  1. I hate all that faux cutesy nonsense that's on packaging these days. They're certainly not the worst though. The converse, but equally annoying trend is having children doling out zen advice or parenting their parents. SO annoying.
  2. Really disappointed in the non-English footballers on team GB refusing to sing the BRITISH national anthem, especially the men's captain, Ryan Giggs. Pretty typical of how footballers usually seem to be selfish group of individuals rather than a team. It especially hits home when you see the pride of the other athletes parading through the stadium and the struggles some of the countries and people must have faced to get there. Also great is the historic achievement that this is the first ever Olympics to have all the countries allowing women to compete. I really enjoyed the opening ceremony - I thought the petals representing each country coming together to form the cauldron was a really nice idea and how can you not love the Queen parachuting in to the stadium?! I think it had just the right balance of quirkiness and spectacle, and was very British.

The safety issues are very real... FOR THE CHILDREN'S SOULS. Don't know how it is 'news' that they are a fundamentalist chrirstian fast food company though - I've known that for years and I don't even live in a country that has Chick Fil A. I don't see why it's so hard for a company like Jim Henson to do a simple google search to see if anyone they partner with is a complete bunch of prannocks or not. They're not even just anti marriage equality - they won't even employ gay people because they're a 'christian organisation'.
  4. Edible cookie espresso cup is not how I do take it, but I wouldn't say no!
  5. nice, but I'm guessing your next post is a bumper pack of pantyhose.
  6. "all right to cook with, but I wouldn't put it in a salad"
  7. is google good with long-term OS updates for it's own-brand hardware or does it abandon them as soon as it releases new hardware?

the main reason stopping me getting the nexus 7 is I'm worried the screen is too small to browse the internet. I was wondering in your experience with the Note if you found it comfortable to browse the internet on a smaller screen

Yup, been fine enough. You can view pages full screen too if you don't mind slightly tidgy text (though still legible)

  8. Does the fact it's based on a UK TV series mean people will be more interested in it? I'm pretty sure they didn't have to buy the rights to be able to make a sitcom about awkward teenagers.
  9. not if you're unprepared for the zombie apocalypse because you didn't play The Walking Dead.
  10. £3 something on GMG, £6 something on GOG.
  11. I listened to that far too many times. I think I'll be dreaming about operatic ducks tonight.
  12. even if you don't like the free games they're offering it's always worth 'buying' them - at the moment they're coming with 20% off vouchers for anything in the store and some of them can even be used as credit against future purchases. I just got an extra £1 off to the moon by trading in my free copy of commandos 3 which I had no intention of playing.
  13. I got excited but it's only a dollar off compared to GoG's normal price... It ended up about half the price for me.
  14. From GMG. It was already reduced, I had a 20% off voucher, plus I traded in one of the free games they gave me for an extra £1 off! Oh, and I bought Dear Esther too though it sounds like I should put that in the off topic thread rather than the games you've bought thread.
  15. You can download for free the first single from Two Door Cinema Club's new album from their website. There first album is great if you haven't heard it. edit: I should add it is just click and download, no need to sign up for a newsletter or enter any personal details or anything like that.
  16. I blame my Dad. He's Scottish and I'm forever coming out with phrases that get me the weirdest looks. e.g. does anyone else stand around 'like a fart in a trance'?
  17. Do you wear gauntlets when you milk the cat, or do they sell it in stores over there? (Also, the (Thai) Vietnamese .) cat milk = evaporated milk. I probably should have just said that to begin with. Is cat milk not a common name for it?
  18. Mmmm, I'd try the Vietnamese coffee but I don't think I could waste the heavenly delights of condensed milk in coffee. Also, the song on that video was ace. I'm guessing at home, Americans generally use ground ground coffee in a drip machine and Brits use instant? Usually I stick to tea when I'll have assam with semi-skimmmed milk and sugar as I don't really like instant coffee but it's so easy and no mess it tends to be what I'll have at home if I can't be bothered making tea. for that reason I have sugar and cat milk to make it bearable . If I'm out I'll have an espresso with no milk/sugar or a cappuccino without sugar.
  19. I use my phone charger in a wall outlet next to the sofa when my controller is running low. Also, the coolest thing one of the cool things about the Wii is the USB port is powered even when the console's in standby so I always keep a USB cable in the back of the Wii to keep my PS3 controller charged up. edit: my actual point was it boggles my mind that you can't charge your PS3/xbox controller when the console is in standby as no one wants to charge it while they're using it.
  20. well, out of 7,882 posts I may have missed one or two!
  21. Ah, that makes sense. I wonder if there are pictures of Dean in a leotard floating about in the ether somewhere...
  22. That makes it sound like you've don green screen acting?
