No, but it IS with a tribal person. 5 or 6 walkers, along with a thug, show up out of nowhere and all start attacking the guy. No matter what tactic I've tried, he's down within the span of 30 seconds to a minute.

Okay, fuck this later mission. There's no way this particular part was balanced for just one player AT ALL. I just need to pray for a XBL friend to help me out of this jam. Because fuck escort quests, especially when they throw 6 zombies and one thug at you.

I need to hold off on buying Star Fox 64 3D until Christmas or something. The audio and visuals are SO MUCH BETTER than the original.

Wow, Monster Hunter 4 was quite the surprising news. Considering it's THE game that made the PSP sell any quantity in Japan, Nintendo claiming it is a huge deal.

And that's why I try before I buy. Still a trailer should, up until that point, be a major point in telling me how the game is. I was kind of expecting from the trailers, though it was dimmed down by the various screenshots posted through my inbox (so it's not like I went into the game totally expecting this), something kind of Heavy Rain like. To actually have an emotional and deeper look at the breakdown of civilization in this small micro-thingy(economy?), and have a greater sense of depth to the characters n such. It's not like it's something that hasn't been done before. Maybe something along lines of the recent Torchwood: Miracle Day where they had a look at how the world kinda went upside down once people stopped dying (just not undying). Instead you beat the shit out of zombies with a paddle. Best Simpsons bit ever.

That sounds like the polar opposite of what was given to us in the game. I'd imagine that they had to change the whole thing to make it more appealing to a wider demographic in order to get more sales or something. Either that, or the PR team is made up of compulsive liars. I've found areas in the game that appear to be placed for emotional weight. You just really have to search and stumble across them. And I felt like there were several parts of the game that didn't outright say or acknowledge the fact that this place that you've either discovered for the first time or returned to has witnessed something horrible.

I just feel like people set themselves up when they take stock in trailers. I bought the game because it was described as "Borderlands with zombies", and in that respect it doesn't disappoint at all. The environments are rather large and beautiful, it keeps a constant state of challenge, and the quests make me feel like I'm in an authentic survival state. Sure, the structure is rather flawed, and it could use some polish here or there. But in the end, it delivers on something primal that no other zombie game has come close to touching, and for that I'm happy I purchased it. EDIT: Okay, I never saw that second trailer. I just heard impressions from sites like Giant Bomb and Destructoid, and it never sounded anything like the trailer. Though to be fair, they do go for some emotional gravitas in areas; you just have to dig to find it. I've stumbled across several scenes purely by accident that told of unspeakable tragedy that befell the people within, like a bathroom riddled with blood and corpses. I suppose if you were following that specific train of thought, then the "WHO DO YOU VOODOO, BITCH!?" beginning must've set you up for one massive let down.

Will I understand the book if I never finished KOTOR? I already had the ending ruined for me, so playing the game before reading the book wouldn't be an issue.

Well, now I've gone and done it. I pre-ordered the digital edition. Now that I actually know someone locally who is also buying the game (one of my floormates), perhaps I'll finally get into an MMO. And since I love Star Wars and BioWare, it's like a match made in heaven.

Last Good Movie You Saw

Pulp Fiction. Again. God, what an awesome movie. I was watching it with a group of people. After the movie, one of them came up to me in private and said it was awkward for them because one of the people watching was black, and they didn't know if it was okay to laugh at Quentin Tarantino using the word "nigger". Of course it's okay to laugh, because it's a funny moment! The black guy was laughing, too, so I didn't know what his problem was. These days, people are so uptight about race relations, even when they're listening to rap songs that say "nigger" 50 times in 3 minutes. If people didn't act so offended with someone said it, the word would become powerless, and that would be a good thing. -
I've discovered that XBL download speeds vary based on popularity, not size. I DL'd a trial for BCR2, a gig and a half, and it took two minutes. Downloading CODBLOPS Pack 1 (storage got wiped), it's been 2 minutes and it's only at 20%, at a size of 600 MB.

I don't like being limited to 12 items in my inventory. Do you know if there's an upgrade in the tech tree that expands that number? Or do I have to keep giving it to that one lady?

Got a new, unfucked copy of Final Fantasy XIII in the mail today. The 3 discs are still in the same slot. Whoever designed the case for this game should be fired.

The only scene that ever made me sick was the very first Jackass movie. The paper cut thing made me vomit all over. Funny, that. I watch a movie like Antichrist and my biggest reaction was "Wow, I really feel bad for Willem Defoe. Wow, I really feel bad for this woman!" I watch a bunch of idiots give each other papercuts and I want to dig my eyes out of my skull. -
Nah, I picked the right game. Played the Space Marine demo, and I really didn't see what the big hub bub was about. It's polished and good, I guess. It's just not for me.

Best zombie game I've ever played. I used to talk about how awesome the Dead Rising series is, but after playing this one, I've realized how wrong I was. It's also made me swear off Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, because from what I've seen of it, it won't be as great as this.

Yeah, at first it seemed like an average game I wouldn't mind ignoring for a while. But now that I've seen some more of it, it looks pretty damn cool.
