  1. http://xboxlive.ign.com/articles/121/1219976p1.html So thought I'd put this in here rather than in its own Xbox thread for now. The XBLA version has 4 player splitscreen and supports up to 8 players online. Hmm. Sounds very nice, I don't see it being added to the PC release.
  2. Eh, I'll space them out, don't worry
  3. My local HMV is cheaper most of the time then Game or Gamestop. All depends really, its mostly just a few euros cheaper for newly released titles. For example new 3DS titles are normally €45 in Gamestop, in HMV they are normally €40.
  4. Sounds pretty stunning, now I have to start Assassins Creed 2 on PC, install and then finish Brotherhood which I got for cheap on PC, and then buy and finish Revelations. All in a days work what else extra is there to read or play?
  5. We have a few rare Game shops in Ireland, but they are all over the place in the UK. Everything is high priced, even pre-owned titles, I can understand why they are going down seeing as stores like HMV are nearly always cheaper and offer a wider range of games.
  6. Nope, no pointer or motion controls, although it controls fine with the Wiimote and Nunchuk, I'd go for the classic controller as it has easier access to all the buttons, as you would be using 1 & 2 on the Wiimote in the game as well.
  7. The more curved back is awesome....ah yes, the proper thumbsticks are a great change, the thumbpads aren't really sensitive enough so this is good news. The pictures seem to go from right to left. $300 I'm presuming is around €300. All depends on what it launches with and what you get with the console. After the 3DS they learned a lesson in launching with proper new software and an actual competitive price point.
  8. That's not exactly true. Monster Hunter Tri is the best selling Monster Hunter released in the West. There are quite a lot of third party titles that have done well, I mean how did No More Heroes actually do on PS3 and 360? Also how well did Lost Odyssey do? Its not as if that lit up the sale charts. With Nintendo's backing behind it (this was a Nintendo published game and they collaborated with Mistwalker on the development) it'll be at least moderately successful in the West, and it did great in Japan. In fact, its not even a third party title. NMH on the PS3 was a port, it wasnt even a very good one. Ports hardly ever do that well unless theyre old "classics" from a previous generation. NMH on the Wii was not a classic. Truth is, NMH was never going to be a huge success no matter on what platform. As for Lost Odyssey, That shit came out a really long time ago(2008?) when jrpgs were very few and very shitty on new consoles. At that time, MS was buying up the exclusive rights to every and any jrpg it could get its grubby hands on so the Japanese would like the 360. That shit failed big time. Something like Lost Odyssey now in 2012 on the PS3/360 would be a huge success. Things have changed a lot in the last 3 years. Despite how much people may love it, the Wii is on it's way out and has been in a decline for the last year. Some would say longer than that. The PS3/360 are still pretty alive and I think a lot of it's fans have a craving for a Sakaguchi game(no matter how overrated I think he is.) How have things changed a lot in 3 years? I mean sure there's more 360s out there and in more JRPG fans hands, but still the game didn't do well. In fact saying that there were less quality JRPGs could have only been a good thing for Lost Odyssey as it should have stood out. These days it would likely be buried even harder then it was.

  10. Tch, UMDs are sooo 2005. Its all flash memory now, get with the times Jesus.

    2. WTF

      WTF

Firstly ordered via Zavvi it was 4p cheaper and it arrived today on free delivery (dispatched wednesday XD). Secondly I'm not sure about Ireland but generally Amazon UK takes 2 days for supersaver to deliver to London so you might get it Saturday.

    3. WTF

      WTF

Thirdly dispatch or despatch technically means 'Send off to a destination or for a purpose' and in both those cases they mean technically the same thing though it's for two different purposes. So no harm done, they're both usable in both contexts in both nations. Just one usage is more frequent than the other for most people. Police Dispatch probably comes from the telegram/telegraph days.

    4. TheFlyingGerbil

      TheFlyingGerbil

super saver takes way longer than 2 days to Wales, so I'm guessing that would be very optimistic for Ireland.

