Politics thread, not the UK politics thread! BAN HIM! BAN HIM!
  7. Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2 Figured I'd wait until I'd seen both before posting. I have seen fragments of this before (I guess it's hard not to have) so not a totally new film for me. It's pretty much a Tarantino film, so if you're into those then it has that going for it. Not sure what to say that hasn't likely already been said.
  8. Yeah, figured might have been the case. Not super sure if they guy was dead or not, I had like 3 guys on my all of a sudden and ended up jumping through time as the guy got choked. I'm not aiming specifically for a no-kill run, so it's not like it's ruined my streak and I need to do it all again kind of thing. Just things had sort of headed that way. Was rather pleased when I ended a mission with zilch keys, just marginally bummed this one led to a marignally lethal run. Other levels I'd had a nasty habit of if I got surprised I'd end up lashing out with my sword and decapitating the person in front of me. Also wolf hounds don't count in the no-kill btw. I killed all of those cos fuck trying to sneak up on them or wasting sleep darts on them.
  9. Well if we look at the alternative facts presented from the WH press office you'll find there was actually 20million people at the inauguration and only about 12 people at the womens march but photoshopped over and over by the dishonest media. No questions please.
  10. Yeah while it's unlikely it'll be a major use of the app, it's sort of a glaring omission given most screens now have a netflix app next to their port of Doom. Also they only have like 4 launch titles so "focusing on games" is a bit of a shitty excuse. If they'd put in Netflix would they only have 2? Heck, I'm amazed they've not suggested using your smartphone to watch Swtich Netflix through
  11. Day 2 of the Trump administration. "Nazis" is trending on twitter.
  12. I'm currently playing Dishonored 2. Mostly a non-lethal run (kind of annoyed that my last mission I apparently killed someone and I'm not sure who. I've a feeling it might be from sorta using a guy I was choking as a human shield but that shouldn't count against me surely?) Playing as Emily, I'd ummed n arred over being Corvo again, continue from the first but figured I may as well explore the new tricks it has. Not super keen on Emilys blink compared to Corvos as it can be a bit fidgety to line up (and also as it has some acceleration to it you can end up flung off whatever it was you were trying to land on which gets you in hot water). In fact for the most part I've been almost power free, nowhere near as creative as I could be but mainly cos it's a total PITA to swap between more than two powers at a time. Just done the Mansion mission, and it was pretty damn great and hats off to the level designers for getting (at least, could be more) three levels out of the one location. I imagine if you had a no-powers run you wouldn't noticed much different. I guess a no-powers run you still get the heart and visits from the Outsider given they're quite required of the plot. In fact he's around a lot more than he was in the first iirc. My one big beef with it is the sound mixing is terrible. It specifically asks if you're on headphones, which I am, and still is really bad. Like some sounds end up way too loud for how close they are, and the directionality of noises is shite too. I can enable the "see through walls vision" and find that people who the sound would have you think are stood next to me are in fact miles away on a different floor. Also when choking someone it for some reason really amps up the sounds of feet, but it's your feet meaning anyone that was to surprise you you'd never hear over the sounds of your own feet for some reason. It's like all the SFX sounds are flat, rather than spacial which in a stealth game is really bad. It'd be bad in an FPS but at least those usually give you visual indicators of where bullets are coming from. There's no "radar" like other stealth titles either, so yeah. Bit of an issue.
  13. A bunch of pixeleation on the textures belies it being "HD", mainly scales well cos loads of Nintendo games just use a single colour rather than much in the way of "textures". But yeah kinda embarrassing the screen quality of the 3DS.
  14. So seems an interesting premise, something that I'm to understand that the Japanese Godzilla kinda covered a while back, though not in such a comical sense. Also it's weird that "big monsters" are in.

  16. Narrativia have announced that they'll be doing a Good Omens TV show to air on BBC and Amazon Prime. http://discworld.com/narrativia-announce-first-major-television-co-production-bbc-studios-neil-gaimans-blank-corporation/ I am both somewhat excited, but also slightly wary since so far nothing has actually panned out of announcements from Narrativia. (there was meant to be a City Watch TV series too, and pretty sure an animated Mort film also announced). In other TV news I've (as noted elsewhere) started binging on 30 Rock, a decent short TV show to wedge into my day. I've also started on The Expanse (which might go in my reading list too, heard the books are decent), so far so good.
  17. I guess they took on some criticism of the first and decided to include a few riffs from the original. Also first look of Cranston as Zordon, Bill Hader as Alpha, and the Megazord.
  18. New, and if Patrick Stewart is to be believed (I hear he's talking a lot of shit these days...or he's a talking shit...somehting like that) this is also the last. Which I guess shows a fair chunk of confidence in Wolverine. Which I guess is doable at this point, he has been Wolverine for like 17 years. (red band) Oh there was also another trailerfor Legion, though mostly the same as the first.
  19. You respect everyone you're friendly with (and you're friendly with everyone you respect)?
  20. No, entrance to a subway. hey found a video (I guess I should add this is more targeted at GOH and other NYC based members, I understand it's most likely specific to there, same with London being an outlier with armed police on regular patrol....though turns out Newcastle recently added to that list :/)
  21. Watched Obamas final presidential speech on BBC while NHS literally bled me dry yesterday. I guess it was decent having an 8 year run of an articulate president. I was a bit too young for Bill Clinton so not much clue on his vocabulistics and grammaticals, but he seems he'd be kinda decent. I wonder if it's a Republican thing. Dang if he was any classier there'd be a mass shooting in him. (I'm not classy ) Still, a Trump is for at most 8 years (unless he does that whole "emergency powers" thing...), but Brexit's for life. Of course he might not even last to the end of the year. Wonder if he'll quit, be forced out by Republicans, impeached, or assassinated(a shockingly high occurrence for US presidents).
  22. Binging 30 Rock at the moment. There's a scene where they're about to take the subway and get stopped by heavily armed policemen and go through her purse, the gag is more on the content of her purse than being stopped by rifle wielding policemen. So is that normal, or did part of the gag not land with me?
  23. Picked up the $1 tier Humble Bundle. Mainly for Evoland but the Victor Vran seems kinda neat.
  24. Yeah, kinda struggling to articulate, but there feels a fair tonal shift between the early stuff with the stealthy going through bushes, attacking raptor things, climbing the giraffes and such as part of a sort of nomadic tribe, and the newer stuff that yeah seems a bit more mad max-ey (for lack of a better comparison). It's not hugely off putting, but knocks it down the rung a bit for a "wait and see".