  12. As Ronaldus Magnus said in his 1981 SOTU address "The taxing power of government must be used to provide revenues for legitimate government purposes. It must not be used to regulate the economy or bring about social change." I do not agree at all that taxes or government should be used to change social status. Or as Chris Christie said to Warren Buffet (and I'm paraphrasing) "Cut a damn check if you don't think you're paying enough!" That's what you think its about? Changing people's social class? Maybe its to, I don't know help those less unfortunate then you? Those who can't find jobs in this very difficult economic times?
  13. http://firstread.msn...-more-abortions Santorum says that the only reason to get prenatal testing is to get an abortion, and he thinks abortion is morally wrong, therefore he things prenatal testing is morally wrong. The article you linked to says that the Health Care Bill put in a clause for free testing in order to encourage abortions. That's totally different from "the only reason to get prenatal testing is to get an abortion". Did you even read the full article or just Rick Santorum's parts?
  14. His stance is that "Free prenatal testing ends up in more abortions," and because of that is morally unacceptable. So prenatal testing and amniocentesis which helps identify a wide range of genetic problems in the fetus, and help parents to know and prepare and help treat their babies before they are born, shouldn't be supported because.....some couples choose to use abortion after finding out their child will lead a life of suffering? How insane is that? Not to mention that your punishing the couples who don't want to abort but wouldn't be able to find out if their baby is going to be sick or be unable to prepare for it.
  15. Phew, I preordered on Amazon so its cool. Don't they have a legal right to tell people when they changed a product like that?
  16. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-02-20-alan-wake-pc-makes-money-back-in-48-hours Appears to be all the money they spent on porting it and marketing (which couldn't have been much, I can't remember seeing any ads for the PC version online, only articles on the web). Impressive, although I wish the devs were less generic in their responses. 'We are excited about this' 'we are quite excitied about the PC'
  17. Oh yeah I was just wondering, I know they turned a profit, just wondering over the years how much money they've made just on Amnesia, cause it always seem to be referenced when it comes to horror on PC and it also got a retail release I believe.
  18. Are they doing the HD Next Level digital restoring with all the series? because I'll definetly getting Deep Space Nine and Voyager if they are. I liked Captain Janeway. Although she was a bit wooden at times.
  19. I've watched and read various parts of the Naruto manga and anime, its damn good in parts. Manga I've read that were really good, Tokyo Tribes (aka Tokyo Tribe2) which is about gangs in Tokyo and two heads of each gang who used to be best friends, really dark and weird in places but overall its a satisfying read. Dragon Ball is really good and funny in places, Dragon Ball Z is fantastic, the story and characters are enthralling and compared to the anime, the artwork is charming and rough, and the plot is lightning quick. I'm just getting into the One Piece manga which is just an incredibly well realised world and the selection of characters are nearly all awesome. Lament of the Lamb is a fairly short series which I highly recommend, its almost a drama in places, about a family who have a curse of the blood that makes them vampires, very suspensful in places. All I can think of at the moment.
  20. Watched Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist last night on Netflix. Quite enjoyable, pleasently surprised to find out that it all took place over one night unlike regular romantic comedies which take place over weeks and months. Also saw The Girl Who Leapt Through Time a few weeks ago, which was just great, refreshing to see completely normal looking teens in an anime film.
  21. Yeah got it, Mewtwo is back bitches! I may start getting back into Pokemon Black again and beat the REAL Elite Four now.
  22. I can't wait for Lego Minecraft the game! Basically Minecraft with lego connections added to all the blocks. Which would be a pretty sweet mod come to think of it. I like the look the of the Lego set, it is Minecrafty.
  23. Cripes, I've barely played any of Amnesia, its.....its atmosphere is just so god damn unnerving! Glad they are making another title though, how much did Amnesia cost to make, and have they announced how much money they made from it?
  24. Alan Wake is €28 on Steam here. Is this the first time we've had the best deal on a game on Steam in Europe?! ...still a bit expensive, I may wait for the steam sale in a few weeks.
  25. I like the rep system but like sounds fine too. Like this if you agree
